About Me:
As a young child, Jonah Krochmalnek, the visionary founder of Living Earth Farm, experienced the sheer delight of a ripe homegrown tomato from his dad's garden. It was a taste of pure magic, a simple pleasure he wanted to make accessible to all.
After leaving the corporate world, Jonah volunteered at a local farm, igniting his passion for farming. In 2013, he took a leap of faith and launched a microgreens business right out of his parents' modest 150 sqft spare room. Little did he know that this humble beginning would grow into the 5000 sqft facility known today as Living Earth Farm - one of Canada's premier organic microgreen growers.
Driven by the purpose of feeding people the absolute most nutritious greens, Jonah's journey is a testament to the transformative power of growing food. Through personalized consultations and impactful coaching, Jonah is on a mission to share his wealth of knowledge, helping vertical farms across the globe thrive and making delicious, simple food accessible to communities everywhere. Hi Jonah, I am using your Microgreens Mastery course. I am thoroughly enjoying it! It is a great help I have just planted my eight tray (second batch/grow) and wondered... Based on the seeding rates suggested in your Microgreens Mastery course, what are the expected yield ranges for each crop type please. The reason I ask is so I know what good looks like when honing my growing skills. Many thanks, Peter.

    Amazing content, as always! Quick question... Do you ever notice a few (almost none) ""roting"" or rather ""not so fresh"" radishes due to undergrowth, late germination, etc, undert the canopy? if so, do you treat them as "its normal let them be" or what do you do?

    • @microgreensconsulting
      @microgreensconsulting 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That tends to happen most often when too high seed densities are used and sometimes due to poor quality seed. Recommend between 20-25 grams for most radish varieties

    • @microgreensconsulting

    • @microgreensconsulting
      @microgreensconsulting 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Because the plants grow slower without fertilizer. All three trays were more purple when they were younger, but the ones with fertilizer were able to continuing growing instead of being stunted. Harvesting earlier will allow more purple to come through

    Well now I'm confused. At first you said cilantro germinates less effectively as heat increases but then say Charlie is getting 5 day germ on cilantro instead of 7 because his temperatures are higher. That's contradictory.

    • @microgreensconsulting
      @microgreensconsulting 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It's not linear. Up to a certain temp all seeds will germinate faster and after that point they will slow down. That optimal point is different for each crop and the cutoff temp when the seed germinates is different for each variety as well. Cilantro about 85f will simply not germinate well. Between 70-80 is optimal
