I love that Austin gets a graphicscard that needs Re:Bar support for optimal performance. And uses it in a system that lacks said support.. :)
Any significant gpu upgrade would be held back by the age of the components that was there from the start, so it doesn't matter.
For the GPU an ARC is significally held back by Resizable Bar thatthe others would not be, so It really does matter.@@Tomazack
@@drakkhisskaeren7593 Nope, it does not matter... The whole Arc point of yours lost its value the exact moment Austin said "i7 3930K"... If he mentioned like 10th Gen i5 then I would agree with you... but its i7 3930K... Systems with that CPU had issues running Farcry 4 at max details due to high CPU usage...
I just posted this exact things haha, however he could have used ReBar UEFI Project if the mobo is supported for the BIOS modification.
@@Ren_Heika Acceptable tweaking imo since it's a broke vs pro situation, the broke one will try to squeeze what he can.
Also, he could go the nvme route with a pcie adapter. Maybe not possible as a boot drive, but who knows, I could do it with my Haswell B85-Plus.
To be fair to Austin, I think both of them have to try each others setups to see if either makes the other better
Good idea, should be the standard
what if austin or ken played bad by intention?
@@Luckysury333set up a reward for the winner or a punishment for the loser then they will try hard.
Isn't Ken a better gamer than Austin in general anyway?
To be fair to Austin, I think both of them have to try each others setups to see if either makes the other better
I feel like I'm totally OK with watching broke versus pro videos until the end of time
They are so good
It's kind of the same thing every time, but somehow I end up watching all of them. They are so entertaining. 😂
I feel like I'm totally OK with watching broke versus pro videos until the end of time
I could watch it, if it wasnt for Matt
@@miruharabaecouldn’t disagree more. Big fan of Matt
Only 1 problem: the A750 requires "Resizable BAR" to be enabled.
It wasn't until 8th Gen Intel that the option began being added to board UEFI.
As such, you're not able to use the A750 to its full potential in a 3rd Gen rig.
Try re-running those benchmarks with the A750 in the "Pro" build instead, and watch the performance improve significantly.
Yep exactly
If you are trying something like this, Intel cards require Resizable BAR support which a lot of older systems don’t support or need special workarounds, it might be worth the time to do tweaking/modding to get resizable BAR working to fully take advantage of ARC cards
Also Austin’s specific CPU generations on X79 doesn’t have AVX2 instruction support, I think there’s some modern games that requires it
It's kinda crazy how expensive the pro-setup is nowaday, just 3 years ago, for a budget of $3000, I'd expect a 80/90 series card inside, at the very least a Ti 70 model, and the current gen CPU.
Except he spent 800$ on the monitor, he could've easily slotted 4080 and current gen cpu in this setup if he reduced spendings on peripherals. He could've gotten a high resolution, high refresh rate monitor for way cheaper, but he wanted an oled. Same with other peripherals and the case, he could've gotten other high quality components for cheaper, but he decided to spend the budget this way
Yep, exactly what tomas said. With Microcenter deals, you can make a 4070 build for $1400 before the monitor (12900k, z690, 32gb ddr5 6000, 2TB 980), then lets say $1700 assuming a $300 monitor, maybe $1800-1900 if all new periphals. 4080s are around $1150 these days, so still within $2500 if you don't splurge on an OLED monitor or expensive other components
@@tomaszzajac1765 was the monitor only 800?not to n long ago the flex was 1500usd
@@not_so_native_native he said in the video it was 800$
And ge went ith 64 gb ran which is unnecessary
Please continue this series we miss them
I think when they play against each other, they should also switch to using each other's setups at times. I think it would really add to the dynamic of it all.

3:11 jo'ann has a whole cake shop gyaaat
You should factor in future proofing into the scores (ie. divide cost by useable years). So Ken's cost would be 3k/10yrs, Austin would be $500/2yrs
Austin would still win in that case. 250/yr vs 300/yr... thats how I buy my cell phones these days. Can spend 1200$ on a new phone for 4yrs or last gen for 400-500 for 2-3yrs.
Ken, building a PC for his studio: "The secret ingredient is crime."
3:11 "Sorry I got a little distracted" ... So did I ol girl looking nice!! Cake!!!
