I also bought a 2yr old Mii Electric back in August and I agree with everything you said except your comments about it not being a motorway car. I use mine every day on a 75 mile each way commute mainly on motorways with a bit of 'town' driving at the end and it's absolutely brilliant. Range wise expect about 135-140 miles on a full charge at a 60-70mph pace so I have to do a top up charge at some point during the day, but that's still brilliant economy. I love mine :-)

I bought mine in August after watching many of your videos and your review of the Citigo. We had an Up! in 2014 and loved it. This one is even better and faster. Absolutely LOVE our Mii. 2021, 3K miles, 11,900 all in.

It was the VW Group's first EV (2012),. Goes to show that the old tech is often the best, no active and energy wasting battery cooling/heating management, no silly over sized battery pack that adds weight, Yes the wheels spin on wet roads, I highly recommend getting rid of the stock tyres (Good Year Efficient grip) and getting some decent 4 season ones, it's a game changer! About the Seat App, it's a pity you didn't address the problem earlier, being a VW Group connectivity ambassador, I could have helped you with that one ;-). I'm sure you'll enjoy the little EV, we absolutely love our E-UP!

Completely right about patience and taking the opportunity when you find it. Too many purchases (not just cars) are made when you have to and you are hamstrung with what's available at the time or without due consideration of what would be sensible. The only way to get a deal is be ready when you see one - and not 'have to' get it there and then.

In side that one there seems to be a carbonised? Tiny pad also a rubber “ tube “ for want of a better word which seems to act as a soft return spring( doesn’t come out) give the pad a wipe, snapped it back in and done . I went down the same path but bought the Zoe in mid August - a close decision but I need to cover 140 and 180 mile runs now and again. I think the arrival of affordable 2nd hand EVs is a huge issue that starts the process of making EVs available to people who don't buy new and don't lease cars.

You've desribed me perfectly! I don't understand why so much focus is put on pcp's, lease plans etc. when there must be thousands out there like me, who have no interest/intention of leasing, and will happily let others take the massive depreciation hit when driving a new car off the forecourt. I am torn between the Zoe, and the Skoda/Seat/ VW trio though.

@@user-fn5bo1nn7j I was impressed with the number of reviewers who loved driving the VAG car but it is smaller with less range and a bit slower if that makes a difference - depends on your planned usage. Such a good little runaround. I loved my petrol Mii (first car)- I remember when I was shopping around and comparing a load of second hand petrol Mii, Citigo and Up! ~7 years ago. The Mii was cheapest with most tech, my budget was cheapest Citigo and mid-range Mii and the Up! was just too expensive. It really makes no sense at all when they are identical cars. Literally every component says “VW” on them, I’ve still got the faulty accelerator peddle from my Mii and it says “VW” on it!! Definitely a wise purchase with the Mii.

You have the same fault, the driver heated seat faulting out is a known fault and will be replaced under warranty as mine was in January. Regularly get 4.5 mp/kWh good luck. The up! owners club forum is worth a look for the heated seat issue. I bought new and ended up with an e-up! rather than a mii because I was able to get the up! more quickly from stock but it would be hard to justify going Vw for a second hand purchase. I’d offer the e-up for a comparison video but you would have to come to Caithness.

So this video is really interesting, because not only is the Mii right in the size window she'd be looking for, but it looks pretty well specced, it's a decent looking car, and underneath it's essentially a VW with a different badge. I'm seriously considering it, although I dare say trying to fund one right now is out of the question.
Also, this is where I have to say a massive thanks to the EV haters. Because to them, the fence-sitters appear to be turning away from the used EV market and causing them to become much cheaper. Part of the problem with these cars is cost.
Small cars are very expensive to engineer so to have any hope of being profitable it helps to have multiple versions based on the same platform, so VAG then had the VW, Skoda & SEAT versions to spread the cost, unfortunately SEAT have been underperforming for years & VW have decided to pull the plug so to speak on SEAT as a brand.
Cupra is now going to be a standalone brand rather than a trim level of SEAT.
Also the platform that the VW Up & it's sister cars are based on is now getting on a bit having first been released in 2012, I'd imagine it's probably up coming crash regulations that have probably killed it off in reality.

Wish these kinds of videos could find their way to the target audience, like my Dad, who has a total disbelief that this kind of car exists and how much better it would be than his petrol Corsa. I think smart pensioners are the ideal candidates to snap these up: on a budget, don't need anything big, would love to not have servicing costs, and would love the convenience of charging at home. Also easier to drive. If I were making more on the servicing of cars than the sale then the last thing I want is a great, affordable car, which I can't earn loads of servicing income from becoming more popular than the petrol version; if I were VAG then I'd definitely stop making that car! Just a thought. Amazingly, unlike absolutely every product you can buy in Britain, small, used EVs are cheaper here in NZ; I just bought a top of the range (leather, Bose, 360 camera...)
