Thank you for this. Followed this recipe. It is amazing and spot on. Only thing I like to do, is after 350 degrees for 4-5 minutes of deep frying the chicken, I like to coat the chicken in the tso sauce and stick the coated chicken in the air fryer at 400 degrees for like 4-5 minutes. It caramelizes the sauce and makes the chicken pieces crispy. Takes it to another level. Awesome, tasty good!

Here is the US, the menus call it Gen Tso’s Chicken. Most of the time, it’s exactly the same as what they also serve called Sesame Chicken but has a few spicy peppers instead of sesame seeds. Both are crispy breaded chicken in a spicy red sauce and served with white rice. Over the last ten years, the trend has been for the chicken to be less and less crispy. Lately it’s never crispy at all. My understanding is that this is a dish invented by the take out industry so the recipe is not traditional. The best version I’ve ever had was in the UK at a small Chinese restaurant in Thetford next to the Bell Hotel. I did a Google search and unfortunately they are no longer there. Their version really had minimal sauce almost candied into thin but crispy chicken strips - more crunch than chicken. They served it with white rice that was topped with some sort of thinly sliced and fried seaweed topped with a sweet and savory spice. It was amazing.

Can't believe keyboard "Cooks" are still telling you how to cook Take Away recipes - seriously. I do a lot of cooking and have cooked for events in the past, but I wouldn't tell you or other Chefs what's right or wrong. Recipes vary - one General Tao recipe will be different to another so what's the issue. I mean I've done General Tao before and it was a more Soya sauce/rice wine vinegar heavy using Chicken stock. Other recipes is just a basic Sweet n Sour, others use chilli powder or flakes others use Chilli sauce - so which one is right? Does anybody cares? obviously the Keyboard Bandits think so hahahaha.
Also I always found you experiment until what's right for you personal and learn from others who do it differently and its a "Oooooohhhh" moment - Cooking is about learning not correcting or being a gatekeeper. "Deep breath"......... Great video loving the channel, hope you are all keeping well.
