Y’all are legitimately the ONLY ads I don’t skip through! Most creators with recurring “sponsors”, have a standard boring “ad read” - where they replay the same one over and over and it’s legit just them doing bare minimum. Y’all make it fun!
katelyn's signature eye shadow on fleek. evan, please start a technology review channel. That would be the best for viewers, and you would get hella sponsors.
yes maybe he could do like a useless project series and a joobie series testing products for cats but also doing fun projects and more advanced stuff to it would be awesome!!!!!
I really appreciate your transparency with your fanbase/viewers. I feel like some "TH-camrs"/content-creators tend to act as if the whole sponsorship aspect of TH-cam is taboo to talk about. It's honestly no different than a Nascar driver having a brand logo on their car. When you take your content seriously and want to take it to the next level and make it your sole income, sponsorship is the only real gateway to that end-goal on TH-cam. It is what it is 🤷♀️
Humor is the best way to transmitting a message. if the company doesn't want humor is planing the wrong product or company over all and shame on them for contacting you and trying to change you guys. if they reach you is because they like the way you do things.
yeeeesss technology go bag! There is something so satisfying about having a backpack full of every electronic you might need if you are suddenly stranded on a desert island with power plugs and wifi.
i know you dont do product reviews and i know evan was talked a lot wanting to do some kinda tech reviews. i would love to see something like that !!!!!!
This is the first video on TH-cam I’ve come across where I have been able to get a proper insight on what it’s like to run a channel. Thank you for being so honest and actually giving us useful information. All the videos I’ve seen on TH-cam has always been a whole bunch of fluff and I leave the video with absolutely no knowledge. You deserve all the sponsors. Also your sponsor videos are the only ones I never skip through.
01:11:55 there is a huge difference. As HDD means hard disk drive which is usually shortened to hard drive, it is a storage drive which has a physical disk where all the data is written. Whereas, SSD or solid-state drive also called flash storage, have their data on memory chips which store information by the means of electronic circuitries usually flip flops made by NAND or NOR gates and we arrive NAND flash which is commonly used in SSDs. TL;DR hard drive has a physical disk in it and flash drive has integrated circuits (IC) chips in it to store data. Evan, you asked I have answered the difference.
Thank you guys for all the time and effort you put on your videos/podcast/twitch/affiliate links.....etc..... for the help, laughs and transparency about sensitive topics 🙌🏼
Back in MY day.... floppy discs! Thin but 5” square don’t scratch it or touch parts of it that only held mega bytes (if even that much) of data. Talking 1980s. 😂🤣
In regard to paid reviews, I like how Linus from LTT sees that. He says that there is no such thing as a "paid review", you either have a review or a paid showcase. Also, he is sponsored by a VPN company that doesn't care a lot, so his pitch is that "if you want to pirate movies, or have other reasons to hide your identity use this VPN". Not necessarily good/bad, but not something many companies would be comfortable with ;) By the way, LTT also has a 2 videos (one very recent) on their income distribution which might be interesting to compare to you own
Covering third party brand IP isn’t new, it’s been around since the beginning of advertising, at one point it was banned to have any brands at all, on the BBC, that’s why you’ll sometimes here the phrase ‘other brands of are available’
A lot of this reminds me of the product reviews I do. I don't get paid for any of them but in almost all cases I get to keep the product. In one case I contacted the company, they were into it, they sent the item, I reviewed it, and I've used it every since. Then I talked to them again about a different product and they (different person) were like, yes well send it to you, but it is a loan, you will have to send it back, and even made me sign a contract. They said "some TH-camrs don't know the difference between a review unit and a sponsorship". So that was weird and a little awkward.
I enjoyed this podcast very much! Thank You for spilling those beans. I think it doesn't matter if a person has a You Tube channel or not - at some point, we all wonder about this mysterious world of You Tube, and how it works! Very informative! ♡
Your background looks like your spin art! Thank you for the video. My husband and I are starting our Twitch/TH-cam career this month and we don't know what we are doing. Your tips help! :)
This is just what I've been looking for!! Thank you so much for your transparency about the behind the scenes of content creation. I'm currently trying to learn the ropes myself and have been struggling to find really good advice/resources on the business side. Love your work and looking forward to many years of more fun crazy projects from you two!
This is interesting, Ive been interested by the TH-cam/online job financials of how so many people are able to make money off sponsors and survive. I also enjoy that you have the ability to be creative and flexible with your sponsored ads VS someone who does more "cold cut" ads.
Great podcast!! I loved hearing some of the different stories and experiences you had with sponsors. I had a logistical question about sponsorship deals. If a brand wanted to send you a physical contract or a product for your video, do you recommend using a USPS PO Box? I know a lot of businesses prefer different shipping companies like Fedex, but some third party shipping companies won't ship to USPS PO Boxes. Thank you, and keep up the great work! :D
I was going to ask if they ever were approched by raid shadow legends and what they thought about it since alot of YTubers work with them and also hate them as sponsors so who knows
I'm not a tax accountant, but it's my understanding that anything that was necessary to make the video could be considered a business expense, including the consumables. For a "DIY vs buy" video, that would include the bought item and the materials used to make the DIY version. Also the cameras, microphones, studio lights, the work table, the background of the "set", tools, and even the food used in the cooking videos. The downside is that's a helluva lot of bookkeeping to track all of it.
Well you think you have a lot of channels. Look up jack sucks at life, he just got the world record for most amount of channels with 100k subs, it is eight
Thanks for sharing, guys and for helping everyone out! We TRUST YOU! We love working with you!
Y’all are legitimately the ONLY ads I don’t skip through! Most creators with recurring “sponsors”, have a standard boring “ad read” - where they replay the same one over and over and it’s legit just them doing bare minimum. Y’all make it fun!

