Counter Strike. It’s known to many as one of the biggest tactical FPS games on the market and to some, it’s known as THE FPS game to play.
With over 20 years passing since its initial release and multiple iterations of the game, this tactical shooter is now one of the biggest esport titles today. Fans worldwide witnessed years of professional gameplay, legends in the making, and teams that solidified their names on history books forever.
While Counter-Strike and many games like it were available to the public, a large demographic was blocked off simply due to an age restriction, that demographic being kids. While there are tactical FPS games now with a Teen rating like Valorant being able to disable mature graphic content, Counter-Strike is and has always been an 18+ or Mature-rated game.
That age rating was often bypassed by entering your birth year to be in the 1900s but other than that, there was no legitimate way for kids and teens to play a tactical FPS game… or was there?
Inside the sandbox world of blocks sparked a gateway for many players today, in this video, we will be covering the competitive scene of Counter Blox, Roblox’s FPS Gateway.

Phantom Forces (pre hackers in every lobby), Counter Blox, and Arsenal are pretty good versions of their respective games to get kids into shooters. It’s actually kind of nice
Phantom Forces is one of my personal favorites. You can just hop in with friends and have a good time.
Recoil, although having a small player base, is such a good game as well. Clearly based on MW 2019 but the fluidity of the gameplay is so good
Phantom Forces is unbelievably satisfying and fun. I streamed it for a couple of years on Twitch actually.

I just wish there was more correlation in regards to CBRM and the impact it had on the competitive community. The competitive community began to boom after CBRM entered the scene, as well as not highlighting all of the bad things which happened under CBCL, CBRM which were blatantly ignored. None the less, good interview - but there will probably be another video put out regarding the things which were not covered in this video.

I used to play cbro like that and seeing all these people in the video I used to play against is heartwarming that time in my life was really cringe but it got me into actual esports so im grateful for it

As a developer for ROLVe, you guys did great work on this documentary. It's interesting to see the history brought together, when in reality the pro scene was just something casual we would play around with in our free time. I started in ROLVe because I would play alot of CS:GO (4k+ hours), and I came upon a ROBLOX CS:GO video similar to this one and I had to check out the game. After playing the game I joined the competitive leagues, met some of the older developers, and the rest is history. Glad to see documentaries like this being made, great work. - Nick/PrimE_RBLX

As a person who was actually a quite involved member of this community during the CBCL and CBRM days, it does feel good for this stuff to be highlighted - but I feel like there were a lot of important aspects behind the scenes which were not noted by Proofyy or Frost, nonetheless, great video.

PLEASE do a video on the team fortress 2 competitive scene! So much history and still so many active players, love the videos on niche esports, they’ve always been my favorite
I was part of the nTn team around 2019-2020 I believe (might comeback), I went by the user NeonEverlasting, a team mostly composed of south american (and other regions) members who are pretty chill and even got deep into some tourneys. I wasn't that good lmao (200ms gang, was in europe servers at the time)
The tourneys n the competitive scene of this game brought people together and made something amazing, though it wasn't perfect (hackusations, toxicity etc its Roblox what do you expect). Despite all of that, I hope this game gets some attention from ROLVe again and it gets some well deserved updates. Not only that, the custom matchmaking servers like BloxersClub(I think its that) and CBRM are well managed and are usually an amazing place for scrims.
Shout outs to Kitter, the original skin maker of the game who was also in nTn. Thanks to him, I was inspired and got help to make the UMP Death Grip, which is in game! And to Vorax and the other nTn members!
This game and phantom forces got me into shooters when I wasn't allowed to play any, Thank you rolve and stylis!

honestly i think this is pretty cool. acts as like an introduction to esports and competitive gaming for young kids to see if its something they would like
I just wanna say that there's a lot to say about Counter Blox and everything that happened. It's just sad how the game died due to the hackers that think it's funny to use hacks on a "dead game". Even if the game is still on with a thousand of players playing it.
And so players are leaving this game, like me.
Some reasons is because of the gameplay that is now unplayable, the mini map doesn't work, having a low ping and high fps gives you a big advantage that make newbies leaving. Trade isn't safe anymore with "duplication" and old players from 2018 / 2019 wants to be banned.
Of course, the video is really good and it explains everything that should have been explained. But we can do a 30 minutes video about this game that went really famous and died now, because of a long list of problems that devs can't fix, because they don't really have the time for, and also because Arsenal have a lot more players.
I'm really sorry for the mistakes because I'm not English at all.
honestly, i feel like you can get better or get to a somewhat pro level with low fps, (40-60) it's just a matter of how much you make the most of what you have, using counter strafes, and just having really good crosshair placement to compensate for very slow sprays. but hey I'm not in a position to judge low fps still sucks

As someone who was introduced to this game when I was 7, I can truly and proudly say that this is the game that started my love for online gaming. I even remember things like using my first gifted robux on my birthday for 50 robux for alpha-testing CB. (Still salty I don't have the rare skin because I forgot the password.) And watching simulatedsky and learning to keep your crosshair on head level. Even though I stopped playing since it was getting to laggy for me to play and it becoming dead, Counter Blox has a place in my heart.

