The amount of perfection required for Malenia is insane. I mean, you have to parry her 3 times before she staggers. It took me a week to beat her, and I thoroughly learned her patterns and AI tendencies and it was still so hard to not get caught here and there. Even this guy could've easily failed at 2:14, that was a risky attack.
That move either finishes which would mean he gets a knock down, or she does the hover move, which comes out really slowly. It wasn't risky at all, it was calculated.
These fights are so beautiful and fun to watch i much prefer watching these than *FIST ONLY NG+7 ALL BOSSES AT THE SAME TIME* honestly no one wants to sit for 18 min watching some dude slowly peck away at a huge bosses health pool
0:32, 1:04, 1:21 you can see how malenia just straight up "parries" out of the knockdown to immediately leap back (this can happen when she feels like it and she's not limited to leaping back as she can immediately combo straight into the ground quick triple swipes); i think i remembered someone did extensive testing and showed that malenia literally cheats when she can straight up hyperarmor through any posture breaks which is not the case for any other enemy in the game, making it so you cant stagger her when she does any attacks that have hyperarmor At 1:30, she literally cant die via riposte, and this isnt even the 1hp phenomenon, i've done dagger parry only malenia b4 and i've literally riposted her again even after she has no visible red health, multiple times, without her healing, and it never transitions to phase 2 Phase 2 (and heard elajjaz mention it b4) she gets a counter kick thing where she literally straight up go to the kick as in 1:56, 2:05. Making it very dangerous to overcommit any attacks and you basically gotta always be prepared to react to the kick I've done malenia different ways from level 1, to just parry only...etc and every fight makes me really hate her fight more, still amazed you can stomach fighting Malenia and props to you rekting her in so many different ways despite her literally cheating and not playing by the rules of the game.