I noticed that Austin's 'broke budget' keyboard still has the XP logo on the Win keys! 🤣
this man is the ryans toy world of pcs
I honestly love the broke vs pro. I watch these segments literally everyday.
mat at this stage, loves to make ken a winner
I’m so glad we getting a micro center in Charlotte, NC!!!
To see Austin have to settle for a morale victory couldn’t make me happier
im so glad broke vs pro is back. been too long since yall did the last one
18:11 Kinsey: "That's not nice!" XD
Ken's voice sounded great during the build. That was a different lav mic and sounded great.
This is the part where you say he was sick and it was the normal mic.
I live in Charlotte, and I can't wait until Micro Center opens here!!!
YESSS, I missed this series!!
Can't wait for Micro Center to open here in Charlotte, NC.
Austin: I'm gonna win!
Ken: I'm gonna get a new setup... oh and win, too.
do one thing. dont stop this frickin series
Austin really smooth 😂😂😂😅😅
Damn, getting a good will computer better than my daily rig lol.
always waiting for broke vs pro series
Crucial BX500 and MX500 are actual MVPs! I've upgraded SO many laptops and old PCs with these drives - and I've yet to see one fail! We are talking in the hundreds in sample size here! Cheap, reliable and respectable performance... they are great!
This was something I was just researching this morning!
I almost bought that corsair monitor last month, but decided to go ultrawide and got the msi qd-oled instead. Both are awesome monitors though, cant go wrong!
Ken's wallpaper is the same as my lock screen wallpaper at work😂😂
I like the way you roll Ken. We have the exact same taste haha.
I like these competitions because its about things like budget, creativity, and performance
The Fractal North case is so dope
the most replayed part of this video is mad sus
Great video Austin btw, I want to know, when is micro center reopening or opening for the 1st time?
Fractal North was the best purchase when I built my PC. I LOVE it.
Can you pls answer my question I wanna know what’s the best website to buy a pre built pc for around 1k or alittle more
I also hope the embezzlement jokes never end
I do wish there was a Microcenter in the Pacific Northwest. The nearest Microcenter shops are in Tustin, CA and Denver, CO. We do not have any good computer parts stores in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, except for Best Buy, and even then our options are EXTREMELY limited with them. Most of our options are online-only.
3:11 i got a lil distracted too..... GHAT.......
Oh I actually have an "older" pc with a 3770k, this video is actually very interesting to me.
Unfortunately I have a very unique use case where I need my power consumption to be very low. I don't think just upgrading a graphics card is going to cut it. The 3rd gen i7 also lacks HVEC capabilities, so if you edit gopro footage this is a big issue.
This acting is second to none 👏 someone get these guys a Netflix show
Fantastic Thanks
these are so entertaining
They need a non-partial judge I would legitimately be a good judge because I don’t know any of these guys, but I would have to say Ken did have the better set up.
Whoo CLT finally!!!
This format of the video is definitely entertaining no doubt for the topic. But if you wanted to better compare upgrading versus buying new I feel like limiting the pro budget a bit more would be better and it would kinda make sense for Ken to know what system you started with and go from there. Realistically if a person only has a bit of money to upgrade their current system they arent gonna have 3000+ dollars to buy a new one. If you had that budget from the start it would not be econommical to upgrade a 3770 cpu system really... It'd be cool to see another video in the future taking this into account possibly
I don't agree with this. I think Ken overspent on his PC. Do you need a Sony gaming headset? No, do you need a Fractal Design case, no. Do you need a custom built mechanical keyboard. No. And you can get a decent monitor cheaper than what Ken spent. And you can still have a great experience.
i have been upgrading my pc for the past 15 years! I'm finally on DDR5 now, but all the other bits only get upgraded when they really need to!
Where is the link for the microcenter location in Charlotte?
A good headset is literally a game changer. I played on a cobbled together setup for a few years, but it was the one thing I insisted on having.
I got used to the lag and just ended up listening really closely, once you get the right things down like sitting in certain corners of a map to hear their feet going from 1 surface to another, it starts to become fairly easy.
A 22" 75hz 1080p monitor for 60$...... Man how can they even make that? I mean there is a 22" panel and the electronics, the stand, the plastic casing and a power cord... It's literally a little hard to understand how that's possible! Unless it's some kind of "get rid of this stuff" sale to clear out a warehouse! LOL
Is it ok to use Intel ARC GPU's on motherboards that do not support re-bar?
