About the technocracy backing itself into a corner a fun thing to do would be to say that Webb telescope proving galaxy’s don’t work the way we thought and our understanding of space is wrong could be the technocracy trying to backtrack on their paradigm to continue advance their technology into the public.
Personally, I would have swan dived head first into a Caul and joined the Nephandi, before I even considered joining the Technocracy. A world without magic is not a world that I would want to live in, and if it looks like the Technocrats are about to fulfill their plan for mass ascension, I'd rather than just the burn universe to the ground.

A lot of new people with their own ideas came onto 20th, a lot of whom were your more modern progressive instead of the 90s progressive, resulting in a lot of the books being filled with far-left nonsense. WoD is political by nature, but the politics were logical in the original WW run.
