I have tested batteries, and they have good capacity. When I connect my Skyrc MC3000 to my computer and graph the charge and discharge I see glitches in the voltage output of some of the batteries. I do not trust that a battery is good if it has good capacity.
When I test batteries now, I cycle the batteries with a cycle count of three (C>D>C>D>C>D>C) before I actually test them. To test them I do another three cycles in my MC3000 and graph the voltage, current, capacity and temperature. Most pass, but some fail. Some fail to charge because of high temperature. I then do a Breakin followed by another three cycles and then retest. Most likely they have high resistance and cannot be saved. Some have erratic capacity, and I then do a Breakin, three cycles and then retest. If they just have erratic voltage, I just do another three cycles and then retest. This saves most batteries. Mostly I use the MC3000 to test and graph the results. I have a C2000 and an eight-slot charger/conditioner for the other functions and to find the capacity. I then use the eight-slot charger to find the capacity of each battery that has passed the tests. I then sort the batteries by capacity and put them in a first in, first out holder. When I remove the batteries from the holder the batteries next to each other have about the same capacity and each battery is used before any are reused. The charger is sensitive and sometimes will not charge a battery that looks good in other tests. I then Breakin, cycle and retest those batteries.

@BobFutscher-be9kr Bob, thanks for your detailed information. I can see your point that good capacity doesn't necessarily indicate a good battery. I'm just a novice and have never used an oscilloscope, computer, or any other advanced testing gear to check batteries. In addition, the things I use batteries for are not critical. Many years ago, I worked as a borehole directional surveyor, sending instruments down boreholes containing batteries. That was a really critical operation that demanded perfect batteries. Your comments are interesting.

Should I get the Xtar VX4 or the Vapcell S4 plus? Thanks for the help.

I don't know! At first, I didn't realise how many brands there are - a lot. I have no experience of Xtar, Nitecore, Opus, and many others. My experience with the Vapcell is that I had to get it replaced after a few months because two slots stopped working. It also seems slow compared to my other chargers. The repair I did with it took almost 100 hours. However, it can handle Li-Ion as well as Ni-CD and Ni-MH, and it can also do big batteries. All of the chargers have pros and cons, and it depends very much on your needs. Sorry I can't answer your question.

    Hello phil
Been on vacation so not been watching much. Suoer glad to hear you had your vapecel replaced in the end, so funny i only friday just gone purchased the skyrc mc300 v2 charger.
Must admit it has a lot of optikns but loving it so far as you said feel the quality is there indeed.
My isdt c4evo and isdt n16 gave up the ghost.
Lobing them ladda batteries though whats your thoughts lng term on them .??
Enlerloop work brilliant but xost is stupid now per pack but in certain devices they are a must.
But so glad to see you posting and by all acoounts your sounding well and seem to have another toy ( charger ) to keep you busy for a while, i will attempt to read the mc300 manual weekend hopefully.

Hi! As the kids get older, and also having a working wife, I'm just so busy all the time. I haven't done anything on TH-cam for months, and I've been trying to catch up.
The SkyRC MC3000 is a great charger, but too complex for me! I've been enjoying using the NC2500 Pro in the short space of time that I've had it.
I think the Ladda batteries are great. Someone who watched one of my videos did some real-world testing using flashlights and concluded that they are just as good as Eneloops.
They're generally cheaper, and where I am, there is a big problem with fake Eneloops. Laddas don't seem to have the same problem.
Good luck with that manual! The video I watched showed all kinds of esoteric options, and I believe you can also program the charger. Thanks for your comment!

Which one better? Skyrc nc2500 or powerex

@mussgaming8749 Good question! I'm hesitant to say at the moment because I haven’t had the SkyRC very long, and I haven't had a chance to see if any problems show up. I'm therefore still uncertain about its long-term reliability. I've had the Powerex for a few years now, and it hasn't given me any problems at all.
They're both good chargers. The advantages of the SkyRC are that it has 6 slots, and there are additional parameters to select when charging if you have in-depth knowledge of rechargeable batteries. A disadvantage is that the slots can't be programmed individually. The Powerex only has four slots, but each slot can be set to perform a different function if required. It's a close call, but provided there aren't any reliability issues with the SkyRC, I would the SkyRC is probably the better charger.
