Here are some other keyboards in this style if this is your kind of thing: Lofree Flow Nuphy Air 75 V2 MX Keys Mechanical Keychron K3 Pro Redragon K652 Of all of these, I feel that the Lofree Flow has the best typing experience and sound. Somehow they managed to get a low-profile keyboard to sound "thocky," and a nice creamy thock at that. Admittedly, it's not without its flaws as well. The keycaps are not shine-through, and there they are just translucent enough to show a strange bar of light through the keycap when it's dark in your room--very odd. I recommend the tactile version of this keyboard with the black keycaps. A lot of people swear by the Nuphy Air, and it does look great, but I don't like the way it sounds as much and it shares the same flaws as most of its low-profile competitors. The key travel distance is short, and therefore promotes typing mistakes that don't happen with normal height caps or scissor switch "chiclet" style keyboards. This may just be my personal preference of course, but the ONLY low-profile keyboard I've tried that somehow fixes these typing issues is the Lofree Flow. Let's be honest, you get what you pay for. I own the Redragon Horus and that low profile keyboard suffers from similar issues: mushy keys, low-quality sound, and an overall rather poor typing experience when compared to mid-tier aluminum mechanical keyboards. I thought I wouldn't like this style of keyboard when I tried the MX Keys Mechanical and the Redragon Horus, but I changed my mind after getting my Lofree Flow, which has since become the keyboard I bring with me when using my laptop on the go.
8:55 just to clarify that the Keychron K3 Pro have White only and RGB versions but you cannot do that per-key RGB thing tho. Actually, as far as light goes, it's basically useless because the keys are not shine through (the legends don't lit), but you get a much better plastic material that won't loose it's paint and sound better. Tradeoff, tradeoff.... You also have the choice of hotswapable switch or not and Brown/Blue/Red switches. And it's very confusing when going on Amazon and see about six K3 Pro with different prices and not notice the three words that change in the product name which is truncated on mobile. Don't ask me how I know...
USB dongle is irreplaceable if you use a USB-C docking monitor where you connect multiple computers, so you don't have to pair the bluetooth everytime or switch the channels
I use the K3Pro RGB and have ordered a set of key caps from XVX that are supposed to be compatible. You get, of course, two sets of keys with the RD, but they are not double shot PBT as far as I know. I have used the RD K621 for about a month, and I call that my rattler. I need to lube that thing, but Kemove is taking their sweet time with my order. I like my Keychron very much, the way it sounds and the way it types, I always loved typing on a laptop. I found the Redragon rattle so much that I was planning on replacing the brown back to red and sell the board. That is why I am happy I tried the K1 V2 first, but that battery would not charge. And it was a good typing experience, but this K3Pro is a step up from that, if that is even possible. For 30 minutes, I had the G915TKL on my desk, connecting through what??? Mini USB? In 2023?, yeah, no. I am a difficult to please customer, I am sure I get that label pressed on my name. But delivering a keyboard in a self fabricated box with no manuals, with no cable and nothing, just the keyboard because I chose to take the warehouse deal.... bah humbug.
I haven't seen videos of the Redragon K661 but it looks the same as this one (K652), do you know if there are any differences between those two models? TIA
Very true. I realize why not many people talk about the battery. There could be a few reasons for this... I think, first, it's the pressure to get these reviews out quicker... so there's not much time to do a longer term test as far as battery life is concerned. The second reason I would say is that most of these types of keyboards aren't really known for their battery life. I would say in general, non-mechanical keyboards tend to have much better battery life. With that said, this keyboard actually has better battery life than other keyboards I've used in the past. It definitely has much better batter life than my Keychron keyboards.
I just got this with the brown switches and it's definitely too mushy for me. Wanted to try out a low profile keyboard at a low price instead of $100+ for a Nuphy or Keychron but unfortunately this isn't a good alternative for me.
I haven’t tried the Nuphy, but the Keychron K3 Pro is currently my everyday keyboard and I think it’s well worth the extra money over their non-pro keyboards.
I got the Nuphy Air75 v2 with cowberry switches, I absolutely love it, sounds thoccy too with these switches after double checking with all the ones Nuphy gives you for free in the package.
@jamesvella Nice. I’m still loving my Keychron K3 Pro but I’ve been hearing great things about the Nuphy keyboards. I’m loving almost everything about my Keychron, but it does lack that thoccy sound. I’m not sure if I can justify buying another keyboard :-)
@@EverydayTechTV Haha understandable, I dont think you are missing out on much. I was almost about to buy the keychron before I found the Nuphy. Sure the sound could make a slight difference but over time I think it doesnt matter so much as your ears get used to it. If it does bother you theres always mod tape and kinetic sand you could spend a day on playing with :)
@@EverydayTechTV hmmmn a bit contradictory.. I just asked red dragon right now.. they say it's hotswapp? 😅 but other shops say it isn't? whats the truth tho?
Anyone that can't type accurately 65wpm should just get a cheap K68 £30 with BT, 2.4GHZ, no backlighting and 2AAA batteries last for months when using it for 4 hours a day 5 days a week. Amazing value. I was going to get the Redragon K652 until I heard about the sticky keys.
You're the only one out of 5 reviews I skimmed through that shows how to actually activate the BT modes. Thanks!!
Here are some other keyboards in this style if this is your kind of thing:
Lofree Flow
Nuphy Air 75 V2
MX Keys Mechanical
Keychron K3 Pro
Redragon K652

