Drycha is underrated. Her campaign is fun and despite being a "wood elf" legendary lord, she is like a different race due to her unique tree-type unit variants, the amount of buffs they get and the fact that you can make armies consisting solely in trees and make it work, one of the most unique campaigns.
Kairos is extremely fun and extremely strong.
Best caster in the game, he can and will carry your battles even all on his own, but he's not so powerful you can just turn your brain off. You have to use wit. Changing of the Ways doesn't always work but it does make life easier, at the very least by nabbing settlements. Tzeentch's roster is also very fun and complete, and sorcerer lords and heroes are always fun to use especially on discs
Can't help myself but think this is some weird mix of visual appeal and easy campaign settings... which is a surprise to me that it matters so much for this many users:)
On legendary difficulty you get a huge appreciation for a lot of campaigns in the bottom half:)
And some campaigns in the top half become boring because it's pointless to recruit any "fun units".
For example playing nothing but the corsairs entire campaign with lokhir, oof
Very nice content!! Although Skarsnik is great because he is so cute. The Gobos are just fun as the ultimate underdogs.
Thumbs up for the work put into that alone, nice!
my top 5 "most fun" campaigns: 1 Karl Franz, 2 Imrik, 3 Ikit claw, 4 Orion, 5 Archeon
I recently long campaigned all the dark elf LLs and found Rakarth so easy, you get so many black dragons early - i might have just got lucky but i found him very fun
Rakarth doesn't get Karond Kar slower than Lokhir. He can get it on turn 4 on L/VH without cheesing, when Alith Anar only has 2 settlements. You can wipe out Alith Anar's only army on turn 4 itself, and finish his faction by turn 6.
No way taurox campaign is lower than the likes of belegar
One of these days I want to figure out where these polls are so I can give my poor boy Greasus some votes. He's a bit meh as a lord aside from the free regeneration but I do love the extra mass faction buff.
Personally I prefer Khazrak to Taurox. His starting position is just more fun, being surrounded by the iconic Ordertide factions. Plus, he is severely underrated: granting poison to Ungol Raiders (AKA the Beastmen Archers) is extremely good early-to-midgame.
Nah you worng about skarbrand
Orion in C tier? Wow :)
Changeling is actually really fun. I completely understand the hate, he could have been implemented better, heck, he perhaps even could have been a Legendary Hero and not a Legendary Lord, but just screwing around and ruining the AI’s day with a combination of Changing of The Ways and Schemes (and trolling them with your invisibility) is absolutely hilarious fun. And shape-shifting like the freaking T-1000 Terminator is S-tier fun.
Kostaltyn is best Kislev. Stanky doesn't count, that 20% ward save makes patriarchs even useable. I disagree alot, but it's not my vid. Great video Costin!
Totally disagree on Tehenhauin "breaking" the AI with the Skaven War, with the tiny proviso that if you want to play a kind of heretical Lizardmen campaign, fine. You can play a Kislev campaign where you ally with Warriors of Chaos or a Valkia campaign where she allies as a junior partner to Sigvald, but thats the same thing as Lizardmen playing nice with Skaven.
I don't mean that.
I mean that the forced war makes a lot of AI factions simply freeze and do nothing for a long time.
Lohkir wins poll by 12%: S tier
Taurox wins poll by 71%: C tier
In your follow up chaos poll a large percentage of people voted that they disagreed with the low placement of the Beastmen, more than Nurgle and Khorne combined. Beastmen ranked higher on the the best list and lower on the worst list than lizardmen but somehow you have Oxyotl above Taurox. Seems like this based more on your own preferences than the community's votes.
The question is if it is worth trying to fix bottom tiers? If the amount of work needed would actualy correspond to the value provided to the game and player base. I am not sure if Bretonia rework could have same effect as Dwarves rework in ToD, same applies to Lizardmen. Also Gelt rework costs a lot of energy yet it is far from the most popular campaigns. Any views on these trade-offs?
My favorite part about this was the fantasy of redoing it taking BOTH available maps (IE & Old World) into account, in a few years when the game is essentially compete and Robie goes insane completing his project
Given that Kostaltyn is my favorite Kislevite Lord, despite Boris’ campaign being my favorite Kislev one so far, seeing the injustice done to him here made me want to blow up a Russian city…definitely a low moment in the vid
I agree on Skarbrand I don't find that type of campaign fun at all but then again I also didn't find Taurox that fun either. I am that type of player that likes making "Empires" organizing settlements battlefronts allies e.t.c plus I dislike unga bunga full melee factions where you shut your brain off. I want variety and a little bit of macro but then again that is my opinion. This tierlist is solid.
I'd reccomend more warpstone's head to head campaign tier list for some insight on campaign strength. ofc not all of it transfers to singleplayer but I feel like it was very insightful, and a lot of the main factors contributing to strength are similar, and it's also really interesting to see the similarities and differences to this one
Drycha is the best ELVEN campaign, period. Better than any other Wood Elf, Dark Elf or High Elf!
Why?
Because it is all about killing elves!
Happy to see Queek up in B, i love him so much, would remove his cons from his lines (which are nonsense, like the - loyalty one) and add him a mount, as he should have and that'd be ok
Alith Anar is easily the best HE campaign. People be smoking crack…. or never played it. 🤔
Better methodology would be having everyone rate every legendary lord on a scale from 1 to 10 or something like that. A vote for tyrion doesn't mean the community thinks Alarielle is bad. I do understand yourtube polling doesn't provide tools for such polling though. I do appreciate the effort.
