I've started to practice yesterday. It's very fun to play this! Thank you for another great video and also for the free tabs. Your work is really inspiring and i'm learning a lot from it. EDIT: Well, it's been six days since i started practicing this exercise every day and i can say it's an incredible exercise. I'm not able to play it at the original speed yet, but it's getting close and i can already see a lot of progress in my playing. Again, thanks a lot for this!
Really fun, because for classical guitarist we not use this way to play, so it is a very big challenge. If we can do well than we can play master etudes. Actually I think by this way people (like you) will get a improvisation capacity. So it is very fun, for you make classical player a jazz player and flamenco player.
It's been , I think , 1 month and I'm at 120 bpm. In the beginning my left hand was hurting a lot at the end. Now I feel like I've built some endurance. Felt like it's impossible to play at 140 bpm , now I know that I can , just need practice and time
Couldn’t catch the stream last Friday live but I watched it the day after and I gotta say, I enjoyed it a lot! If you want an idea for future arrangements on the main channel I’d be really cool to hear an “epic” version of Adelita, like you did with Romanza
Hey, I’m having trouble with my fingernails. They are filed on the left side like they are supposed to be, and the slant that I’m looking for is there but they are hooking the strings on the right side where the nail curves back in and meets the finger. I haven’t found anything yet about proper shaping and I have a suspicion that I need my nails to be as flat as possible like a pick. I’d love to see a tutorial about how to file and shape nails and how they are supposed to engage the strings while plucking.
Hey, I bought the course(it’s great and very helpful) but I couldn’t find how to access the discord. I would appreciate if you or someone else could explain how I can access it, thanks.
“Whatever the heck that is!?? Heh, My good man you just intuitively stumbled upon your own inspired and uniquely discovered methodology for what “(The) classical guitar’s(ist’s) take on ‘sweep picking’” would be all about. Pretty much every reason you stated about how this is a beneficial exercise starting all the way back from “endurance” and thru to the end almost word for word (such as “Economy of Motion” especially) you’d be able to read should you peek into the mind of the quintessential modern lead guitarist & their repertoire regarding sweep picking arpeggios from rock thru jazz and everything between. But how you discovered it on your own thru your own personal experiences and developed the very tried and true methodology of sweep picking to the T (minus the plectrum & adding p-i-m-a-even, tho not specifically stated, c-aka ‘e’) without unknowingly picking up and woven in any of the typical mistakes and bad habits associated with learning this technique, just in and of itself, I gotta say my man is TRULY inspiring. There’s a psychological term for such a thing-of uniquely discovering a (somewhat) common or established idea, or set of related ideological concepts, entirely on one’s own without ANY outside influence but only thru one’s own PERSONAL experiences-but it’s failing to come to me at this moment but man, to think of how much more genuinely pure the world might be if this sorta phenomenon was a much more innately commonplace occurrence. Truly inspiring, homie, truly.
PS I’ve tackled this beast in the recent past, specially for Agustin Barrios’ Estudio No.4 (Arabesque), and if you haven’t already, once you go thru that study you’ll immediately, right from the very beginning (2nd&3rd bar I believe or RIGHT around there), and be able to see where this classical guitar sweeping could be applied so since you’ve stated you prefer a musical exercise over most or all other types I merely highlight that study for some more personal study of this technique
I don't know if this channel is still going but here I am; Is there a good classical guitar that won't bust the bank that you would suggest starting with?

I am with you! The more musical you can make an exercise the more motivated I am to add it to my practice routine. Great job!
Exactly! If an exercise is so lifeless and boring that you never actually commit to it and stick with it - what's the point?
Leave me a comment and let me know - are you brave enough to tackle this beast of an exercise? 😈
I think I will start tomorrow and thank you for sharing this!
Reminds me a lot of Andrew York's "Snowflight", really cool patterns and opportunities for experimenting with tone/dynamics
Not familiar with that one. I'll have to look it up!
Just came back to revisit this video. Your channel is invaluable and the world is a better place because of your efforts. Thank you. :)
Good to see your beautiful face, my friend! Hope you’re doing well
This masterpiece disguised as an exercise is just genius, now I can't stop practicing haha :)
Sounds SO good, wow! Thanks for the free tabs, definitely going to learn this one.
Yeah, this is going to take some time for sure. Noticed quite fast how much i need to work on syncronicing my left and right hand. Great exercise!
Yes! There's no hiding that lack of synchronization with this one
@@BeyondTheGuitarAcademy Just trying to go as slow as possible for now and slowly build up speed. Dont want to sound messy :)
This is insanely hard! But very cool. I have noticed stark improvement. Thank you!
You are a madman.
😈

This sounds sick, I’m definitely going to try it out
Let me know how it goes 💪

reminds me of ewan dobson's playing style . He is awesome. nice study !
Nate, GREAT exercise 👍🏽! I started adding this to daily exercise routine yesterday. Thank you so much!

It's been 3 days , I'm at 135 bpm now and need to play it effortlessly and clean now. Almost there
I did it finally
Thanks Nathan! Way to think outside the box. Always appreciate the lessons brother.
Great exercise! We used to ring the notes legato-ly. It is a bit awkward at first 😂. Thank you so much!
That technique is totally insane!! Definitely gonna try it. BTW the only P90X I know is Studio C’s hilarious parody
I'll have to look that up
It is such a beautiful study.
Brilliant composition! I will give this a try.
Very good 👍
Sounds awesome! I love doing this kind of stuff
Would love to hear you crush this 🤘
fantastic arpeggio study
I plan on attempting to do this, I also wanna try this with 2 finger tapping

Not a bad idea!
Thanks man👌appreciate it🎯
Love the piece. Sounds like it would fit right at home in an M. Night movie during the big plot reveal. To be clear, a GOOD M. Night movie, lol!
😅
Hello Nathan,
I am a new subscriber.
Amazing, will try it out later, thanks a lot!
I really like your instruction videos
Thanks for watching!

Ordering cortisone in anticipation, bring it on.

@@BeyondTheGuitarAcademy Thank you, I can’t wait to get on.
no... not yet... love the harmonics though... thank you brother... i have subbed, found you with the pixar guitar sonhs!
After months of not touching the guitar, I will start practicing this everyday. Let's see how it goes!
I am considering joining your FingerStyle Journey Pro but I do have a question, is it also meant for starters/beginners?
It’s not designed to teach the absolute basics. But it teaches concepts that are crucial for guitarists of all skill levels.
