I dont dress my baby in clothes that reference dating (“sorry boys, daddy says no dating” etc) or anything sexual. I just find it so inappropriate and when its dealing with kids i dont think its funny. OP is definitely not the AHole

I don't like them either. My MIL got a onesie like that and I never put her in it. Especially since she had 1,000 other outfits from premie to 4T

You are ALWAYS supposed to give a gift receipt when it comes to clothes. ESPECIALLY baby clothes that can be too small or too big!

Also I genuinely prefer plant based meat just because I have food sensory issues and couldn't stand getting a fatty bite, that's really what made my decision tbh

Vegan myself, we dont have popeyes here though so cant comment on that. I'm not vegan because I don't think meat or dairy tastes bad, I'm doing because I don't want the harm, mistreatment and death of another animal for my meal when I can have a plant based alternative. I've not missed meat myself, and the alternatives that are made give me a harm free way of having meals I used to have before.
Saying all that, it's a NTA for me, it sounds a lot like the husband isn't behind the diet change. He likely sneaks food whwn away from home or the wife isn't around because its not something he is doing for himself, so I don't see the chicken sandwiches are a bad thing to gift him. However he and his wife need to have a good chat about how they do this, because she has no right over his diet and beliefs, but he also shouldn't be just going along with it and doing things behind her back. You can have a plant based diet in the household, but then he is allowed whatever he wants elsewhere if that's his choice

With the baby clothes thing, i find those "jokes" very disgusting because you are literally sexualizing a baby. Also surprsingly, you can find those online! No customization needed. People have full blown store fronts with those baby clothes. And in my experience, those same people who always defend stuff like that try to claim gay people are the ones sexualizing kids 🤦🏾 and with the girl being oblivious story, i truly think she didn't see it. I really believe guys and girls can just be friends, but from what i've experienced in my life/ what i've seen on the internet, guys tend to go into friendships with women with ulterior motives and women usually just want a friend. And women are often very close with their friends so things like offering car rides, asking to hang out at random points in time, or some other things that would be seen as flirting to guys is not a "weird" thing for them.

First story, I’m a vegetarian and I personally stopped eating meat ten years ago but my partner is still a meat eater. You can’t stop people from eating food that’s not fair and potentially unhealthy. I would say that vegan and vegetarian products are made to be accommodating to a variety of cooking goals and not all are aiming to imitate meat. I can respect texture issues that is out of peoples control.

bruh. if you haven't tried oyster mushroom nuggets that shit is so delicious. obviously depends on how you feel about mushrooms but so far that was probably the closet thing i've had that had the same vibe of a chicken nugget. but the best part of chicken for me was always the skin, i never really cared about the meat so if a place has good breading then breaded oyster mushrooms are the goat for me.

I'm a woman who never understood when someone was flirting with me. I just thought it was a stupid joke or didn't see it at all. I'm sad to say I think it's because of low self-esteem. The idea that someone would flirt with me does not exist in my brain. I've seen other people flirt with each other, too! It's just a blind spot, I guess.
I'm married now so it's fine.

in the "i told you so" story, i suspect that it's just a misunderstanding, NAH. It is understandable for her to get upset. If he was expecting her to cut off the friendship with anyone he suspected, that would be bad and controlling , but i don't think he meant that. He probably didn't communicate clearly that he trusts her. That "i told you so" can easily come off as "you were wrong". And she wasn't wrong to give her friend the benefit of the doubt either.

Speaking from experience, I was pescatarian for 2 1/2 years and they open the Popeyes near my job and yes, I ended up getting a chicken sandwich along with my coworkers, one of which also was pescatarian and we ended up eating those sandwiches and they were delicious and unfortunately it did bring us back to eating meat, so is it worth it? I would say the sandwich definitely is delicious I don’t like that I’m eating meat again which is pretty unhealthy so no it’s not completely worth it because I’d rather be doing that diet only now it’s really hard to go back.

