Rivers was the offensive coordinator, OL coach, and the running back coach all rolled into one unathletic quarterback. He has the records for most completions in a row, highest completion percentage in a game, most consecutive 120+ qbr in a season. 6th all time yards and touchdowns in NFL history. The list goes on about his accomplishments in the league, unfortunately never getting the ultimate one a Championship Ring. Good luck to Justin Herbert, it takes more than being a great QB to get a ring. Dude was a leader of men.
Lifelong Chargers fan. Even aware of him, and watched, at NC state. I'm sensitive to any criticism of Rivers. Not mobile, he stood in there in a muddy pocket unflappable for years. And accurate despite that not-so-beautiful release. But he had a quick release which helped. For whatever reasons, just didn't have the postseason success as much as you'd hope, but they did win some playoff games. Played on torn up knee in 2007 afc title game, they kept it hush-hush a little. That 2009 jets game😫ugh. Judt like 2006 Patriots, if the DB goes down after the INT its game over. 2006 & 2009 they had to be jinxed, all they had to do was get to the AFC title game against Colts. Not dumping on the Colts. Many players Peyton, Saturday, have said it too. They had the Colts number through regular season and playoffs through all those years. 2010 #1 offense , #1 defense first time ever, I watched those games. Epic self-destruction on special teams. Just snakebit. Air Coryell couldn't make it. Dan Marino. 1998 Vikings, how did that team not win SB, he misses the first kick all year. Unbelievable. It's like Mike Lombardi says, it's not just the right head coach. Owner, GM, head coach, OC, DC, (look at the collapse when teams lose great assistants, it's never the same.....usually), bringing in the right players that fit your system and are all in. Alignment. It takes alignment of all those factors , and catch lightning in a bottle. Its really hard for everything to line up, then win all those postseason games. I still find it hard to believe the '07 & '11 Giants won SB. Other Coughlin teams had better record, they also had a lot of seasons with worse records. Somehow they caught lightning in a bottle those 2 years.
As immobile as he was, he was still quick on his feet when he'd drop back to pass, and quick to move up in the pocket if it started closing in on his sides. And what a quick release he had!
Wish he would of played another year with us, sad thing is the kicker missed a field goal in the playoffs last second so we lost Safe to say that kickers no longer with us Colts had a really good defense, and still does, Anyways the new HC Is gonna bring the team places
The weapons weren't yet mature last year. Remember the balls TY dropped the first few games last year? If he caught those, they would've won the division....
Wentz literally had all the same offensive weapons that Rivers had in 2020. This video really puts into perspective how terrible Wentz was at knowing his offense and utilizing them properly. Not saying it's ALL his fault as the coaching and play calling has something to do with it as well. But damn did Phil make this offense look good. Hope Matty Ice can do the same!
Wow I have your notifications turned on and TH-cam didn't tell me about this video smh... Nevertheless, you never fail to make an amazing video brother good stuff!
That, my friends, is how you play the quarterback position…. And don’t forget, this was a new team to him AND he didn’t have a preseason due to COVID. Oh, ya, and his arm looks fine to me……
Rivers had no mobility and no arm strength. After a season of Wentz, I miss that old guy. I wasn't a fan of the Rivers deal. He just wasn't going to stretch defenses. But after watching Wentz, Rivers made that guy look like a mediocre backup -- which is what I think he is.
I’m probably overreacting but I hope we trade wentz. Denver is probably desperate enough to take him. He’s a good guy and he has talent but he makes terrible decisions when it matters most. We were 9-6 and needed one win to get into the playoffs, and this guy threw for 148 yards and then 185. He’s never won a big game in his life and I don’t see that changing. I know there’s not much better out there but at this point I’d trade for Jimmy G and see what he can do for us. I know Jimmy isn’t very talented but he’s clutch and he’s won 70% of his starts.
Me too. Maybe I am crazy but I think Watson is a good pick for us. I know he hasn’t played a lot in the Texans this season but at least he can do the job in 3rd downs. Maybe we can offer Wentz and another player.
@Aron Yeah I said Watson in terms of consistency in throwing and vision. Rodgers’ salary is insane, but if we can trade Wentz and someone with a big salary to the Broncos to someone in their defense and maybe a substitute of Eric Fisher, we’ll save a lot of SC (Salary Cap) and maybe, get Arod.
He had 3 more TDs & 4 fewer ints *but* Carson played in 1 more game, had 606 fewer yards, fewer yards per attempt, fewer per completion, much lower completion percentage, lower rating, lower QBR, & fumbled 6 more times. O-line was banged up, but Wentz got to play with a back who moved into MVP contention status as Jonathan Taylor went from 1169 yards to 1811 yards. Not saying one of them is better than the other, just pointing out that TDs/INTs are far from the full picture.
They aren't even comparable. Rivers is all time 6th in yards and touchdowns in NFL history. Rivers was unathletic person but a leader of men. Wentz is talented and athletic, and couldnt lead his way out of a paper bag
Never would’ve thought I would miss Philip after 1 year of retiring 😂
I sure do miss him after having to watch Wentz throw the ball for 17 games.
I'll take this as a "I want Rivers back" video. Me too.
Those games aganist the bengals and packers were my favorite from 2020 man I miss rivers
Look at how quickly he releases the ball!