Was polling done with Legendary Lords pitted head to head? Or just in isolation with vote options for S,A,B,C,D,F tiers?
Head to head.
Not a lot of love for the Frenchies I see. I approve.
Please do one for multiplayer campaigns
Kugath is alot better now after the last DLC once you wipe out Ghorst you have afew good choices in wich direction you want to go
It's funny that many of us cheese battles with Skarbrand when Khorne armies pretty much steamroll anything in their path anyways.
Also, I'd probably like Boris, but I literally haven't unlocked him after over 800 hours of playing this game.
There's definitely a lot of other characters that I want to like, but I just haven't felt like they were very fun. For example, I would personally put Sniktch in S tier and Ikit Claw lower. As much as I like the idea of starting in the capital of the Skaven, Ikit Claw's start position just feels awkward (Even if the workshop is pretty fun to play with).
I think this list is just wrong.. Once i saw Alarielle go F tier lol You should do a list on your experience not your fans because they dont know what they are talking about
It's not just my fans that voted on this, plenty of others did too.
It's worth saying that I think she gets dragged down a lot for Queen and the Crone DLC, which a lot of people hate.
Hmm make me sad most of the lords I enjoy are f or lower.
Great video (love all these tier lists), but please don't use AI art. All AI image creators use stolen copyrighted content since they scrape the internet without any creators' permission. The styles they use are taken from actual artists, and supporting it just damages the amazing actual artists we have in the fantasy community.
Ive always liked rakarth... its a different starting position and the bests/monsters... bad position and other issues... but still liked him.
Daniel is pretty strong, i dont know why he get so low rating. ofc his mechanic are dump af after mid game pointless but the faction is preety good
Skarbrand dominants all day
A.I image of cheese gelt when?
My Opinion...
I like most of your content but struggle to watch any of your tier lists. You try too hard to push your opinion. You can't just give it without trying your hardest to make any decision outside of your own seem ridiculous. Legend gives his reasons but always says...Play what makes you happy and you find fun. He doesn't go to great lengths to prove his point with grandeous cuss ridden statements.
You did a pretty good job here by using the polls but couldn't help yourself with driving home your opinions.
Don't get me wrong. I want your opinion but not to the level that you like to give it.
Just my opinion and I believe that may have something to do with your sub numbers. I believe you have the potential to be as popular as anyone out there. I really do!
I feel exactly the same. When I've started playing the game his campaign guides were one of the best content I could find other than unit types and formations guides from other content creators. That said, after some time I've realised that if he dislikes anything he tends to have a very polarizing opinion on it. On this tier list only, there are a lot of campaigns in F-/Daniel tier I would consider S/A tier. I get not everyone might like them as much, but it seems quite radical to put so many in the Daniel tier.
Also, I've noticed that he seems to mostly like one playstyle of the game: empire building with strong start and good economy and any campaign that doesn't provide it or give any restrictions is automatically bad. I don't know if that's a playstyle the most of the community likes, but for me, I'm a type of person that likes challenging starts with a lot of restrictions and it's getting hard to watch someone who is constantly shitting on what you like. I feel that Legend is much more chill with his content, saying quite often that something is not his favourite playstyle, but if you like it's a good campaign. It feels much more chill and easier to watch.
Agreed on this. I actually couldn't finish this one because it was frustrating to listen to him discount the community's choices over and over again while listing why X or Y race/character is better or the more correct choice. I like listening to his videos normally despite this constant behavior but this one just really put me off. Its a shame, really. I understand we are here for the youtuber but this is one of the few situations where I would personally prefer neutrality or even positive acknowledgements/interactions with the community and their choices.
then just watch his tier lists. clearly you dont like costin's takes.. its HIS channel and HIS tier list. He gets to add his opinion and then back it up with examples and context. like what are you even upset about?
alarielle is fine even great as a faction. however as a legendary lord she falls flat. she really needs a rework of her skills to make her more viable. her spell list is an utter fail. she only gets one heal spell? like wtf? isn't she supposed to be one of the best healer/support casters in the lore? the fact she doesn't get a yellow line is also utterly baffling to me. she gets outperformed by the default life mage lord....
Taurox and Skarbrand below S tier.... guess your opinion has been invalidated. Rampage and bloodletting armies are so fucking op lmfao. ya idk how karaz a karak gets s tier kek
Daniel tier 🤣😭
Legend total wars tier list was so damn biased it was hard to watch...
Orion in C tier totaly invalidates this one, i am sorry. And i know, its not costins idea, its just most of the people watching and voting have no idea about the game.
Yapp level: extreme
AI art sucks
All i see is a big indication that people dont know how to use the greater demon LLs early game so they rate them far lower than they should.
This list must be satirical
Too many adds dude
Block the adds lol.
Saying valkia is a better Khorne campaign than Taurox and Skarbrand is actually criminal. Skarbrand is without even a chance of an argument, the strongest faction in the game
Chaos Dwarfs are extremely overrated. They are not very good, they are nkt very fun, and they all play basically the same.
They're pretty good tbh.
And I know it's just my opinion, but I find them to be a blast especially astragoth
Disliking them doesn't stop them being one of the strongest races in campaign.
@@joshwalton25 Yeah but is this tierlist for the "strongest" race or is it terms of gameplay/fun?
@@Tallborn5 Watching enemy troops melt under cd artillery fire is pretty fun if you ask me.
@joshwalton25 They are strong late game, but what race isn't? They have one of the slower starts. The regular Dwarfs and Skaven pretty much outclass them at any point.
