My Family lived in Pine Bluff. I grew up there. I lived by UAPB on North Hazel Street, next to the girl's dormitory. I went to Townsend Park, Pine Crest and Dollarway. I Absolutely Loved growing up there. It used to be a wonderful place to raise a family. I still look back longingly to those days of yesteryear. We moved from there on July 4, 1976. I used to fish in the Lake, the River also in the summer after they had the fishing tournament I would fish for the stocked channel catfish in Oakland Park. I learned to swim in Townsend Park's swimming pool

My family lived in Pine Bluff in the 70’s when I was a young teenager. Many changes have taken place since then, some good, and some not so good.
The area that really struck me the most is the end of Olive street where it turns into highway 15. That area used to be nothing but fields and a two lane highway. I rode a motorcycle in the field where the Walmart is. Now there’s all the shopping and the bypass.
The area behind city hall was a place us kids would go and ride around in the mud in the fields back there in 4 wheel drive trucks. I remember the city hall fire and I used to have a brick from where they tore down the rest of it.
Jefferson square is far different than it used to be. TG&Y - gone, Planet Fitness there now. A friend straightened out the recently bent bumper on his Jeep by ramming it into the big Jefferson square sign about 2am one morning 😂
It appears from the small glance I got that the first federal bank building behind the old Pines hotel isn’t there any longer.
My family and I had some good times in Pine Bluff. Back then it was a nice place to live and raise a family. I miss those days.

When i look at it, i feel sorry for the outcome of the city and the people.
I have never been there, but it feels like the county has been miss manage back in the days!
If the county cant provide education, police, hospital, kindergarten and so on everything eventually dies. Thats why tax is important!

Interesting video. You actually made Pine Bluff look like a wonderful place to live. The only problem is, it isn't. Missing from the video is the downtown area where 75% of the stores.buildings are vacant and run down. Missing are all the neighborhoods that are run down and you definitely attempt to avoid at all cost. The unemployment rate is well above the national average. The crime rate is one of the highest in the U.S. Before my mother-in-law moved out of her house, which as about 3 blocks from The Pines Mall (google it), her house had been broken into 2 times and she had been mugged while away from home 2 times. All was in a2 yr. period. When my father-in-law was alive, he had a travel trailer stolen out of the driveway, and an ATV stolen out of his enclosed garage. Pine Bluff is the azzhole of Arkansas.

Thanks for watching the video! Would you really prefer us to hunt down blight to confirm your opinion of the city. No one and no place is perfect. It's sad that your family had bad experiences in the city. We hope that you will not continue to judge an entire community for the actions of a couple of misguided souls. Have a blessed day.👍🏾

@@Kcnetwork22 I was not referring to a "couple of misguided souls". In 2024, In Pine Bluff, the rate of violent crimes is 20.87 incidents per 1000 residents, while in Arkansas it is 7.58 incidents per 1000 residents, and the national average is 4 incidents per 1000 residents. That's FIVE TIMES the national average. The population has dropped from around 57,000 in 1990, to around 37,000 in 2024. There's a reason for that. But that's okay. Everyone in my wife's family has moved out even though her brother still works at the paper mill there. Now, thank God, there is no need for me to return to that town. Yes, I am sure that there are still some fine people living there. But I would not recommend anyone to move to that city. Not if they want safety, good schools, plentiful employment opportunities, and peace of mind.
