OpenWRT 21.02 - Configure IPTV / UDP Multicast

- In this video, I will show you how to configure IPTV or UDP Multicast with OpenWRT. To make this beginner friendly, I will configured most of things with LuCI.
The video will walk you through the basic concept of IPTV, IGMP, IGMP Snooping, how to setup the IPTV bridge and interfaces on OpenWRT and how to convert multicast to unicast to stream the video via HTTP with udpxy.

Hey thank you for making this great video. I have a question for you.. I have the same type IpTv in my country and I have the Pppoe details and the VLANs for both VOIP and IPTV.. is it possibly to care these over to another location with a VPN? Wireguard maybe? Or can this be done with the Microtik router in your video?
Btw i have question if isp limited device for one only can this method play on two device or more with same time ?

Hi, this model was provided by the ISP and the account number is hard-coded into it after set up. There is no button for password for a reset, I don’t think you should get this set top box anyway. STB-9832C from Inspur.

what kind of configuration you put on your ont? i tried with ont eth 4 set as L2 port but it seem pppoe is not working. my internet on vlan200, iptv on vlan111 and multicast on vlan 110
I am using a GPON SFP module in auto VLAN mode, plugged to a router (not ONT). If you are using a ONT from ISP, the best way is to ask them configure that.

You can install OpenWRT on this router. There is guide & performance test videos on my channel.

@@CashPope You can take a look at Redmi AC2100 / Mi Router R3G which has the same SoC as Hex, and is fully supported by OpenWRT.

Hi, usually this can be found in your local forum about networking or tech. If you have a working STB, you can also trace the connection using wireshark.

Chào bạn, hiện tại dù bạn có đăng ký mới thì Viettel cũng không cấp phát STB chạy bằng IPTV nữa, mà họ chỉ cung cấp Tivi360 chạy qua Internet.
Với trang thiết bị phù hợp (module GPON SFP hoặc ONT của bên thứ 3), bạn có thể cấu hình VLAN Transparent và lọc được luồng IPTV để sử dụng (toàn bộ VLAN từ OLT sẽ đổ xuống ONT). Việc này không cần phải đăng ký IPTV mới xem được, tuy nhiên bạn chỉ xem được các kênh miễn phí (luồng không bị mã hóa).