I understand the girlfriend's position that she feels her boyfriend shouldn't be telling her who she can be friends with, and that she was upset he was all, "I told you so" when it turned out that friendship had ulterior motives. But it's not like he was like this with ALL of her guy friends. Just a couple that were clearly interested, from his perspective. Even if she was right, that the friendships were totally platonic, I feel like it's just being respectful to your partner to distance yourself from a friend that makes your partner uncomfortable. Just putting up some boundaries, not completely cutting the friendship off. A real friendship would be able to withstand that. A friendship that is one person hoping to become something more wouldn't. So I don't really blame the boyfriend for rubbing it in because she dismissed his feelings, and now he's dismissing hers. But if they are going to have a chance at making their relationship work, they are going to have to treat each other with more respect going forward.
EDIT: I wrote the above before I saw the last of the discussion. Sam, you are WRONG. Men are NOT the only ones that get shoved into the friend zone and stick around hoping that the person will change their mind. (I wasted my mid-twenties pining after a guy that friend zoned me, hoping he'd turn around one day and realize he was in love with me. It still hurts to think about, 10 years later.) Women are just as devious and/or pathetic, if not MORE so. Have you never seen Mean Girls? Women are much better at playing the platonic best friend than a guy is. There are definitely stories out there where the exact same situation happened where the genders were reversed. A girlfriend is jealous of the platonic relationship he has with a girl. It's obvious to her that this female best friend has romantic feelings. She brings it up with the boyfriend. He dismisses it out of hand because he thinks she "doesn't understand" their friendship. Meanwhile, the female best friend knows the boyfriend far better than the new girlfriend, so she's able to manipulate him into thinking GF's unreasonably jealous and possibly makes a move while he's angry at his GF. If he's a decent guy, it will go like this reddit story and he'll realize GF was right. If he's a jerk (which seems to me most likely what will happen) he'll cheat on GF with best friend. But you are right, Sam, that you are better off just calling it a loss if someone you want puts you in the friend zone. I just want to point out that it's true for BOTH genders.

Whether it’s a gift or not, you shouldn’t have to be grateful for something that’s offensive to you. It was entirely inappropriate. You don’t have to ask for the gift receipt, but you can say I don’t appreciate this gift and it was a offensive to me and it hurt my feelings to that person and if they decide to exchange or return , that’s up to them.

Story 1 - If the brother isnt actually vegan as part of his values, then absolutely no problem with the gift. And his partner should take that as a wakeup call to give that guy some free days.
Story 2 - I agree that a gift is a gift not an entitlement. Once gifted, one can keep it, bin it or donate it. Even if someone gives something in poor taste (which is very subjective on both sides) or even if it's outright a revenge gift, I think it's pure entitlement to go back to them for receipts like that. Sizing issues is different, but even then, I wouldn't bother.
Story 3 - Yeah, look I get why he said it, but no one likes gloating and I can see why she's pissed at him. Basically it was a timing issue. I’m sure he could have gotten a chance to get credit for his insight once she was past her hurt and shock in the moment.

him getting his brother a sandwich is totally fine since he was clearly happy about it. however, his flippant response to the wife was not cool. he knows her diet choices (not mine but go off) meant a lot to her and he blew her off to her face when she said she was upset. saying sorry takes two minutes, especially when it’s someone your brother cares about enough to stop eating chicken for.

NTA for gifting the sandwich. As the SIL said its "her beliefs", not BILs. As a vegan I would never force someone, esp my partner, to eat vegan (tho my partner does love vegan food)
However Sam you got me heated bc no, I'm not trying to eat food that mimics meat, I'm just tryna eat good tasty food.
What does meat taste like? Nothing really. What you're tasting is seasonings and flavor of other ingredients. Other wise if meat was so naturally tasty, why would we even bother seasoning it? Or adding sauces to it?
There's no meat option that would make me eat meat again bc honestly, meat is really gross when you think about it for a couple minutes. All that blood and nasty ish? Nah thanks.
We don't need to be so reliant on meat as a food source in modern times anyways so it just really doesn't make sense to me and the thought of meat makes me ill as is anyways.
Animals deserve better too. There were 16,000 chickens who died all at once bc a fire destroyed the shed they were in recently. 16,000. In one space. Its fucked up. Animals deserve better than being cooped up in dark cramped spaces, fattened up and slaughtered for our gluttony.
Just because you cant fathom not eating meat doesnt mean those of us who choose not to eat it are lying to ourselves about wanting to eat meat. It's the most annoying thing to be told tbh.

I'm vegetarian and have been for the past 10 years. I care about animals, of course, however for me the main reason is that as long as I can remember I've always been freaked out by the idea of what meat is and where it comes from. Like since I was a young child I could never disassociate or separate the animal from the food, and like, I don't wanna eat a dead animals flesh 😩 However, I can 100% agree with Sam saying that vegan meats are there bc it's what tastes good because even though the thought of what it is freaks me out, and I know I'll never eat meat again, I can't deny that a chicken burger tastes gooood!
