thanks. I never like to go in there and just start yanking on stuff without knowing what I'm doing saved me a $80 install fee and a lot of anxiety. keep up the good work
thanks for the video. I have a question. since you say that the stereo is vin locked to its specific vehicle, will I run into problems trying to just remove the factory stereo and put an aftermarket one? I have a 2004 GMC Yukon Denali with Bose audio system by the way.
will the steering wheel controls still work the radio? I know it didn't work for my Durango. I don't want to put an aftermarket radio in my Suburban if the controls won't work from the steering wheel.
Just bought a 2004 Silverado that has an aftermarket stereo installed. I want to swap it for a different model stereo. Do I have to have to have the BCM re-coded?
When I get mine unscrewed it seems as if the wires are holding it in place and I'm unable to pull it out. Should I just pull harder? Or is there a way to unhook the connectors while radio is in the dash?
So, if I take my original stereo out of my 2005 Tahoe, I could put an aftermarket stereo in, but if I decided to put my original back in, I wouldn't have to get it reprogrammed, would I?
its got a short because somtimes ill be going down the road n the speakers will just start working it sound good when there all going but its not alot its got a short somewere i believe in the driver door

Mark Johnston Use a BIG HAMMAR
Did you ever figure out how too remove the radio? I'm having same problem only moves a inch.
Ryan Sullivan I just ended up wiggling it up and down a bit and it pops right out. There a thing at the back that has to let go
Thanks Mark!!
I took out the temp control and had room to angle it down. Then moved cables to free it.

Is it factory or aftermarket? Check to make sure every connection is the correct one, check fuse behind radio, and fuses in block(dashboard).
