I think the neutral colors are a good idea. I did the same thing with our living & dining rooms so that I could easily change things as seasons, holidays, & trends change. I didn't want the rooms to get dated or stale too quickly since. I'm not a fan of repainting or of replacing furniture often. And I don't even rent out any rooms for events.
Neutral colours make perfect sense for your intent to decorate seasonally and for guest events. I recall you mentioning this in an earlier video. I for one, am looking forward to seeing how the rooms change from one season to another and, when you decorate for events.

Neutral is always best. Not everyone loves color. You want your rooms to be almost timeless because you don't need or have time to constantly change them with new trends.

I personally love the neutral colors. It allows for fabrics choices of any type/color to be used without worrying about if it will clash with paint colors. It is a smart design choice.
I will just add my yes to your plan with the neutral colors. I do wonder how you will accommodate so many couches in one room but that is why I watch. I like to see what you end up doing. I think one of my favorite parts of watching all the chateaux channels that I do is to see where different owners put their stamp on their own homes. For example Stephanie, she has loads of color and layers of design. However, she has been working on her home for 16 years. Terry and Ash have a very specific time period and design that they want for their 400 and 401 suite. But they have been collecting furniture for years. It’s been an awful mustard yellow for about 20 years before so I needed neutral to move past what my mind was conditioned with. Good job and good thinking. These chateau owners are not stupid.

Well said. This is a huge and costly project. Staying within the realm of base colours being neutral with adding in colours that can be changed easily and without draining the bank is wise. Also neutral colours can be restful and serene. AND if you wish to get gutsy later in some areas then go for it.

Danielle check out Tinsmiths who do quite a wide range of double width fabrics and are reasonably priced. I just used one of the double width fabrics in the dining room and I couldn't get over how much time it saved. Agree with your idea of neutral walls and sofas as you said you can then ring the changes with throws and cushions. Even with curtains you can add a dress curtain over or under the main curtains which don't used a lot of fabric, can be lighter weight and changed with the season or removed. Also when you add the artworks you mentioned it will add colour and texture. You are doing a great job.❤

For when we have bookings for large families / friends we will be able to provide them with the option of having all the chairs in one space so everyone can socialise together, or we have other smaller rooms where the chairs can move to when we don’t need so much accommodation in the salon. 🥰❤️
