I think you have something here. I've never enjoyed one of your videos this much. I think from now on you have to have someone with you that is completely clueless and says things like "I get my food at the store" . I'll watch everyone of those.
My head hurts now. I realize I have been spoiled. I had a .22 in my hands when I was 8, a 20g at 10. It still surprises me that there are people who have never been thought how to Handle a firearm.
In my country it is forbidden to carry firearms. We simply do not need those. Carrying guns will create huge problems, we know that in Europe. How about you?
When I was about 8 I asked my Dad if I could use the .22 to go shoot rats in an old grain silo near our house, my Dad laughed when I told him there was "monster" rats and I was gonna kill one to show them, but he let me take the .22 Remington pump, which was the gun I learned to shoot with. I came home with a rat that was the size of a large house cat! My mom was screaming, my sisters were screaming & crying, my dad was mad but laughing, told em I was gonna kill a monster rat and I did, it had to be 15 lbs! I'm an only Son, I did so much camping fishing hiking shooting when I was a kid I made my "Boy Scout" friends jealous, I never joined the Cub/Boy Scouts, I was always too busy, it's nice being spoiled! ;) I laughed at Kevin, He needs to shoot the .22 and 20 ga for a while and get comfortable with them( love my 20 ga with it's 10 round mag), and than shoot the .270, the noise is worse than the punch in the shoulder and a 12 ga punches harder than a .270! ;)
Kevin surprised me. As much as he wasn't enthusiastic about it he did a pretty good job. When he shot the first gun, I thought he was faking it, that he didn't like shooting. Don't be so shy Kevin, we are all friends here.😁
So happy with your channel! Much informative and a lot of fun. Great to see how you and your brother get along with each other. Great family values.! Gun handling was also very informative, thanks!
I learned to handle weapons as a cadet back in the 1980s. We used re-barreled Lee Enfields (.303 to .22) as our indoor range weapon, and FN C1A1 at the outdoor ranges. Also personally owned a couple of other rifles. These days I live 12,000 km away and don't have a need for firearms, but it's still good to have the skills and respect for firearms.
I’ve been going back and rewatching a lot of your older videos. This is absolutely hilarious and fun to watch. Especially now that Kevin has his own channel and we know him a little better. The dynamic between you two is awesome. Both of your skill-sets combined make for a fantastic duo. Thanks for all that you guys do!
Lol, I probably wouldnt have trusted you if you were my brother: "Is it gonna hurt?" "I dont want a punch in the shoulder" hahaha! Kevin is a nice guy, really liked the videos with him so far (cabin build and sawmill)!
I've been shooting for 25 years. I've always shot a rifled slug out of a smooth bore shotgun. Never had any issues. In my understanding a rifled shotgun barrel can only shoot slugs but a smooth bore can shoot any shotgun load.
when I was young I kept leaning back instead of forward , my dad & uncle through a " hot" 12 gauge (shell) in on me . landed on my but & leaned in forward ever since much softer recoil. by the way bullets are the projectile in a cartridge fired from rifles & handguns., shotgun ( shells) have shot or slugs. terminology is important . to many people also think an " assault rifle " (made up term) fires repeatedly just by holding the trigger which is false . it is a semi-auto or sometimes called an auto-loader, not auto fire. these are some of the things that confuse and scare people who are not informed properly . any way cool , glad your doing this it should help folks understand better.

The two of you play off each other with such ease and natural timing allowing us viewers to feel as if we are there with you. It's so crazy to me how different you two are. My brother and I might not agree on politics and stuff like that but my dad taught us both how to hunt and fish and camp and we still love it.
LOL .. you two are soooooo funny. : ) I had the advantage of growing up with guns in our household. My Grandfather, Father and Brothers were/are avid hunters. Since I am probably old enough to be your Mother ... I don't hunt anymore, but I am still a pretty good shot! I also learned archery as well. The VERY first rule we learned always ..... "Never point a gun at anything you don't intend to kill!" My Father's mantra! Before we were ever allowed to shoot, we first learned to tear a gun apart, clean it and reassemble it. To know how every component worked. I'm with Kevin on the big guns ..... not my favorites to shoot, but I am wicked with a .22 !!! Stay safe and have fun. Good luck with the chain saw ...... I was never brave enough to attempt using one of those!!!!
