*Christian, you ROCK for offering to reverse people's refrigerator doors for them!!!* 😄❤👏👏👏 Improvements to Airbnbs for full time living is a great idea---would love to see more of these! This is very nice as-is, and I also love your brainstorming! Having a blackout option for windows is appreciated, but adding a filtered white option too is my top pick for making a massive difference to this place immediately. 🌞 Also a big yes to added storage & a couch, and I agree with other commenters that a lower window in the kitchen would be wonderful (clerestory windows evoke prisons to me 😬). Absent that, a *picture* of a view with recession into space does wonders. : - ) When neighboring properties make window placement tricky, normal height windows with cafe curtain sheers and/or a greenery screen like bamboo or ivy is a great solution. Sky and leaves are soothing! 🌿😃🌿 Tanslucent window stickers instead of frosted glass are a way to keep window options open and are also nice for kitchen cabinets. Putting them on just the cabinets you end up using for less attractive items keeps things visually open, and with light strips inside, the glow is beautiful! 😃 I could list a dozen other ideas (I love interior design!), but my last one is similar to Alexis's advice in a video ages ago: add a lamp to make things feel homey. 😄 I'd put one to the left of the kitchen seating area to help cozify the place. 💖 Thanks for another great video!
This is so cute, love this studio apt style tiny house, I could live here forever, don't need much space. I love that it has a washer and that it's all one level cause when you're older you don't want to climb steps or ladders. Great place!
Super stylish little abode!! ❤ Great alteration ideas, hosts. 1. Yes to a Murphy bed on that solid wall, tv stand opposite (Yay, Alexis!! Plus, I don't want mini-split blowing right above my head in bed like that current setup). 2. Swap the fridge/sink to the outer wall with cooker/micro. Fridge door direction solved (my ocd, like Christian's) and that makes an option for a window above the sink on perimeter wall (big preference for me). 3. Bathtub/shower, please. 4. Stackable w/d. 5. Padded seat/back bootbench with open cubbies (or, with cabinet doors) surrounding window and to ceiling. 6. A couple of cozy rope chairs hung from the ceiling near mini-split wall. (A large enough hook installed each side of the window for each chair to be out of the way when Murphy bed is open. Meaning, don't have to unhook rope chairs from the ceiling...they simply get bundled and draped to the window sides like "curt-ins"...as Alexis says😊).
You nailed all the "home sweet home" upgrades to be a full time liveable space!!! If you are older and have grandchildren that love to stay with Pawpaw and Grammy, the "living room window" would have to go but a full length of the wall, next to the ceiling narrow window so you could use the sofa Murphy style twin bunk bed unit. Our grandkids would love the fact they disappear during the day!!
Agree the entry wall needs more storage for fulltime living. What I like the most about most tiny houses is a loft. Proper stairway with railing. Maybe just for storage and sitting. Love your closet ideas-stackable machines. Beautiful house and yard🤗👍👍
Love all your recommendations! As a cook, the fridge opening the wrong way is also one of my biggest pet peeves! Yes to a larger window in the kitchen, or an additional one on the left wall. Also, I think a few open cabinets would be great instead of the wall of closed cabinets, especially for BnB, because you could immediately see the nice glassware and dishware.
I like the ideas you had for the entry and for the Murphy bed. We once lived in a studio where the bedroom and living area was separated by a floor-to-ceiling bookcase. My husband had a ton of books so it was perfect.
Therapy could take a long time, especially when you’re doing dealing with it anxiety because your anxiety kind of prevents you from confronting yourself which is the only way you’re gonna change. I hope I hope that it helps actually asked me to make him an omelette and this morning when I got up and I said that I had ordered some things fromWalmart so he would have juice and breakfast and stuff. He thanked me now that’s the first time he’s ever done that.
I liked all your ideas to convert it for full time living. I'd use a Murphy bed w/ shelves on the side (like your example) but instead of combining it with a sofa, I'll put a desk. I'll also put some type of divider (maybe a Kallax bookshelf) to separate the bed zone. Cheers!
Very cute place 😊 Needs a bigger kitchen window and a low, long, double-sided bookshelf to divide off the bedroom and kitchen visually, while adding storage space.
I love this tiny home. I have a washer dryer combo, and it doesn't take that much longer than a separate washer & dryer. Plus, you don't have to unload one and load another, making it more convenient. It saves space. I love the orange. I think I would do the extra shelves in the closet, under bed storage, change the fridge to open into the area, and maybe put a dividing piece between the bed and the entryway.
