Comparison between Master 7 shells and Flashing Fireworks Super 7 shells. Both of these have really good breaks and nice effects. I would definitely recommend buying both.
I never understood the point in weighing a shell unless you were taking it apart and only weighing the composition itself. No way of knowing how much of that extra weight is just clay or other inert material. 6 and 7 inch shell's are a waste of money. You can only fit 60 grams of powder in a shell. Which only takes 5 inches of space to fill. So if you want an inch or two of nothing go ahead and buy them.

I used 40 seconds per ft cannon fuse set it 1-1/2" spacing per shell leader. I find for making demo videos this gives me just the right time between each shell to see the full effect.
flashing is usually compliant.. they did have a green ground bloom flower w/report that was more like an m80 but that's gone for the most paret now. only select few places have any left and unknown if they're willing to give them up since they're almost a collector's item now

I live several hours away from there and was passing through, I grabbed one of the last boxes they had. The stands here are only open for the 4th and for new years so they might be easier to find in Missouri or some other state that has stores open all year.

You can clearly see the super 7 is just a 4” shell on top a 3”… do you know why? Because there is literally no difference between a 4” shell or 5,6,7! Gram weight and how tight the shells are wrapped is all you need to look for not gimmicks
Master 6 has about 80G total in 1 shell so I would guess that the 7 has 80 as well or maybe even more. The high velocity just looks like reg shells. Nice video and thank you for the comparison!
@365_Pyro There's only 60g of powder in the break shells. They don't go very high so my guess is around 8g to 10g of lift The rest of the weight is the clay, casing and time fuse. These breaks are decent. I wouldn't say they are any bigger than a 4 or 5 inch can. If you cut into those you'll find 3 inches of nothing. They are adding extra weight with no benefit except for the buyer to think WOW look how big these are. But they are no better than a 4 inch can. Anything bigger than 4in cans are just smoke and mirrors money grab.

The Chinese comps have been pretty well protected. Generally speaking, the stars are usually finished with a thin layer of C6 Chrysanthemum as a prime (or something similar) because it's an easy comp to light and it's relatively difficult to blow out once it's burning. If you watch these consumer shells in slow-mo, you'll see that almost everything displays a little C6 for a split second before the desired effect starts to show. Also, they aren't really using straight flash, but they do use their own burst charge compositions. One I'm aware of uses KClO4, Mg/Al, S, and AL ( 5/3/1/1 )

They are still all 60 gram shells, they say 7 inches but are only 4 inches inside the 7 inch canister. If you take the top off and measure the inside you only find 4 inches in composition.

It seems the 1.4G canister shell market is moving further toward the ridiculous with each passing year. First we had the 4 inch can and that was the standard for years and years. Then a few years ago the 5 inch can appeared. Then the 6 inch can came soon afterward. Now we are up to 7 inch cans. If this trend continues, pretty soon they are going to need to start making 24 inch mortar tubes because the shells are going to become longer than the standard DR11 tubes we shoot these damn things from. Why?!?! A 60 gram shell is a 60 gram shell. It doesn't matter if you pack it into a 4 inch can or an 8 inch can. Truthfully, most of the 4 inch shells have unused space in them. This is nothing more than a gimmick to scam people who don't know any better out of their money. Unless they are overloaded (and most are not), the bigger canisters aren't any better than the 4 inch ones.

Like the other comments below.. yes these are 7" long shells.. sounds awesome.. right?? but remember we are dealing with CLASS B fireworks.. not CLASS B. The legal limit for a canister is 60G by LAW... the Firework company is making these longer to fool you into thinking your getting something better than last years 6" shell.. so they can make $$$$$ Now its possible the may make it like a 4" over 3" dbl break but still 60g limit.. or they may get around the 60g limit and have a comet tail or whisler going up thats not concidered a part of the main body of 60g.. idk.. but bottom line is 60G is 60G... anything more than that is Class B and that requires a Pyro Tech Lic.. If the Manufacture goes beyond the legal limit.. the ATF will shut them down FAST!! You dont want to mess with ATF.

Amount of composition doesn’t matter. If u focus on that you’re not gonna get a show worthy of watching (at least not in my opinion). What they do in the sky is what matters. There’s a lot you can do with 60g. And if you know what to get you can get a bit more. Some consumer products perform better in the sky than some display stuff I’ve seen for the distance ratio. Just gotta know what’s a scam and what’s not.

Weighing shells is only supposed to include powder. Wick, lift charge, and break effect are the only things we care about.

Depends which brand.. for example anything from RA is gonna be 60 grams and sometimes less. The Masters on the other hand..
