In his memoirs he would say that once he became champ he started partying and not training, with King it all became about money and souless. If Cus had stayed alive I firmly believe that his team would have stayed in place, he would have stayed focused, committed and hungry, and he would have reigned for a good ten years, well into the '90s, just destroying guys for Cus.

Agreed. A lot of people take 88' Tyson but I would pick the 86' version in route to fulfilling Cus's expectations as YHW champ of all time. He fought over a dozen times that year and was yet to be fully griped by Givens and Don King. Jacobs was alive and his team was running smoothly. He was staying with Steve Lott and training constantly.
His poise and maturity at that age was amazing. It's so sad that Cuss couldn't have lasted another 5 years. Tyson probably would have had 25-30 title defenses, and retired undefeated. He just needed Cuss for a little while longer.

This is a prime Iron Mike Tyson Berbick fought. The very same prime Tyson no one wanted to fight, not Holyfield, not George Foreman... no one wanted to face this beast and end their boxing career. I have mad respect for Berbick. He showed heart and grit in this fight against Tyson. A true warrior. Tyson was a better fighter no doubt about it. I love how they replay dude falling all over himself in slo-mo, I couldn't help but laugh out loud when he just wobbled over the second time.
No hate though, that first punch would have probably killed me. Lol