Hungryroot sounds good, I may really consider it. Great Ad.. Also I like the suggestions you made regarding full time, especially a Murphy bed/couch. I like wallpaper - but that peach coral color is awful. Glad they were able to match things with it though. Yes overhead storage, more lights, under bed tuck away stuff. 🥶🖤🔔👍🏻🥰
I could easily live in this tiny home. I do like your Murphy bed/couch idea. I use a power lift recliner wonder if the would fit with a full size sideways style Murphy bed? I dream of living in a tiny home!♥️
ADUs were meant to create desperately needed housing in LA but, of course, those who can will line their pockets before helping the community. It’s not like we don’t have enough hotels for those in need of shelter during their travels. And I don’t mean housing for those with substance abuse or mental issues, just housing for working people. Hopefully they find it in their heart to offer this unit to someone in their cummunity.
Could the built in Wardrobe be taller for long term storage?, built in medicine cabinet where the bathroom mirror is (yes I know there is one already)Also the small coffee table could have storage underneath
Good point on the wardrobe! We do think that there’s a few feet of available space which is significant for storage. Agreed on a 2nd medicine cabinet 😁
Super! YES on plenty of hooks, places to set things down, and two luggage rackS-one for each of us. These items are far too often missing in rentals, something I just can’t fathom. Thanks for the tour! I always love the way you speak, with clear breaks between the points you (also) make so clearly.
It's an awkwardly laid out plan. The first thing you see walking in is the bed. Better to have the kitchen closer to the door for unloading groceries. A bigger porch is important as adjunct living space. It's a missed opportunity. Like a lot of the house though.
@@TinyHouseExpedition Depends. If you have someone using the sofa, and have a need to move the coffee table type situation, that can be too much. Glad it's got zero sleeping loft.
That closet would be a fail for me with that bulky washer taking up space I would get rid of the washer dryer combo go portable and put the portable where that plant is by the sink and hang dry my clothes it’s Cali so clothes dry fast here when you hang dry create a cool outdoor hanging with hemp rope that could add a cute aesthetic when not in use or do one indoor that is removable with hooks going across with removable rope the shades are definitely too dark for daytime and limit’s versatility , love the color but they could be better with more options , roller shades make Dual Roller shades you can choose 2 fabrics that give you versatile light and privacy options and you get to choose 2 colors that compliment your space the back roller can be blackout like it is currently and the front roller can be light filtering or sheer or solar shade for more light options but still have privacy and still looks contemporary and it all hides behind the Valance or swap to cellular shades with the top down Bottom up feature , the tv wall is a wasted space plenty of opportunity for sure I almost wish the closet was a whole system on that wall instead of right in the center it could help open that space also like you said under bed storage is a must and possibly even a smaller bed aa this space is probably for a single person 2 max the kitchen is cute and sufficient enough the under sink trash bin is a must and possibly a under sink 5-6 stage reverse osmosis water system too so clean fresh water is readily available and you don’t need to clutter with a 5 gallon dispenser outdoor storage space would be nice as well
16 x 22 is about the footprint of a two car garage, which is normally 20 x 20 Also, can we be honest about the kitchen? It’s a fine size but it looks pretty bad.
Why have a washer/dryer unit & such a large kitchen if this was intended for a 1-7 night stay? If it’s intended as a mother-in-law suite, it needs a real closet and put the combo unit in the bathroom where venting the dryer is safer.
The kitchen choices aren’t very good. They could have selected more modern and sleek appliances and cabinets. The entire space is very 1950s looking. Very bland.
This place is ugly and the vibes are off I’m sorry. It’s not very functional at all they could’ve done a lot better maximizing the space. Also lack of windows along with the blackout shades and awful artificial lighting plus the paint color choices are killing me. Terrible design, plus everything looks cheap and like it won’t last.

Nice place. Way better than a hotel room and I think that I could even live there! I wish l had that house in my backyard.
We completely agree! Maybe you can add a cottage to your backyard in the future 😉
The fridge door is also my pet peeve in a kitchen! So glad to hear someone else has this pet peeve! My friends look at me like I am nuts🤣

We’d definitely opt for a small stackable W/D over a combo 😅
I've been told, water doesn't completely spin out, leaves soured mop water smell, yikes !
This place is gorgeous. But I'm curious - I thought ADU's were not legally allowed to be Airbnb's in California? Am I mistaken? I'd love to have one.
