Gill I went back to your old videos with the 1967 mustang fast back and was blown away I did all this to see where you are located. I have several projects including the truck in this video. I am coming to realization I might have to choose one. But right now, I am going to keep dreaming of restoring a few of them. Thanks for the content hopefully you are in the south.
Thank you for posting , I am doing a 51 , i took the bed off it 4 years ago and forgot how the wood blocks and braces went back in . Just what I needed.
@@devotedanaheim1575 I looked through the assembly manual twice but I can’t find anything that references bed hardware or where the bolts may go. I know there are different lengths of carriage bolts for the front and rear cross members and center cross seals.
Your explanations were awesome. I was trying to remember where the rear wood blocks went and your video made it clear. Thank you Sir. And, I liked and subscribed
@@DwoneJeter the Spartanburg SC area is where I spent a couple years of my life, worked in Spartanburg and lived in Greenville - loved it! The short answer is no, not without doing a lot of mods. I used a 2000ish Silverado donor truck for its engine, transmission, wire harness, cruise control, bcm, pcm, and many other parts but the rear axle wasn’t going to be easy to use without tons of mods so I used an s10 rear axle (4-link bars) with the stock Chevy 3100 frame. I still had to notch the frame and tub the bed a few inches. The Avalanche axle may be too wide and you would have a facewheel look instead of the deep lip wheel look. Thanks for watching my channel! Yes, my shop is in the south, located in Concord, NC for the time being.
This is the best vid explaining how the bed mounts to the frame… thanks for the help!
I’m glad it made sense 😅. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Great job...Awesome video!!!
@@hyper1le486 thank you!
Nice work - love the videos. Any videos on the actual install of the bed and getting it square? Thanks!
@@DRostjr Thank you! No, I didn’t do a video on the install and squaring it up but I think I used a framing square and by eye.

I was wondering if you ever fabricated the chain link for your bed with a bolt size and pattern
I haven’t.

how did you hook up exhaust to the rack
The exhaust tube was in the way of the steering shaft so I modified that one tube in order for the steering shaft to pass through it.
Nice Man keep it going
