Thanks for your feedback on sunflower hulls. Last grow, I was playing around with "what's the least amount of watering I can do" so that probably hurt. This time, I watered to saturation day 1 under lights (poured off the excess) then every other day. I also misted the sunflowers and gently ran my hand across the tops daily, and that really seems to be working! Thanks as always for the great info. I listened while working in my (outdoor) garden and it was great!
I personally haven't. I wouldn't think it would help as peat moss is already a good source of carbon. But, please keep me up to date if you do any experiments with biochar! Always open to new ideas and ways to improve :)
@@microgreensconsulting Will do! Atm I'm trying to figure out if it'll be cost effective to use it with micros, I really like using biochar to replace some peat moss as a more sustainable alternative. It's very interesting the way it both holds water well and helps to aerate. I especially love Persist as it's made from pistachio shell waste and has a unique structure
My broccoli microgreens used to be perfect. Now some of the pjs bra are getting marks (not uniform spots) on them and some slightly slightly yellowing. I put the trays in the dishwasher.

Glad the hulls are coming off now! :)
Excellent . Good job Jonah. question: How do you prevent mold. Do fans need to be on all day?
Yes, but just a slight breeze is needed and not directly on the crop. An oscillating fan will do the trick!
Great video thank you! Have you you ever included any type of biochar in your soil experiments?
