Hey. Really enjoyed those opening move vids. Was wondering if you were planning a let's play similar to a previous video. Thought that gave a really good insight into how the game was played and the fun that could be had.
After the unboxing vids, I'm planning a series of "how to play" videos. Once those are out I do hope to release more "real gameplay" footage. Origins and Gencon are coming up so there might be some footage taken at the sessions there hosted by Greg Smorey... www.headlesshorseman2.com/index.html
Thanks for doing these videos - couple suggestions to improve qaulity. Camera stability/focus. Consider something to help with that as you are all over the maps and out of focus a fair bit. Also, some better backlighting to take the sheen off othe board would really help. Those two issues combine make the prduction not great. The content is great but...again TY for doing this.
Yes these videos were made 5 years ago... hopefully with future videos we've learned something about the need for quality equipment and lighting, but I can't guarantee that I'm ashamed to say. A die-hard TH-camr, I am not.
My worry is that there is not much variability in the game ... it seems like the setup determines a lot of things for 2-3 turns and by the time any interesting strategy can manifest itself in production the game is already decided ... that is not a simulation sandbox but more like a repeat of what happened historically with very minor variability. I would contrast this to Triumph&Tragedy ... even though that does not have the Asian theater ... what are your thoughts on this issue?
I recommend asking on BGG or the Discord channel. discord.gg/ywrjTHD as my response is obviously biased. I think there's lots of replayability and variability.
That's a very broad question... but basically the teams are fixed throughout all 4 scenarios... Allied Forces vs the Axis. Discussions among allies are allowed at any time and may be secret. Threats, taunts, rebukes, and such are permitted but only if all players accept this is merely a game/abstract simulation. There is no rule requiring any player uphold an agreement, but players might not invite such a player to play again if there is 'jerkiness' going on.... Resources, territory control and Units are NOT freely interchangeable among allies. Let me know if you have any specific questions... Also here is the rulebook link... drive.google.com/open?id=1zrMpe7wjtxmo3XNRw490glrnEKpInKFJ
Larry says despite their fame, too minor for the Global scale. WR Game also starts in Spring '42 which is at the tail end of the Flying Tigers heyday (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Tigers). It could be a fun mini-expansion or house rule of 1 US fighter placed in China.
We have found that the Axis has the advantage, so long as they take advantage of their early lead. USSR quickly slides into big stress trouble, and is approaching economic collapse by the time the US arrives. The German player would do well to continuously bolster their Luftwaffe with production. Bombers kept in range of London deters production there, so it falls to the US to provide forces for both UK defense and retaking of Soviet production territories in the north.
USA can give Japan fits, landing in far eastern Soviet Union and pressing in on valuable Japanese territories. Again, a Japanese Air Force helps slow this down, and bombers can make short work of the Soviet rail system, making the US march towards Europe a slow process.
@@alphaomegacomics3550 There's a rule called the Stalin Rule that prevents allies from moving into USSR territory until the USSR is in the yellow zone for Homeland status. It's in the rulebook. For the second edition it's called the Stalin Doctrine, and it's no longer optional. They also changed it from the Yellow Zone to the Red Zone.

@@NightingaleGamesLLC Great. Looking forward to them. :)
That would be nice! We need much more videos of actual gaming sessions, like the ones you did 1,5 years ago..

Our group has played twice so far and both times axis has won.
Where do I find information about diplomacy in this game?

There is no diplomacy. Axis & Allies are set. Neutral powers turn against their attacker.
Where are the flying tigers?

@@NightingaleGamesLLC but A&A 1942 revised and classic start in Spring 1942 and theres an American fighter in China.
@@cadjebushey6524 It was Larry's choice. Not sure of the exact rationale. I will ask him.
