- Abandoned Taco Bell - York, PA. Enjoy a look at this old and outdated location that was closed for a new location just up the street. This building was repainted to try and get rid of Taco Bell's identity to it.

I really dislike the boring shoebox design of fast food places these days.
Me too
The world is getting more distopian as we speak and it's really sad. I was born in 1971 so I've seen the changes to a less creative branding than how it used to be done.
I didn't know Taco Bell is hurting that bad but it doesn't surprise me anymore as nothing should. Great find
This one didn’t close because of them hurting, it closed because they built a new one right down the street. this one was old, outdated and hard to get into. It also kept having cars running into it.
They needed a better space, the lot was too cramped to get around, the drive thru was awkward, and like the other person said it was hard to get in and out of. I've gone through this particular drive thru hundreds of times. Food and service was fine but it was always kind of annoying to go to.
Here in my town of Elkton Maryland is an older Taco Bell that closed down bc they built a new shoebox building of course and the windows are papered up so can’t see inside.
I don't remember seeing a Taco Bell in Elkton when I was a little kid in the 2000's. Which part of Elkton was it in, the city part or going towards North East? I never went through the town of Elkton though, only North East. I only went to Walmart in Elkton near North East.
Great video as always Wallie! Thank you for the channel recommendation, I really appreciate it! I can't recall ever eating at this location, but I did try the new one down the street a few times already. When they were cleaning this place out, I was able to get one of the signs in the dumpster. The West Manchester Mall was my mom's local mall, and I remember going there a few times before they closed it in 2014. It was a beautiful Crown American mall, and it was just one floor, but the Macy's I believe was 2 floors.
Yes, it was just one floor at the old West Manchester Mall. Thank you for pointing that out as I forgot to comment that in my comment. Do you know if the Burger King on White St across from Delco had a remodel or not? I have not made it out that way since BK had a fire. In other York area news, the Sheetz on Queen St is being demolished and will reopen in 2025 (apparently with a drive thru). Guess they're trying to get a leg up on Wawa since they're coming to the area.
@@ThatPAScratcherGuy Yes, the Burger King on White Street was remolded.
Nice awesome 90s colors! hope you are doing well, and I hope you have a grate rest of your day!
Hi
@@AbandonedToysrus-tc7tj hi
Man, I miss the 80's & 90's Taco Bell!! Especially the 80's wedge design TB's! The last time I went to a wedge style Taco Bell was back in 2000, just before they closed them all in favor of the new-ish design like the one in this video. Now ever since the mid to late 2010's, the old 90's design is considered obsolete and getting renovated to the standard "shoebox style" that every fast food place is going with. Damn I feel old, lol.
I worked tbell 07-recently. I prefer the old style of the 90s. Oldie goodie.
I love those colors! 😍. I miss the old TB style. Has so much character.
Pretty sure I saw that video of Jeremy's, or at the least, I definitely saw it in my TH-cam feed.
Awesome Wall
Jeremy is a super guy and I love his videos. Of course I love your videos too!
West Manchester Mall was a mall but they turned it into a outdoor shopping center happy you are going through my hometown
Another great video! Don't see these kind of Taco Bell places anymore! SAD!
Looking at that place makes my stomach hurt. Another nice find by wallie🙂👍
I hate these shoe box styles. I don't understand why these fast food places do this. The buildings have no personality.
Right? It makes them all look the same. It takes their real identities away from them.
Kudos to your TH-cam Channel, Wallie! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 It would be great if all fast food restaurants would keep the old school aesthetics, even when they build and open up a new location.
Awesome toac Bell finds it's been awhile since you done abandoned place I've been looking forward going out to eat but it's closed for now.
Great find Wallie! This definitely brings back memories of being a small kid with my brother and sister in the 90s, 00s going to Taco Bell seeing buildings this style with those colors these were cool and had character, unlike all these boring shoeboxes now that are just depressing! Great video bro I do have a suggestion for you and it's still in business- an OG style Pizza Hut that you can eat in and still has the classic buffet. It's in Ravenna OH please eat there and film it because I don't believe it'll be there much longer. My brother Ryan took me there Saturday for my birthday was very good. Vintage early 80s for sure.
You're in my hood now, lots of abandoned gems in York!
I really love your content these days, starting loving it for about 7 years I can’t remember ❤
At Home was a Macy's, but West Manchester Mall was a single story mall that was built by Crown American decades ago.The Macy's was added much later when the mallopend in was anchored by a Hess's, Gee Bee and Bon Ton. Right across the street was an old McDonald's now Bob's In town Spas. There is a non typical Wendy's behind that old McDonald's
Awesome video I love those colors
Yo heads up Wally!!👍🏻 Chers man! 🤤😋🤘👌😊
Awww! I could have met up with you to explore York together! I'd like to know the story behind the old Giant building up a little bit on the right, off 30..it's been sitting for like 20 years+ And yes, I'm hearing so many complaints about the new dining design layouts...no one cares much for them...thanks and I'll be watching for new!
Awesome taco bell 🔔
Hi Wallie! I'm new to the channel so I wanted you to know that you are cool and you are loved and if you need anything please let me know
WallieB PLEASE get to Altoona Kmart when you can. They are removing the orange arches. They are turning it into Rural King. Sears is still there tho. And Spirit Halloween in ACMoore. No 2 spirit Halloweens down the road this year 😂
@wallieb26, dang I keep missing you my area. I live in Hanover, use to live in York. My cousin was a manager at this Taco Bell years ago. About two years ago, a car ran into it. But if you’re ever in the area again, my family and I would like to meet you. If you’re ever in the area again, and you can’t find a hotel, we’ll gladly help you out. There’s so much stuff in this area that you could use for videos. I’ll be glad to show you around.
