This is a must have for anyone who has noticed that the original seat position is TOO HIGH in the cab. These brackets correct the line of sight through your windshield, pedal angles, seating position and overall comfort-ability of the stock bench seat. We've designed these brackets to solve all of these issues with minimal install time and effort. These brackets will lower the seat approximately 2 inches. It was necessary to eliminate the factory sliding function in order to get the desired drop, so BROTHERS corrected this by adding slotted mounting holes to allow 1-1/4" fore and aft adjust ability. Glad you like the drop brackets, we've had killer feedback on them so far! FWIW, the 67-70 seat (the one in this truck) has 2" more "lean" than the 71-72 seat, so it's almost impossible to slide the OG slides all the way back without the back of the seat hitting the cab below the window. You'll notice that the back of the seat, before the brackets are installed, is right up against the cab while Dave is demonstrating how little room there is. No attempt at marketing, just real world cramped cabs in these classics.
This will be the first thing I do when I buy my truck here soon I'm 6'3 n it's tight same with my brother n I'll be getting a performance steering column and smaller steering wheel

Just received my mounts and looking forward to getting these mounted. The bolts they came with look like they’re the floor mounts. Do they come with the bolts for the bench seat? Do you know what size of bolt goes into the bench seat?
All the bolts are the same size, 5/16x18
Does it have as much room for readjustment with the factory gas tank still in the cab?
Yes, even with the factory tank you can adjust the seat all the way back to where it will touch the cab.

it simply attaches the left side to the right so that when you pull the lever on the Drivers side the Passenger side also gets released.
Is the seat still adjustable front to back, or is it in a fixed position?
Yes, still adjusts approximately 1.5 inches front to back.
My freaking tracking front bolts on my bench seat I can't get to I can't put a socket or wrench. Does the upholstery have to be stripped because I just got the seat reupholstered. Does anyone have a answer for me thanks.

They dont fit like you would think. I have the correct ones too. If you want the seat all the way back like factory they wont work

Yes, but not on the fly.
Does it matter what year bench seat the truck came from?
Yes, 100%. You need to know if it came from a 67-70 or a 71-72.

I'm looking at a 76 with this same issue. I'd snap it up if I could find a way to drop the seat down
Due to the framework of the Squarebody, the seats already sit considerably lower than the previous trucks did. Unfortunately that makes it basically impossible to drop the seat just by changing the mounts.

Either way, these trucks aren't exactly favorable for tall guys, however Dave is also a Tall guy and he says this is how the truck should have felt from the factory.

Brackets did not bolt up had to do some trimming on the front brackets and had to cut some off the rear.
Modifying our brackets is 100% unnecessary. You probably don't have the correct seat frame in your truck that matches the year of the truck. What you described only happens when you use 67-70 brackets on a 71-72 seat or vice versa.
