Air New Zealand NZ456 : Flying from Wellington to Auckland

It was time to return back to Auckland. A return journey in one day was quite an experience! And Air New Zealand made sure of it on their 1 year old Airbus A321neo, ZK-NNG.
Since I had already checked in and collected my boarding pass in Auckland, I had time to explore the airport and its unique 'Lord of the Rings' attractions. After watching some activity on the airside, I made my way to the international side of the terminal and caught my aircraft arriving just in time. Eventually, boarding commenced at Gate 28 and I settled in Seat 24A. As expected, my name appeared on the IFE screen. The good thing was that I got a spare seat next to me so the seat felt more spacious. The modern cabin also enhanced the experience. Then, the plane pushed back after a slight delay and the engines spooled up with a riveting roar. It was cool to experience this type of aircraft on domestic routes as it would normally be used for international ones. The plane then taxied to the runway and took off towards Auckland. Although, I didn't really use the Free Wi-Fi or IFE system, I still enjoyed my time. Headphones weren't provided anyway. I was drawn to the views outside and they were gorgeous! Refreshments were served soon after takeoff and I got a cookie and a cup of milk. Soon after, we descended and touched down in Auckland before we taxied and parked at Gate 29. My solo trip was finally over! And I've got my next trip just a short time away. Thanks for watching and I'll see you for the end journey of the season :)

It comes from a hydraulic pump known as the Power Transfer Unit (PTU). It’s more commonly found in the Airbus A320 family of aircraft, including the NEOs. Thanks for watching!

Touchdown was well past the international terminal. Maybe the airport was doing runway repairs on the first part? Check out Google maps satellite view to see what I mean.