We need evans tech corner

“Evan loves tiny things” That completely makes sense Katelyn 😂
She's not tiny. He's just huge.
@@sinnastevenson2302 But from his perspective, she IS tiny! 😀
That’s a nice spin art background!
Katelyn only half approved that intro haha

take a shot every time Evan says "what have you".
evan loves little things, you've got baby computer, baby backpack... baby wife? XD
hello evanandkatelyn {last_name} ,, your family is so lovely, I love your content.
Thanks for answering my questions!
It's nice to know you don't take my eyeballs for granted
i know you dont do product reviews and i know evan was talked a lot wanting to do some kinda tech reviews. i would love to see something like that !!!!!!
Ooh for small things that Evan loves, I won’t ever forget the tiny extruded aluminum used in the underwater stream!!!!
Thanks for answering my question guys! I've been tearing through these podcasts and am going to be a sad boi once I've caught all the way up.
Congratulations!
Very informative. Thanks.

Cardboard box review channel, brilliant. LOL.

thank you for all your hard work! and your ads are hilarioud!
Mildly self-involved out-of-context confusing but pure gold if you're in the club - podcast (prank to #1) 😂
Back in MY day... We used Zip drives for "large" rewritable storage
I had an external parallel port model. That thing was so slow, but 100MB was huge back then.

@@lindacondray7918 I remember floppy discs from school, but I didn't get my own computer until college in the late 90s.
Thank you guys so much for answering my question! I love you guys and have been watching for a long time. I love the wholesome vibes :)
Was very interesting, very dense, love it

That reminds me of Tom Scott's "honest VPN ad" video that *almost* got a VPN sponsorship (before the company backed out last minute).
It would be awesome if Evan had a tech channel or on discord where he shares his fav tech!

Yup, there’s even a term for it - “Greeking”.

Is that background evans spin art sun set???
I enjoyed this podcast very much! Thank You for spilling those beans.

Indirectly I got the answer of my question
Thank you guys ! Now I know how much sponsors help you in your job
Your background looks like your spin art! Thank you for the video. My husband and I are starting our Twitch/TH-cam career this month and we don't know what we are doing. Your tips help! :)
I saw Mary and the witches flower on australian free tv. SBS32 was the channel.
I loved it also.
Hello Even and Kaitlyn!
This is just what I've been looking for!! Thank you so much for your transparency about the behind the scenes of content creation. I'm currently trying to learn the ropes myself and have been struggling to find really good advice/resources on the business side. Love your work and looking forward to many years of more fun crazy projects from you two!
Someone get Evan water!
Love you guys!🥰💖
If a Karen ask to talk to their manager they can say you are talking to the manager.
"HELP. Someone is spilling beans on Squarespace!"
"Somehow the entire company is getting beans spilled on top of them"
Possibly bcuz SquareSpace has sooooo many pots of beans out there!
The more ya got,
the more spills happen.

Speaking of little things that Evan has, Katelyn. They just need to make a backpack to carry her around.

1:09:01 LOOOOOOOL love the reaction.
I don't usually like sponsorships but you make them actually interesting!
Also the camera seems weirdly close today.
Great podcast as always :)
They moved it up permanently 🙂 they mentioned it in their last podcast
39:49 this makes me miss the 80s when u still often saw brands in movies. Lol.
Hey! I joined ur patreon after watching a video that y’all sponsored. Lol. So, it Def can pay off to “sponsor” your own videos every now and again!
how long is your aftershow?. I want to do Patreon but I don't know if it will be worth it
57:59 - That would actually make sense if you were hired by a company made up of cats.
I was going to ask if they ever were approched by raid shadow legends and what they thought about it since alot of YTubers work with them and also hate them as sponsors so who knows
Do a diy vs buy fidget spinner
Love Evan andkatlyn I am nine years old you inspired us to doresib

You can get 1TB micro Sd Cards...

You should totally name names of that one that pulled out at the last minute. Shame them!!!!!

This is somewhat unrelated but... does the paint spinning supplies go under business expenses or personal
