Thanks for sharing your equipment with us. Most thermal hunts just show the kills and act like their equipment. Is some kind of trade secret. Love your set up, you can tell you've been doing this for a while and know what you're talking about.
Stateside fan of the channel here. Very neatly made rifle for .308, quite nice compared to off the shelf options available for the application, I WILL say that! - I'm curious about semi auto licensing in NSW/AU.. Wasn't too sure if Aussies were even allowed them, licensing or not. But absolutely nothing wrong with bolt action in fact a lot of shooters in my region go after our feral pig problem with bolt action rifles if for no other reason they're just easier to maintain.. and a LOT cheaper to run. It's not all AR style rifles as popular lore would suggest 😂
Beautiful Rig ❤ I have an addiction problem, I'm hanging out for your videos but this one is very special, I love how you've had this rifle built/set-up and understand why you are a successful contractor. Mate keep up the great work and awesome video's ❤👍💯
Great piece of gear. Looks the part as well as doing the job ( with a little help behind the trigger 😉). Working on a Howa 1500 .223 build, devcon pillar and epoxy bedding into a laminated stock, Element 6-24 x50mm Scope, Over barrel Wildcat suppressor. Keep up the work! All the best from Ireland.
You’ll never get a semi that will hold together in a package that light. Carrying a 308 gas gun all day (or night) gets heavy. You’re fast enough on the bolt. Always enjoy the content. Cheers.
If I were to show somebody about gun safety/knowledge I’d chuck on a video of you. Very knowledgeable and responsible shooter 👍 Oh and god that’s a beautiful rifle!
I had problems years and years ago with PPU brass in my Tikka 22-250. Some wouldn’t chamber properly without a bit of ‘get in there’ and others wouldn’t extract so now I simply stick with Winchester brass and never had a problem for 10 years. Funny how rifles like certain things and then absolutely hates the next

Love this channel... makes me want to live back in Oz... 2:41 check the burr/chamfered edge of the sheety PP? Brass pills... might find the edge is slightly less rounded... (tool making past experience with die moulds)
Something I've found with PPU brass is that the inside of the recess where the extractor will grab it that its a more radiused edge than the likes of federal, hornady ect. and find my remington 700 jumps over and gets stuck. No dramas at all with my tikka or old mauser 98 bolt action and no issues in several lever actions. Very subtle difference but it's the only variable I could find opposed to FLS, trimmed and chamfered brass of several brands
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK I definitely won't be buying more and have absolutely blown my lid when I'm trying to give a fox a long nap and need a 5 ton excavator to open the bolt. I stick with my hornady and fiocchi now and have no dramas

Guess the 6BR is to much work not many contract or hunters here in the USA would consider it. I have the 6 BR but I set and shoot can’t get the bullet weight that 308 has. Looking forward to see that new rifle in action. 😊😊
Had the same problem with PPU 308win brass a few years ago. Bought some once fired at a gun show and they wouldn't extract after firing even with very mild loads in my Browning BLR. Apparently the problem is soft brass allowing the brass to expand but not shrink back like normal brass does immediately after firing. Have even come across loaded factory PPU rounds that do the same. Bin job.
@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK watched it again to see if I missed anything but I’m still curious as to the powder you landed on for you sub loads. Maybe more than you want to share. No worries if such is the case. Getting the Sub-X pills will be a challenge here being there is a shortage of anything popular. I see data suggesting pistol powders and some data showing small rifle powders, and such powders can also be hard to come by. Enjoyed your recent rabbit hunt by the way.

hmmm, was given ppu 223, but i reload ADI and was going to use the ppu if i ran out, but not reload brass. think i'll just give it a miss. tikka action unlikely to accept it. accidently mixed up hornady brass with my reloading, and it completely gave me poor groups.