The 270 is my favorite gun. I’ve harvested many deer and a handful of bear over the years. I took it to Georgia and shot a few boar with it too. Great gun! The 270 is the gun I recommend for anyone who wants to hunt deer bear ect. The one I have is a browning also
Great video. Very fun times and for some reason I find recoil actually fun. I think he should shoot the .270 just for the experience of it. 1 and done, just like with the .500mag I fired. Also firing slugs from a smooth bore shotgun barrel won't hurt the barrel, you just won't be as accurate for longer distances because it doesn't stabilize the slug with the spin from a rifled barrel. Nice and informative too.
Always love the sibling interaction and joking in vids with you two together! I've never held a gun in my life, not by choice but because such options are rare in my country of residence. But at least now i dont totally not know what to do i ever make it to a country where such is an option. I'd love to (succesfully) hunt sometime before i die. Haha i would probably have tried the big gun as well. But i respect Kevin for not letting any pressure dissuade him from his decision not to. Little seems more dangerous to me then handling a tool/weapon that youre afraid of. too much fear leads to mistakes as much as overconfidence. Still, i am pretty sure id feel 100% more comfortable handling the antelope gun than a chainsaw. So Kevin, youre no less brave for not shooting imho. In my book, anyone handling a chainsaw is a badass and has nothing to prove.
I hardly ever comment on anything. I love your channel and what you are doing. But I’ll bet it took some patience to deal with his disinterest because it was so foreign to him! Such a great dynamic duo for this! It’s just a shame that most people don’t have the KNOWLEDGE and grew up with it.
Good stuff. I appreciate his reluctance to shoulder the .270. I've been letting my wife (small frame) explore the calibers at her pace and it took her a couple years to mess with anything bigger than a 410. She got brave one time and shot the 7.62x54R (Mosin Nagant). That was funny, but it was her choice so I didn't get in trouble. I'm over here blasting away with the 12 gauge and 30-06 "cannons".
Love the channel been watching it a lot. Just wanted to let you know. You can shoot slugs through a smooth bore shotgun you do not need a rifled barrrel. Modern alugs also can be fired through a full choke.
I give him props for trying, here in rural Alaska alot of kids learn young like me around 5-10 yoa to shoot and respect firearms. My first shoot was 12ga 3 1/2 inch at five. Ever since I love 12ga, 300wm,338wm,45-70, 10ga. Love the vid

Maaaaan! I loved this video. I can totally relate to your brother. Lol. My dumb behind got a 12 gauge pump; 18.5 barrel as my 1st gun, for home defense! Lol. Needless to say, I was not ready for the recoil. 😂😂😂😂😂
I was 45 and never really shot a gun or hunted but always thought I might like to just too busy and other interests anyway we were travelling and going to visit a friend on my wife so I stopped and bought a couple of magazines in case I got bored. One was a 'Guns and Hunting MAgazine" and first article in the magazine was about getting started from scratch so I did and in the 15yrs since then have been an avid hunter and shooter I have a similar range of hunting firearms and a few antique military collectables which I love to take out plinking Also do a fair bit of reloading its a great hobby :) (my wife likes venison and rabbits to eat so also productive) not as expensive as you might think either as the guns can be cheap if you shop around the second hand market. an old 303 is very effective on deer etc, we don't have much bigger than that here. So for most people a 22 a 12 gauge and an old centrefire will do anything you need.
If i was there- at a great out in the woods location, their would be no begging me to shoot . I'd be begging for more shells & bullets. Good instruction given to the little fellow in the hoodie.
So much fun .306 at 13 years old I would hit 1 foot sized target at 300 yard with iron sights. Nothing like a great bolt action. Take the hit on the shoulder. Great show. Chainsaws and falling trees are far more risky.
