  • Let's review my 2022 Audi RS3 in Mythos Black Metallic.
    This is my second RS3 after selling my 2018 Audi RS3 and YES, I like this new RS3 much better than my old one RS3, and any of the 4 S3's I have had as well. So let's get into it because this is in my opinion the best small sport sedan daily driver you can get if you want styling, luxury and fun!

    Nice and informative review. I believe the drift mode is not really a rear wheel drive, but rather adjusting the two clutch pack on the rear so that the outside wheel gets 100% of the torque available for the rear axle to initiate a slide.

    It's not really rwd mode, it can only send a maximum of 50% power to the rear, but the new rear diff can send 100% (of that 50%)to either wheel allowing you to over rotate each wheel allowing you to "drift"

BMW seats are just so uncomfortable! That’s why I’m selling and trying to get an s3 or rs3 . I’m debating on a 22 s3 and 22 rs3! Since you had both which would you recommend for day to day driving? You are 100% right about throttle lag at a stop sign being very dangerous! One of our family friend just got involved in a serious side collision with a truck a couple months ago, because his Cadillac mid-size SUV's poor start-stop system created enough throttle lag when trying to accelerate from a stop sign. His wife was hospitalized with several broken ribs and internal bleeding that needed heart surgery, she passed away 2 months in the hospital. Her husband was the driver and he survived, eventually telling us it was his car's start-stop system that caused the horrific accident.

    My 2019 Audi S4 has the same acceleration lag, which I agree is dangerous. It seems to be an unfortunate combination of delayed transmission kick-down, throttle response tubing and a bit of turbo lag. It’s cured by putting the car in dynamic mode, but I use auto mode for the commute and have been caught out a few times.

    Sweet ride sir, I've always loved the smaller RS Audis but am partial to the 4/5door hatchbacks/wagons as the sedans don't have rear folding seats, and being a parent I like the extra space (and look). We had a black 02 A4 but it got t-boned a few years back. We replaced it with a Infiniti FX35 as we wanted something a little bigger (safer) from a collision standpoint as it was mainly my wife's car and our daughter was a little girl back then.
    I forget which engine this was an issue with but I wonder if they've made changes to the timing chain setup. One of the selling points of the older S and RS models was that because they used timing chains you didn't have to worry about them wearing out and needing replacing like a timing belt, so they put the timing chain was up against the firewall. Problem was that the pulleys etc would wear out and the cost to replace was over $10K just to drop the whole front of the vehicle to access the chain, pulleys etc, plus more for the actual parts. This is the main reason the S and RS models have such low resale value once they approach the 100km range on the odometer.

    Regarding the short shifter, I’m going to give you a different perspective. I teach training classes in New England. One of my classes is Everyday Vehicle, where students learn how to gunfight in and around vehicles (search my channel for videos of this class). In the event of an emergency in which you have to exit the vehicle by going over the console, the shorter the shifter the better. When exiting the vehicle, we want as few obstacles as possible, so the short shifter is ideal for this situation. Just a different perspective. Thank you for your review on the RS3. Also, I own the 1 of 1 Audi R8 Blackbird!

    spot on about previous generation acceleration lag/delay with DSG, I sold my 2017 RS3 early for the same reason. I have also test driven 2022 RS3 and love fact the delay has gone. It still is not as cool as 2015 RS3, that kicked down hard. Though 2022 RS3 handles much better and a lot quicker. Too bloody quiet though

    New RS3 are certainly dope rides, esp if you get it modded & tuned, a bit dated design, tho can be resolved with some love...Actually curious when Audi is gonna update the line... My personal opinion however, the new BMW G80 M3 Comp XDrive is the optimal daily driver. It goes from Housewife to Stripper with a push of a button. One minute I can have both my kids comfortably in the back seat with groceries in its spacious trunk, and the next minute Im gapping C8 Vettes...
    RS3 is definitely a great platform, esp for those of us who have the tuner bug... A lot of potential in that 2.5L... Downpipe, Tune, and you're in a completely different league... Congrats on the new ride! Looking forward to seeing how far you take it

    Over the years of being an Audi owner, have you seen features slowly come to the U.S. that have been in operation in the European markets? I really like the different steering wheels and other fun interior features. I am looking for a fun, energetic daily car and want to be fully immersed in the "true" RS3 vehicle, which I think Germany currently has. Do you think these features will make it overseas to the U.S. based on previous ownership?

    • @WillMotivation

      I think we have some things they dot and vice versa. Like they have the hatch back and flat bottom steering wheel and we have round steering wheel and no hatch back. But out exhaust is supposed to be louder. Other than that I don’t think much is different 👍🏽

    Great review, and honestly if i can save up enough money to put a big down payment, you just saved me $2750 off the price, to not check the box for the RS Technology package, no need for the B&O sound system thats subpar to average at best, and no need for head up display, or integrated gps, and traffic sign recognition. Honestly the only option I would ✔️ would be the $1000, RS sport exhaust with black tips. Thats it! Perfect at $60,995 including destination.

      @nimri09 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is correct unfortunately. I have the same exact spec and color as WIll, got mine two weeks ago (port of houston), and the B&O system is def not what it used to be. The B&O I had in my 2013 Audi S5 was wayyyyy better than this system, and its hurts me to say that.

    • @nimri09
      @nimri09 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@PL876 Its the upgraded 3D system. "B&O with 3D sound. Your car becomes a concert hall with the available 680-watt Bang & Olufsen sound system with 3D sound, featuring 15 speakers and a 16 channel amplifier." Harmon, which is owned by Samsung, bought out B&O sometime in 2015 I believe, not sure on the exact date, but since then its been on the decline in quality. And I can tell just by listening to my 2013 B&O Audi system vs this one. The 2013 one was night and day better. I dont remember where I saw it, but I think someone discovered that the new B&O speakers use a paper cone now which is as cheap as it gets. I have to try to find the link for that video and confirm if its true or not. Either way this was my biggest disappointment with the car and its got me considering a whole new sound system. Its that noticeably worse. Now if good audio is not something you care for or used to even listening too, this wont be too bad for you. Its still better than most stock systems. But to be clear, its still crap. My sisters 2018 Jeep grand Cherokee with the base alpine system out preforms this B&O in every category except bass.
