I live by the beach in California I think it's really cold when it's in the mid 40s, that's as cold as it ever gets here and that's very unpleasant. I've never seen snow, at least not here. I've gone and traveled to it before but wherever you are sounds like the inversion of "hell" if it was an "icy horribly cold burning place" that's what I would think of "Windshield Factor". Yeah - all of that technique, Master Class nuance and conveying of emotion in his story telling and then consider; he is singing in Japanese; a langague he doesn't speak, but has learned phonetically. And Japanese reactors are saying his pronunciation is very good {of course!} You will notice in numerous pieces that Dimash often 'conducts' his voice with his hands, as well as his whole body. There is very little in perfomance that Dimash does that is unintentional, but you're right, it's not just for show. Here, and also if you see him 'drawing the line' of the end note in his Digital Show version of SOS, it's clear that this is also part of his neuroprocessing - bedding down the muscle memory - complementing the vocal instrument. 😊👍

We must remember he was not raised in America, and both of his parents were performers. His parents Sveta and Kanat Aetbayeva once asked him why he threw out his hand as if seeking applause. The Abu Tv song festival is the largest concert for professional musicians in Asia, which takes place as part of the annual general assembly of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, to which Dimash is invited.

Yeah - all of that technique, Master Class nuance and conveying of emotion in his story telling and then consider; he is singing in Japanese; a langague he doesn't speak, but has learned phonetically. And Japanese reactors are saying his pronunciation is very good {of course!}
You will notice in numerous pieces that Dimash often 'conducts' his voice with his hands, as well as his whole body. There is very little in perfomance that Dimash does that is unintentional, but you're right, it's not just for show. Here, and also if you see him 'drawing the line' of the end note in his Digital Show version of SOS, it's clear that this is also part of his neuroprocessing - bedding down the muscle memory - complementing the vocal instrument. 😊👍

We must remember he was not raised in America, and both of his parents were performers.

He told them when he watched them perform, they would do that at the end of a show, and he just did what they did.

Can get colder of course but it will not last. This song was his first Japanese song. He does the song in Mandarin but it has different words I believe and it is equally as beautiful. The original Japanese version Ikanaide/ Please Don’t Go (composed 1989) is by Koji Tamaki, *1958, Japanese songwriter.
The sad true story... very touching: It is about Yoshiko Yamaguchi (*1920-2014), a Chinese-born Japanese actress during World War II. She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan and became famous in China. However, when the war was over and she revealed her identity, she was accused of being a spy. She was deported to Japan and longed for China. Ms. Yamaguchi did not return to China until many years as deputy environment minister in the Japanese parliament. The song is a metaphor as the lyrics speak of how a person should hide what they are feeling.
Koji Tamaki sent a wonderful message to Dimash, thanking him, and praising him for singing his song in Japanese.

The Chinese version shows the image of leaves dancing in the autumn wind as a metaphor for how fate affected Yoshiko Yamaguchi's life. ...sad but inevitable and irrevocably
The Japanese version does not want to accept the loss, is full of pain, pleads, suffers ... heartbreaking.
I'm totally mesmerized by how sensitively Dimash differentiates and conveys to the listener the feelings of sadness and loneliness in the Chinese version and loss and pain in the Japanese version. Even his whispers and his breath are music... it breaks my heart and the tears flow... and at the end everyone suddenly holds their breath, we hear Dimash breathing, then a deep and comforting hum.
I've never heard anything like it from a singer in my entire life. Only Dimash can do that. This is true mastery.

He's wearing red suit and is singing Mandarin.The title is Autumn Strong. A stunning performance. He also sang it on I am Singer 2017 (age22) in the fourth round of the competition.
