Thank you for watching and taking the time to share your thoughts - i COMPLETELY understand how hypnotising a mini Kelly 20 can be and have been where you were, but honestly i'm starting to wake up and see clearly how ridiculously cute also feels ridiculously unnatural. Of course, some collectors can afford to buy as many bags as they like and in that case, the K20 would be a fun statement to own. But if you have to be selective with your funds, i don't think it's the best mini bag option out there. Hope you have a great week!

True, you are very petite! And i'm guessing you have to hold Nitro a lot too so can be difficult balancing your baby and birkin. Now that big bags are coming back, hopefully you can sell your B40 when the value rises and grab a smaller bag when the price inflation reduces. Keep me updated :)

Hi, the video is very informative in comparing the Kelly vs Birkin bag. I am trying to decide between the two. It is funny that my husband, who is an manufacturing engineer, can never understand why a bag that only costs $800 to manufacture can sell for over $10k. I told him it is a good investment as the bag is very rare and limited; it appreciates in value year after year. He still doesn’t understand but he respects my choice!

I have added a birkin 30 recently, it is the perfect size for me & my lifestyle.
I am Interested in the kelly 25 but could you answer this Q for me- do you have any issues fastening the bag? Colourful noir in her review of the kelly25 mentioned that there is very little clearance around the metal closure, making closing the bag tricky. The 28 has more space making it a bit easier. I believe hers was in Epsom, not swift, so that may make a difference..
as it is so difficult to try these bags in the store I would want to be sure of this before investing, otherwise I may pursue the Constance instead 💕

Also congratulations on your B30 - I totally agree with you and believe the B30 is also the perfect size for myself so I’m currently on the hunt for one...Re your K25 fastening query, I was actually going to address it in the next video focusing on the Kellys so thank you for bringing it up! The opening in the hardware is much smaller so requires careful aim - however since my B25/K25 are swift, the soft leather has a natural stretch to it which makes it relatively ok to latch. Not easy but not a nuisance.
My K28 is in rigid epsom so without any ‘give’ in the leather, fastening the hardware (even with the larger opening) can feel very stiff at times.
So to summarise, a soft leather for the smaller bag sizes really improves usability and that would be my recommendation to avoid the clasp driving you crazy!

I just would like to add something about wearing the handbag on the crook of the elbow: one just need too see how the Queen of Great Britain wears it! Just have a look of one of the pictures and you’ll see is much more elegant, for two reasons: 1 the arm that is threaded through the bag is not ‘in the air’/vertical(ugh!), but is
‘horizontal/close to the body. 2 the bag in this way(when is horizontal) is ‘alligned’to the side of the body(it DOES NOT ‘stick out’ from the body). Keep up the good work and I wish you the best for your second baby😊

It's been a little while since i watched this video but i do completely agree with you - carrying handbags in the crook of your arm is the most elegant solution :) Top handles lend themselves most naturally to this mode of carry (thus their inherent ladylike character) but it is definitely possible with totes as well. I have to say, thank you for your commentary and great comparisons. I feel that as I age, I pack less. Also, if I need to pack a lot, I use dump bags then have nice mini bags inside.
This was very enjoyable. I love the Kelly but am not a fan of the Birkin. I am looking forward to your Kelly 25 vs 28 video, although my answer to your question of which is right for me is neither. Years ago I owned two Kelly dupes. The 28 was a big failure and I had to downsize more than I am comfortable with in a day bag. My perfect size is the 32, I love that one and still have it. If I am ever in a position to buy a real one it will be a 32 sellier.

Too many people try to make trends work for them when they should just embrace the right fit for themselves. I've seen some incredible preloved deals on Kelly 32s recently - around the AUD$10k mark compared to approx $20k for smaller Kellys since they're not subject to the same 'mini bag trend' price inflation. Let me know if that interests you and i can share the link. K32 sellier would be stunning - unfortunately i am too short to pull it off!
Thanks, that would be really helpful. I am hoping that I may be able to afford a preloved one in about 3 years. It sounds like a long time but at the pace the past few years have gone it will be here in no time and now would be a good time to start serious research.
Actually, most of the bags on my preloved wish list are medium or large sizes and the prices are going down very nicely. So, long live the mini bag trend!

Re swift leather, while it's indulgent to touch and great for a colour pop, i personally prefer textured leather grains for the visual depth/detail it adds and that it helps to disguise accidental scratches etc. For that reason i'm more comfortable owning swift for mini bags where it's easier to protect and the smaller surface area means blank surfaces aren't so boring, but for larger bags i wouldn't buy them in swift personally. As an architect, I must admit the simple, striking lines of the sellier silhouette is my Achilles heel 😝 I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how flexible/user friendly the retourne + soft leather combination can be - as sellier + rigid leather in the narrow Kelly frame can feel restrictive at times. If you plan to use your Kelly a lot, especially in more casual/day situations, the relaxed retourne would be perfect. For myself since I primarily use my Kelly for dressy occasions, the sellier wow-factor is appropriate. Hope that answers your question and look forward to seeing you again :) Take care!