Shoebox designs make every fast food place look the same! I miss the days when fast food restaurants had CHARACTER to them!
That place where at home & Walmart etc is use to be call the west Manchester mall it was only a one story mall closed years ago
Yes the old exxon has been closed for probably over 30 years. My dad was friends with the owner
I'd like to see Wallie hit that up along with the old Howard Johnson check in building on the other side of the highway. And those buildings across next to the harley store that are going to be torn down
That restaurant is loving the shoe box look 👎👎
The intersection isn't the best. You are in my area😂 the new taco bell is actually bigger and preferable over than this small one especially due to the specific small lot size.
there was a Kentucky Fried Chicken here in the 80s. I can't remember if this was the first Taco Bell in York or if the (now torn down and replaced with a box) one on White St was.
Amazing video wallie.
They've been doing that with elementary and middle schools around here where they pretty much all look the same with very little differences
Another great vid Wallie🤗❤️ Has Taco Bell fallen on hard times?
I live near that Taco Bell, and the front window a vehicle went thru it at one point.
Was this the one that the stucco outside briefly caught on fire at also?
@@no98765 I believe so actually
We have a really really old Taco Bell with the building still up in Jefferson City Missouri it's no longer a Taco Bell it's actually been abandoned for a long time but you can tell it was a Taco Bell the way it looks but the design of this one looks like from the 70s
One of my local Taco Bell’s has the old school look and just updated the signage
As always great video 👍
Oh if only we all could go back to those days of yesterday when any restaurant out there had their own style and look and wasn't trying to look like all the others as a boring, ugly, unoriginal shoebox !just so sad there is no time machine to help us all.
I live near McDonald that closed in 2001 sat abandoned so many years recently roof collapsed it was over news last night I drove by it now gated up and has a tarp on roof where use to be
Nice interior colors!🌮
This has to be an older style yeah?
I've been following Jeremy's channel for the last year as well. He did a great video about the North Mall. Where the Abandoned LA Fitness was at.
that looks like late 90s build surpised they did not convert it to newer one
should go check out Skid Row Garage in York PA
I think this used to be a Rax. The At Home was originally built in the mid 1990's as a Hecht's. It became a Macy's in 2005.
Rax was down route 30 where the El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant is next to Lazy Boy and T-mobile.
@@JeremysRetailExplorationI think you are right. I remember going to the Rax on South Queen Street near the Queensgate Shopping Center. They had roast beef sandwiches and a huge salad bar. I was sad when it closed and became a Taco Bell. It has since been demolished and rebuilt.
For an old McDonald's not far from there, check out West Manchester Diner. It's not far off 30, located at 930 Carlisle Rd. The outside has the old McDonald's look to it and the inside still has the same floor.
As far as At Home, that was originally a Hecht's which then became a Macy's before being turned into At Home. The mall itself was West Manchester Mall which was very similar in layout to the Chambersburg Mall (both were Crown America malls). Hecht's/Macy's was added as an edition in the mid 90's. Part of the mall itself was demolished. The exterior of At Home where the glass windows are was once the interior mall entrance into Hecht's/Macy's which is by what is now the "state store" .
Love the steak quesadilla at Taco 🌮 Bell 🔔 😋
Could you do the spirit Halloween‘s in York?
I'm old enough to remember the 80s taco bell 🔔 restaurant im 48 they were small but better taste they had a taco pizza, supreme burrito 🌯 that was there big mac of a burrito, now everything is like real large burritos that they grilled both sides very stuffed. They make boxes with ur burritos chips and nacho sauce 🌮 fry bread into a taco meal lol, anyway thanks for sharing this Wallie. Awesome 😎👍📸🤘
Mine Taco Bell has moved across the street and down a little bit from the old location and even the old one that where I go too it just looks abandoned and the same paper was on as this one and I can see through it too
Taco bell is my favorite restaurant
I really feel you there man. I used to have an old Taco Bell from the 70s or 80s that had wooden beams in the ceiling and it was there forever until they bulldozed it in the early 2020s to build one of those shitty shoebox buildings. I'm guessing that the reason behind that is so they can easily sell out the other fast food chains if business gets poor. It's easy just to swap a sign and a few decorations from a taco bell, burger king, MacDonald, Arby's, and a Wendy's if they all have the same kind of buildings. I honestly don't like it, but there is a Hardee's that is still open here in Summerville with the old style and I was thinking about going there in the morning and getting some cinnamon raisin biscuits for my birthday.
I always cut through this shopping centers parking lot to avoid route 30 traffic. Lol
Right where u r is where the spirit Halloween is
York pa along rt 30 is a pain with traffic lights if you hit one red you get them all red if you get a green light you get them all green usually
This was a very odd location and also very easy to be going the wrong way. The drive thru was confusing and getting there from 30 could be difficult if you didn't know the area. This is the only location in York that I know of that moved as the other 3 were completely demolished and rebuilt. I don't blame them for moving to a different site.
They moved across the street to a new one
I live down the street from this
NOOOOOOO
I would think the food places would want to keep their original identity instead of being bland like all the others. A trade mark they're all losing.
Aw dang
York ain't far from me! Like hour or so maybe
Yo quiero Taco Bell!
It used to be nice. Until they moved across the street. I like older buildings not modern day things
I know exactly where this is
They bult a new one in tje same area just down the road a bit
Big lots?.... bankrupt future building's
I saw this one in crowanaburgers video
Do you think that toco bell might reopen
People who saw t mobile