You need some learning as well. You can shoot a rifled slug from a smooth bore even with a full choke. That is why the slug is groved, to allow it to compress in the choke. A rifled barrel yes will shoot a lead slug but is really meant for a sabot. Shooting lead will over time if not cleaned collect in the rifling. Just a FYI for you in the future. Rifled slugs have been around for longer than rifled slug barrels for shot guns.
I several guns and the old 20 ga has a wood stock and not a large recoil pad and you feel the recoil. The 12 ga not as much. The AR15 almost no recoil. However, I have a 50 cal mussel loader and with full load definitely has a kick. See if Kevin will try mussel loader sport shooting.
.22 is one of the funnest rounds to target practice and hunt with. Other folks mileage will vary. I agree with Kevin on shotguns. They aren't fun and it can take some time to find one you like. There's also 16 gauge and 410. 20 gauge is more versatile than 12 to me because a wider number of body frames can use a 20 more comfortably than a 12, especially if you have an actual decent 20 gauge shotgun. 270 can be fun, depending on platform.
That Foster slug can be fired through smooth and rifled barrels. They are shells not bullets when referring to shotguns. The .270 will be just fine for any moose.
@@TheWoodedBeardsman Not bad video though. Shared your last one on Canadian Gun Nutz because there was a guy asking about getting started. Lots of positive remarks.

Hey dude I know I have given u a hard time ,but diggin this series . I have seen hunter safety and non restricted firearms coarse in a weekend . What are your thoughts on it . You said a one week hunter coarse in the last video .
I think it's 40 hours or something like that. It's mostly on gun and hunter safety. I would think this is a fair investment given the power you get with a gun.
The one thing I can say is practice, practice. And then practice some more. I've been shooting for over sixty years. Also learning to mount the gun to the shoulder so it doesn't slap you takes practice.
As far as shotguns go, you can fire a slug through a smooth bore shotgun barrel of the correct calibre, it just won't be as accurate as a rifled shotgun barrel. Some slugs are specifically designed to be shot through a smoothbore barrel. Too tight a choke can distort the shape of the slug and lead to poor accuracy however. Look for any recommendations on the ammunition packaging as regards to choke. A Very good and interesting channel, keep up the good work!

LOL .. you two are soooooo funny.
You are very lucky! I learned on my own.
The 270 is my favorite gun. I’ve harvested many deer and a handful of bear over the years. I took it to Georgia and shot a few boar with it too. Great gun! The 270 is the gun I recommend for anyone who wants to hunt deer bear ect. The one I have is a browning also
Yup, love it already!
It's etc, as in et cetera. "And So On". To write ect makes zero sense.
You can shoot slugs in the 20 gauge with the long field barrel rifled slugs in a smooth bore, unrifled slugs in a rifled barrel.
What shot would you use for Turkey hunting for 12 gauge
It's in the regs...not sure it's 4 or 5 I think, don't quote me.
@@TheWoodedBeardsman well I finally stopped being around the Bush and took my hunters safety course I'll be hunting this year woohoo
Full stop, as always, great stuff keep it up. Can't add any whitty comments that haven't already been posted, just here to support you man!!
Very entertaining.... as always great video:)
Rifle- “squeeze” trigger..............Shotgun- “pull” the trigger. Kevin is hilarious by the way.
I'm over here blasting away with the 12 gauge and 30-06 "cannons".
hey Chris, awesome video btw, forgot to mention that!!, watchedit 3 times, and still lmao, thank you
hahaah, I had a good laugh editing!!!
Hope u an your family are stay safe my dude thanks for the vid 👍
Love the channel been watching it a lot. Just wanted to let you know. You can shoot slugs through a smooth bore shotgun you do not need a rifled barrrel. Modern alugs also can be fired through a full choke.
I give him props for trying, here in rural Alaska alot of kids learn young like me around 5-10 yoa to shoot and respect firearms. My first shoot was 12ga 3 1/2 inch at five. Ever since I love 12ga, 300wm,338wm,45-70, 10ga. Love the vid

Thankfully no one saw me load up the rigs.