This used to be a game i spent a long time on, was fun back in like 2017-2020, after that it fell off. Still, regardless of the downfall of this game, i have had fun memories of it and i met a bunch of cool people just thru this game alone.

To be honest, I used to play CB:RO back in Twenty-Fifteen right after playing CS:GO just to be more successful than other children's but I've seem to have paused playing it as well CS due to an incident that would leave me without the ability to remember two years later.

This game was super enjoyable, used to play it day on day, and had a relatively decent trade inv, I stopped playing after the 2021 halloween event decided to wiped my inventory because of data corruption and couldn’t get my inventory reverted, So I lost all motivation to play
Cbro is probly the best remake of csgo on roblox. Been playing since late 2018 and i have been playing since then. Never got tired of it. The revamp rlly changed everything. It was alot more smooth and the gameplay rlly felt like csgo (but blocky). Gun and knife animations were on point and the maps were well built. I really love the gamemodes that it has like deathmatch and unranked/ranked comp, rlly adds alot more fun to the game and rlly doesnt make you that bored.
this was the game that brang me into fps games 5 years ago, now im supreme in csgo, immortal 2 in valo.
although the original game is currently closed, i still play community replicas of it, its still fun and competitive

As you were pointing out the age restrictions on Counter Strike and other FPS, I'm wondering why there is no age restriction on Counter Box and other Games in this universe. (I have a feeling why that might be though).

When CSGO was launched STEAM did not enforce a age restriction upon their games, The age verification to view 17+ games was used more somewhere around 2015-2016, but by then the game already was very popular.

Nice video but i thought more of the skill sets and such would be introduced, for example a top 3 cb player (kamoyes) is now playing valorant at a professional level. Other things like players like castlers (who has been accused of triggerbot in other games) has shown completely legit 120ms reaction time and this goes to show that the top cb players are often world class at certain skills or just players better than u would think a roblox game would attract.

Man i played back then (like 4-5 years ago) when there's a lot of bug, the most remembered one is the smoke.
Because of that i tought there won't be any competitive to it, since the utility is unappliable. And it's heavily depended on aim and your ping. (Yes the ping is so bad sometimes when you hit him with a whole mag, the server only records the first hit, the rest is god knows where)
But now they did it, i gotta played it.
I like counter blox I started playing it since I dont have a good enough pc to get good fps but it evolved into something that I enjoy playing it with friends from time to time
Very nice to see someone talking about ROBLOX game. Isn't very special for me. But still, thank you for making a video like this. The game still update, althought it's just like some Hallowen or Christmast or just some weapon skin getting realeased. I decide to keep playing CBRO from the start since it's so great. I often poay CSGO too. But due to my computer being old, CSGO a bit laggy to me. I prefer CBRO more since I can delete some files to make it lighter and more smoth than CSGO. Not hating CSGO but both CSGO and CBRO are absolute LEGEND.

do one on tf2 the game has a 14 year old grass roots comp scene, combines arena shooter and hero shooter aspects and has some great story lines including many players who have made it big in other games (pine, nukkye, seagull, sideshow, ect)

I remembered playing CBRO back in the day. Then I went ahead and got a stronger PC to run CSGO xD
I love counter blox ever since i played my first modded version in the modded version it was a old mod of the game with lesser of a skill gap then counter blox source code got leaked meaning i could play the new modded version with community skins and other benefits ive been an active player on counter blox and have gained many friends from the game

I miss CBRO before the latest major update. It was better that way bmo, I wish we could still have that version so that I would give it another shot and remind me of some nostalgia.
And after years and the source code getting leaked the game is not only getting fixed, worked on and improved.
how do yall run the game so smoothly my pc runs cs2 easy but whenever i run cbro and kill someone the player just freezes while his helmet falls and then after a second he falls along, and kills take more than half a second to register, the game is just laggy overall and fps is low

Honestly I can't really support a totally obvious clone game even if it's an impressive one, no offense to the developers.
But I'm glad that this also became the gateway to other original Roblox FPS such as Phantom Forces and Arsenal (which fortunately is mentioned here).
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but hey you're entitled to your opinion. If anything, the game probably helped CS get more players. I personally love stuff like this.
The Roblox company is also sketchy in itself. Using kids to make tons of money and giving very little to these aspiring young developers.
At least Roblox is teaching kids how ruthless and greedy companies are from an early game.

I don't really like Rolve's games (expect for Right 2 Fight), but I kinda think this video was a good way of saying that WarOwl's third law of Counter Strike and any competitive league on any game client still applies to the 15 year old gaming application for children. You should really take a look at the randomizer genre of Roblox as the randomizer thing has gotten a little popularity on Roblox. I think the main three randomizers that done well that I can think of are Item Asylum, Allusions, and Randomizer.
You wouldn't believe how many competitive scenes there are in ROBLOX.
