    2:04 Im not in their area but I believe the shrub on the right is a bougainvillea?? So they have thorns right
    Anyway CERTAIN trees/shrubs are actually investments people will pay for mature plants because you can’t just find them at your local nursery
    The average homeowner/buyer (from what I’ve seen) they make the mistake to rip everything out and start fresh mostly due to lack of knowledge but if they just take a couple minutes to learn how to prune transplant or propagate they’ll save so much…sometimes they probably end up buying plants they threw away lol

    Wait, wait, wait...this guy was nagging them that their house isn't in ship-shape condition, swore up and down that it wouldn't be worth more than $525K-ish, was appraised TWICE in the range of $540K, and they sold it for $570K?! And this is why you don't let home renovation TV shows be your real estate counselor 😓. All of these shows over-charge people for renovations as well, if they're the ones paying for it for the owners to be featured on TV. Good on the wife for at least taking the middle road of $539K and not caving to that $520. I know that won't always work, but really happy it did for them.

      @@BewareTheLilyOfTheValley why? tv shows are always like this. flip and flop was the same. what made you think this would be different? did you not notice that every time tarik for example said this ain't good in the house like the garden etc every potential buyer that goes in has the same observation?
      again it is for show you watch how they renovate and how it eventually turns out all the rest is not to be taking seriously. if you find a tip good take it or else it is entertainment.and when it comes to real estate it is worth what the buyer wants to give for it and real estate is real hot right now with covid going on everyone wants a house with garden so that probably played a part too as why it sold so much higher than the rest of the houses in the neighborhood.

    • @BewareTheLilyOfTheValley
      @BewareTheLilyOfTheValley 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Jessicaro This looks to be an older episode and was filmed before the pandemic. Though yes, I understand there being an entertainment aspect (I'd call HGTV more of an "edu-tainment" channel, you can learn something while being entertained), but there's a time and a place for doing that. You don't want to make your experts look like idiots. I mean, it's good for those looking to flip and sell a home that the home owners were the ones who were in the right this time, but what does it say about HGTV and the people that are supposed to guide these home owners? I don't see how making the real estate expert look bad is supposed to help both, HGTV's and the man's image outside of the channel.

    I think hallways should be wider and entryways should be in its own room.
    Wider hallways provide floor space for bookshelves, narrow tables small, seating bench, and ample wall space for family photos. I had a multicolor motion detector at the end of the hall in the center cubby below the bench. It was absolutely beautiful space. I don't know why hallways don't just come with built-in, adjustable shelving and recessed area on other wall for photos to go. I guess that'll have to be custom when I win the lottery. A walk in closet off hallway also would be welcome by most encountering one. Family games, coats, boots, fans, crafts/projects, sewing machine, tools, etc.
    I haven't seen any linen closets in any remodels.😮 Nor any surveillance, intercoms, surround sound, lighting dimmers, yard lighting, garage finish, storage sheds, built-in baby/pet gates, some color on walls or a few, and lastly, no place for trash, inside or out. I assume sinks have garbage disposals.
    Now with rain coming back to California, be thinking of roof guttering and rain yard drainage. These things will destroy a home.
    Sorry. Ex County Appraiser's Sales Appraiser (1).
    PS In Asia, ceilings aren't neglected. They come up with all sorts of beauty, some not.

Especially to figure out timelines when it comes to things like planting grass seeds!! Such expensive mistakes. / I don't think the staging costs were included in the total.

If those trees/shrubs were not native species, then I can stomach it a bit - but!!! we NEED GREEN to suck up carbon and pollution!!! and native flowering species to rehabilitate our ecosystems!!! - Just floored they favoured a desert of grass instead of the beauty and function of the trees.

    Tarek, $570k is about $50k above what you estimated. I can see not setting people up for failure by leading them to expect too much. But... People already nervous. Here's a rule someone came up for parents with their kids: for every negative praise at least twice that much. I think you scare the people that ask for your help. Kid gloves will let them enjoy the process rather than have a stress stroke. PS - You would have bought this house because you've purchased far worse, sight unseen. You stressed over every unseen obstacle, poor Christina! Poor Contractors! 😂 And yet, you always come out with huge profits. The majority if people don't collect big money for a long day's hard work or get to call the shots. Smaller profits would actually be the best thing to happen to the housing market. You flippers, have really jacked up the selling prices everywhere and even the shitters rise with your profits. Just sayin.
    Let your ex wife teach kids how to drive. 😅 Just sayin. Love ya. Just thought after this couple, a little feedback for you. Don't become a grumpy old man everyone hears but don't listen to.
