I just want to say thank you for your videos. I’ve been training for rugby for a while now. I’m trying to get faster and your videos help. I have lost 15kg put 20 kg on my squat added 14 cm to my counter jump and I have seen huge speed increase. I appreciate the systematic approach that you give for speed training. It has given me good guide posts to focus on.
Timothy, those are some seriously impressive changes! Well done!!! I’m delighted if my content has helped guide you a little - that’s exactly why I make videos. Cheers.
Hi Fraser, brilliant insight into increasing speed capacity. I was really interested in all of this really, but in particular I was really interested in the mechanics. The technique is not something I have paid much attention to and was wondering if you had much demand for doing a follow up for speed mechanics and what to look for? Great stuff though. I have immediately added what you have spoken about into my training. At some point I got older and slow so need to get back on the speed training! Thank you.
@@CoachFmt Thanks F, can you give a steer on some of the slow plyo movements you speak about? You mentioned bounding - is that just v.long stride running?
Squat would be based on the athlete getting the crease of their hip down and in line with their knee or below (parallel). I say this, because sometimes people say parallel and use the knee angle only.
The one that gets you there fastest buddy! There are a good few things to look at during each phase of a sprint - I'll maybe make a video on the specific postures we want to encourage during each phase, with corresponding drills, if that's something people are interested in 👍.

This content is super. Definitely keen for speed mechanics video. With gyms opening I’m working on relative strength.👍👍
Sorry it’s taken so long, but I’ve got a new video on this topic dropping in Summer 2024. I’m really excited about it. stay tuned.
Love this info
Happy if it helps in anyway 🙋♂️🏉

Hi I love your videos
Great, glad you like them.
Yes on speed mechanics!
New video on this coming in Summer 2024 - sorry for the wait. It’ll be worth it though!
Are the squat standards based on parallel or a2g squats?