Well, this is a nice comprehensive video. ❤
just got mine with the red switches. the typing experience was great and it works well with my hp pavilion x360 dh0xxx laptop with zero latency.
As a couch gamer, function at 8:20 sold me
Very low letter contrast. I have this keyboard and read letters is difficult.
Keychron has a MAX series now with reduced sound, 2.4 GHz dongle and ISO layout, which is nice.
Just searched... looks very intriguing. I don't necessarily need reduced sound. :-) It's part of the charm of these keyboards.
Thanks for the input.
The keycron does come with rgb and i am quite sure that those switches have different brands. Can't tell for sure but mine has gateron.
What's the battery capacity of Redragon one ?
USB dongle is irreplaceable if you use a USB-C docking monitor where you connect multiple computers, so you don't have to pair the bluetooth everytime or switch the channels
So true.
i have this keyboard and the keychron k3, i prefer the keychron k3, its more smooth to type on
Can i change the switches to kailh switches?
Why did they make the colour so similar to keychron lol

brown switches is very different from gatheron brown on keychrone?
Is there a red dragon software that I can control the rgb easier with?
Yes

Should tell the viewers how much each keyboard costs. I use the redragon k632r pro love it.
if you could swap the switches, what other switches are compatible for this keyboard?
Low profile switches of Outemu and kailh
@@skidoodlesKalih? I think they make some nice “ghost” switches…
Hi, by chance do you have the firmware for this keyboard?
Battery life, no one compares battery on these keyboards

Compared to Gatron switches, Otemu switches are cheaper
reddraon k652 is nupy air75 clone

is it really hotswappablee?
actually... you are right. I misspoke :-(
I just checked the specs again and I believe they are not. I'll have to make a correction. Sorry about that.

Hmm. The plot thickens. I’ll email the rep I’ve been talking to.
search for tl84 model, same keyboard but hot-swappable
@@s8grave damn couldn't find that model tho.
Could I use this for gaming??
Nope, this keyboard is only for typing in word/excel and calculator. Won't work with games. 😂

You've persuaded me to not buy the red dragon K652. I was almost to send online order. Cheers!
Same here was interested in the low profile but this keyboard sounds like s*** for that price you can get 100 times better keyboard like EPOMAKER EP84
Those keyboards sound awful. It's a shame, I really like the keyboard.
This keyboard totally kills others keyboard really !
¿How do you program the keyboard for the function in minute 8:20 ?
