He loves her too much to just let her go about her business!! He shoudn't have had sex with her if her didn't want to give it is all. The relationship for that matter!! They belong together, even through all of the problems!!
Josh was such a coward. I love that Reva is talking about herself and Josh knows it too(even though she doesn’t say it), he’s just too afraid to admit it. He’ll be thinking about Reva more than anyone. He is trying to honor a commitment to Cassie and especially RJ. It’s what he always did, tried to be the good guy. Problem is that he always ended up hurting so many people in the end when he stopped running.
Josh really was a coward in a lot of this, but I think they hinged the entire motivation for both of them on the idea of sacrifice. And the reason the whole storyline feels empty, and ultimately doesn't work, is because it's a flimsy sacrifice. On GL they thought nothing of having people sleep with and marry multiple members of the same family (ie. siblings/parents/children of past significant others), but in this case it really negates who the character of Cassie had become - and I believe that was why Laura Wright left the show just before the Cassie/Josh pairing. It was out of character for her to have been with her sister's husband/ex-husband, and even more out of character for her to stay with him once she knew about Reva's cancer. That should have been the turning point for all of them. It's not like Josh couldn't still be an active father figure to RJ without being with Cassie. But by doubling down on that pairing, it made Josh look weak and cowardly, and a cheater, while also turning Cassie into an idiot with no agency. Josh and Reva had major problems, no question, but what they needed was serious marriage counseling (and individual therapy), not countless divorces and relationships with people they'd been related to by marriage. The show really failed in that way. Granted, it's a lot harder to write couples staying together and working through their problems than it is to bring in outside obstacles. But it's really bigger picture choices like this that signaled the beginning of the end for GL. ...Though this scene is unbelievably compelling and brilliant acted.
Rita Marshall I couldn’t agree more, especially about Cassie. I used to adore her when she was played by Laura Wright. She and Reva had a great bond, but when Nicole Forrester took over the role and they put Cassie with Josh, I could no longer stand her. They had the perfect opportunity to make something good out of this story after Reva’s cancer but, you’re right, they took the lazy way out. So many scenes with Cassie looking on and witnessing the raw, instinctual love Josh had for Reva. She knew, without a doubt, that he never had and never would love her that way. If she loved her sister the way she said, she would have sacrificed her feelings. She was afraid to be alone so she ignored every instinct she had. They turned Cassie into a weak, selfish, delusional character. (I also love that Reva admitted she was only looking out for Cassie because of their mama. Hereafter, you feel how Reva had to force herself to care.) It would have been much better if they had written it to where they fought to find their way back together. I think of a couple like Bob and Kim on ATWT and that’s where I wanted Josh and Reva to end up the way Y&R has finally done with Victor and Nikki. It’s powerful couples such as these that should become the foundation for the younger generation. It’s why Y&R is still holding its own. They’ve successfully transferred the mature, main roles to characters such as Nick, Victoria, Adam, Phyllis, Billy,... and have brought the next generation such as Summer, Kyle, Abby,... into their old roles. GL wasn’t successful doing that. They never properly used all the younger Lewises, Spauldings, Marlers,... and then brought in too many characters nobody cared about. Why not bring Marah and Shayne back sooner? Why did they make the awful decision to leave Daisy as a perpetual teen(she should have been Marah/Bill/Michelle’s age), let R.J. age normally, but jump Leah from baby to teen in 2 yrs. So many things went wrong after the early 2000s. Breaks my heart. 💔 😔
@jazzybash1 Unfortunately, I don't. All my tapes and DVDs from that era are in storage, and I don't have a clue of what's actually in there. My recording habits weren't consistent - sometimes I recorded full episodes and sometimes just specific scenes or storylines. I don't remember being a fan of that storyline with Josh because I never bought into him and Cassie (them being together was very out of character for both), so it's unlikely I have it. Sorry.
wonderful only Reva and Josh

YOU GOT THAT RIGHT!!! The show would still be on!!

Him telling her he should of pushed her away harder. He needed to let Cassie go. Reva bringing up that promise to Sarah again- let it go.
Kim and Robert were great together josh and reva love scenes were hot
does anyone know the name of the song that's playing? it always plays when josh and reva are together.
verdell It’s a slow version of the GL theme song, “Hold On To Love”. It’s their background theme music during special moments.
Do you have Josh’s trail episode?