Oh my god! I used the same wallpaper Ken used for my pc too
I like how austin just says that he's cheating but in other words
If anyone makes it up to the Battle Creat bundle, keep in mind what is on the box is never really what you get as you do have to update drivers and such, so buyer beware
I really wish microcenter would open up a store in maine where I live in.
That monitor ! Man !
This is much better to see!!!!
Prebuilt for pro vs broke who actually has too was a stupid idea....
Great job 👍👍🎉
So I built my PC with a i5 3570K , 16 GB of ram, with SLI 670 2X 2 TB HDD(500GB SSD for OS). Upgraded to SLI 980, One 1TB SSD for games. After the 10xx series relies i got a GTX1080(1080p). For $380 I upgraded to r5 3600, B450 MB, and 16 GB memory(1441p). Went from a Cooler Master HAF XM, to a CM H500 ARGB. Now in the same case is a r5 5600x,6800 XT,16 GB memory, 1 TB M.2, 2 TB SSD, 6TB HDD(after M.2,replace 2TB HDD), and 2TB HDD(OG).
I just upgrade parts I want through the years. But I am starting to wait longer as I get older(and budget wiser).
Love that keyboard!
Austin, did you run a debloat in your win 10 install? you could get a little bit more performance of this i7 =D
Just realized I have the same wallpaper Ken put on his build
It's always funto watch this but what they should've done is the same as this but with the same budget to spend, i fail to grasp what the idea behind this is, Austin is doing this one right while Ken is going ham with the prices
Yes the best video is back. Love seeing rich people spend money to make money! Love the vids Austin keep it up
💀
I just bought the Gigabyte Windforce 4070 GPU... But it's going to 2 1080p monitors so... I have to get a new one to get the full feel of the card. But it's crazy when editing videos and gaming in 1080p.
Did i miss the link for the new Micro Center location? I don't see it
6:33 thats a crazy looking monitor. a actual square
That wallpaper is cool at 1:46 Where can I find it?
They should do a stage 2 where they swop pc's to make sure its the pc that is better not the gamer then its a fair test
To be more fair during play time, Austin and Kevin should try the other system too.
I'm slightly disappointed that Ken didn't go with the beige, like that beige would've complimented the wood in front of the Fractal North really well
You better have bought Matt several snacks for putting his stomach on your screen lol
I wish they'd build a Micro Center here in Maine.
Meanwhile I'm still sitting here in central Massachusetts waiting for a Micro Center that isn't in Cambridge (aka a one hour bus ride, followed by a 90 minute train ride, followed by a 15 minute subway, followed by a 20 minute walk away).
i really love that keyboard! Mojo68!
FINALLY A NEW BROKE VS PRO
Yes broke vs pro been wyiting for monaha lets go
I love how no matter what seems to happen, Austin seems to always manage to lose to Ken.
Camera girl got some pound cakes on her.
so were all here watching the vid at the same time lol
ken got a new pc again damn
Microcenter please come to Omaha!! I need a close place to shop computer gear!!
Next time you guys should do two rounds of pvp and swtich set up, let Ken use the broke set up and kick your ass too XD
Just add more i7 stickers to that case for more "virtual horsepower" 🤓😎
Does the old system even support rebar which is very important to properly utilize an Intel ARC GPU, lol.
I'm gonna use that "Rules are meant to be, creatively interpreted" a lot. 😂
Damn. I'm PCS-ing to Korea from North Carolina, imma miss out on the Micro Center location 😔 😅
Shouts out to my boy Jeremy at Micro Center
What Ausitn and Ken should have done toward the end was switch computers to see if it’s truly based on skill of the player Vs the hardware. Granted I think in that case Austin would win having Kens setup but just something to consider in the future.
Impressive video.
why does the editing of the video feel like it's a reality show ?!
Still waiting for a micro center to open that is closer than 6 hours round trip.
Yk Austin looks like he skips leg day every week😭💀
Very nice
My computer I got for my 18th birthday is over five years old, and it's still pretty fast most of the time!
Every video Ken is only concerned about what he can get out of it. It’s a pretty sweet job I guess when you can get your boss to buy all the shit that you want for yourself. He does it all the time with mystery tech to just buy shit that he wants.
