- There are few that carry a reputation as infamous as Chris. After rising to fame following countless reviews by individuals such as H3H3 Productions, he has fallen from grace very heavily, ultimately leading to a very subtle disappearance rarely discussed in the TH-cam community. Today I wanted to dive into that disappearance. Where did he go? What was his reasoning behind quitting TH-cam? What was the motive for him to stay anonymous after his infamous TH-cam career was over?

I’ll never forget when I was babysitting a 7 year old one time and I’m in the kitchen getting some food and from the other room I hear the Prank Invasion intro just blasting. I couldn’t believe I actually heard it not as a meme and I confronted the kid for shits and gigs and he was literally begging me to not tell his parents. One of the funniest times I ever had babysitting.

It's so funny that H3H3 was this giant that would step on anyone that would falter and mess with others, but then they would pretty much falter in the same way years later and fall into the same hole as they people they reviewed.

Faking pranks led to short term spikes in views but had an inevitable outcome of irrelevance and non-profitability. When the channels started faking pranks, it was almost like they knew they were jumping on a burning plane but did it anyway for the temporary spikes in views.

in a way it's kind of like the bubble in economics. it kept getting interesting to the point that doing prank vids was pretty much a money maker until several factors (oversaturation of channels, repetitiveness of the content, the end of popular trends, growing corporate censorship on youtube, etc.) eventually caused that gigantic bubble to burst and overnight turned youtube pranking from being massive money makers to being pathetic jokes that are money pits.
What really makes people mad are social experiments.

In life, there's that saying “fake it until you make it.” There is so much a person can hide and Chris is a perfect example of abusing it and he paid dearly for it. Also others such as Vitalyzdtv and Fouseytube are other great examples of their success and downfalls.
I can't believe people actually believed that girl was his sister. It clearly wasn't. He just did that video to cause controversy and publicity and it worked.

I knew from the moment it started that prank channels would be short lived. I didn't expect it to happen so fast. What really surprised me is how few violent incidents occurred in spite of the level of outrage they created. I'm glad it as an era is finally over.