God damn I miss rivers so much 😭
We didn’t know what we had until it was gone
Philip rivers actually passed the ball fast with accuracy while Wentz passes slow with bad accuracy.
I was just thinking about Rivers 😔
I love seeing the defense blitz Rivers and he throws a bomb for 50 yards
Im so glad another franchise got to see how amazing he is as a QB
Wish he would of played another year with us, sad thing is the kicker missed a field goal in the playoffs last second so we lost
Safe to say that kickers no longer with us
Colts had a really good defense, and still does, Anyways the new HC Is gonna bring the team places
Future NFL Hall of Fame 😊
And I gave this man such a hard time 😔
Atleast you can admit it. He was very unappreciated
Can't wait for the 2:00 Wentz 2021 highlight video
This makes me believe it’s 100% a Wentz issue and not a receivers issue
I miss watching the ball come out quick like this lol. Memories. Don’t miss holding my breath on deep balls though
Yeah cause with wentz you know the ball wont even get deep enough for a completion
@@danknasty5964 to his credit his consistently under thrown balls generated a ton of PI calls... but I don't think he did that on purpose.
Thank you. I need some good things after Carson season
Rivers sure did love pascal and TY
I think Campbell was Rivers receiver of choice, too bad he got hurt early in the season
He liked Marcus Johnson too. Kind of bummed when he left
I don’t want to hear that Wentz didn’t have weapons. Rivers did that with the same exact receivers.
The weapons weren't yet mature last year. Remember the balls TY dropped the first few games last year? If he caught those, they would've won the division....
I just wish Wentz would at least make 65% of his passes, his elusiveness is insane but his accuracy and decision making is dog shit.
King is back!
Man o man I wish he would’ve stayed at least one more year….

Wow this came at a bad time for us fans 🥺😭😢. #ColtsNation

Rivers in 2022 for the Colts is not out of the question.
Rivers was friggen good
This is therapeutic right now 😂
Could've uses him this past sunday
More like this whole season
Philip was way better than Carson he didn’t throw with his left hand when he was about to get sacked
Wonder why he retired a d didnt play one more year.
Hey man Im from Ohio and I have to pay a fortune to watch any Colts games. Do you know of any streaming service that isnt outrageous? (Worth a shot)
Yeah Amazon prime
Really wished he stayed one more year with us and we could have avoided wentz!
Subtle timing on this video lol

Coming back now after Wentz AND after Ryan, how do you all feel about Rivers now? To call those two miserable would be a massive understatement.
Missed you… were the music at though?
Did you guys actually critisize rivers when he played for you?
I see CT graduated from Troll So Hard University 😁

@Aron Wilson is gonna stay at Seattle

Or maybe a Tight end instead of the defensive player?
This is just mean 😢
Rivers had less touchdowns and more interceptions in 2020 than Wentz had in 2021.
