  • One question we are often asked is, how do we pack our parachutes?
The answer is that pretty much every BASE jumper will pack slightly different, but the finished packjob will be very similar.
Here Jase shows us his Slider off/Slider down packjob.
This video is to be used as a packing aid to people undertaking tuition, or as a reminder for newer jumpers.
It is not intended to teach a complete novice how to pack a BASE rig.

I must say, I've watched lot's of BASE film and done a fair bunch myself, but your work and the radical adrenaline performance artists that you are, is a great contribution to this unique adventure art. Relative Safety First......... always. Thanks ❤️🙏

Good job. This was first brought to the BASE and CRW world by Ian Marshall, one of the original Mountain Men CRW team, paratrooper and Red Devils parachute display team......a dear friend.....carry on you lot❤️🙏

Thanks! We've done a few jumps with Andy Guest recently. He was also one of the originals, CRW jumper and UK BASE no.1. Its great to hear about all the trial and error and pioneering back in the day that makes the sport what it is today.

@@MountainManBASE Andy is a fine man with fine brothers. One of them, Pete, was a member of the Mountain Men CRW team with me, when we won the world cup in 1980. Andy knows I am UK BASE No. 1 and world BASE No. 24 but he suffers from low self esteem because he was only a Marine commando. He's trying to catch up but BASE jumping whilst seemingly pregnant is not to be encouraged. Send him my love and respect but suggest another therapy. Underwater basket weaving may help❤️🙏be careful out there.........I know you all will.... carry on!

smooth. The bridle arround the lines to keep them in place was a good idea

I really like those clamps with the deep hold for when you're folding up. Most of the others you find don't go that deep and only have that pinpoint pressure at the end.

Whats your thoughts on abandoning the primary stow for slider down/off jumps?

I know a few people that don't use a primary stow slider down as they think of it only as an indirect slider control measure. Personally I've always used it and see it not only as an indirect slider control measure when SU, but as a staging point for the whole deployment sequence on any jump. Guess the people that don't use it have their reasons though!