That was awesome Chris good job Kevin lol 👍👌👏 those are some nice guns and then look pretty simple to use. I like the first one too I think it's a really good beginners level gun. ☺️😁
Yup, it's a great gun to start.
Thanks Wooded Beardsman I've been think about how you were saying it time to really get prepared your so right thank man I love your channel been watching since you and Jerry did your first wilderness challenge those are awesome series thank for your help channel 🤙👍
Hilarious!! See if you can get Kevin to shoot from the tree blind or out of the cabin loft window. Be sure to put a safety harness on him.
hahaha
Good to see people unfamiliar with guns being taught trigger discipline!
Full stop 🛑 fun with guns and your brothers😁👍🏻🇺🇸
Maaaaan! I loved this video. I can totally relate to your brother. Lol. My dumb behind got a 12 gauge pump; 18.5 barrel as my 1st gun, for home defense! Lol. Needless to say, I was not ready for the recoil. 😂😂😂😂😂
But I am looking forward to using it for hunting when all this crap is over.
The more you shoot it, the easier it gets!
Thank you so much! I was laughing so hard. Seriously I forget I was there so many yrs ago meself.
Chris..your gonna shoot all the guns
Kevin.. I'm not shooting all the guns. A little surprised a rural Canadian man isn't a bit more gun savvy.
I've got people for that!
I've always thought that as long as you don't have a choke at the end of your shotgun you can shoot a slug out of a non rifled barrel?
I think so. Just won't be as accurate. I should have said that.
@@TheWoodedBeardsman 100% can. the slug has rifling on the exterior of the round itself, so it "spins itself"
"And in this next episode we instruct in African dangerous game hunting. Here, Kevin, shoot this 375 H&H Magnum". "I don't want to shoot it!" Lol!
bhahahaahah
If i was there- at a great out in the woods location, their would be no begging me to shoot . I'd be begging for more shells & bullets. Good instruction given to the little fellow in the hoodie.
So much fun
.306 at 13 years old I would hit 1 foot sized target at 300 yard with iron sights. Nothing like a great bolt action.
Take the hit on the shoulder.
Great show.
Chainsaws and falling trees are far more risky.
Good for you Kevin. Dont let him fully influence You!
Rifled slugs have been around for longer than rifled slug barrels for shot guns.
love my 270 Browning, accurate, nothing but accurate, 4 rounds @200 yards within 2 inches
Good Kevin. Dont let him influence you!
this guy has so many school supplies!
I several guns and the old 20 ga has a wood stock and not a large recoil pad and you feel the recoil. The 12 ga not as much. The AR15 almost no recoil. However, I have a 50 cal mussel loader and with full load definitely has a kick. See if Kevin will try mussel loader sport shooting.
great video buddy
.22 is one of the funnest rounds to target practice and hunt with.
Very fun video, very enjoyable 👍
That Foster slug can be fired through smooth and rifled barrels. They are shells not bullets when referring to shotguns. The .270 will be just fine for any moose.
I've heard it'll work on moose too, just need to hit them in the right spot.
@@TheWoodedBeardsman Not bad video though. Shared your last one on Canadian Gun Nutz because there was a guy asking about getting started. Lots of positive remarks.
17:13 “Cunanies” he combine punani and cahones. 😂💀😂
I was ignorant on shooting guns for a good portion of my life too but your bro did alright. Nice job on finding content for us to enjoy during this crazy time. FYI, you belong on Alone if the world ever opens up again...
You can fire slugs in your smoothbore, accuracy wont be as good though. As long as there's no tight chokes or anything like that it's safe.
well done!!
I have a 30 0 6 is that less powerful than your 270 ?
I think it is more.
What distance will the 20gage kill a fox at whit a slug
Good as long as you are accurate! 50-100 yards should be reachable.
Yes hunt and process squirrel😃
Kevin- 410 for the Win.
Yup, think so.
The video quality is top notch with the new camera.
Thanks!
