Interesting that when dismounted the trombones form the front file, but when mounted its the tubas etc with the trombones in the second file. Brilliant band. Thanks for the vid.

Not your standard configuration for the mounted band, note that both drum horses are being ridden by Life Guards instead of 1 Life Guard and 1 Blues and Royals. Also are riding 8 across instead of 6, so I wouldn't infer anything from this appearance. Saying that, though, I'll have to look for them in parades to see if you're correct.

I stand corrected. I just watched the Colonel's review from 2019 and the trombones were in the second row instead of the first. Don't know why they are like that when mounted but the trombones leading the way is standard for any marching band.
