  • We are lucky enough to be in the path of totality for the April 8 2024 Solar Eclipse. This is the second total solar eclipse we have experienced (The 2017 solar eclipse was the first). This is a once in a lifetime experience. After experiencing this we now know why people travel around the world to witness this. This once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon occurs when the moon passes between the sun and Earth, casting a shadow on our planet and creating a breathtaking display of light and darkness. Join us as we experience #totality

    Welcome to our Big Family Expedition! We are a family of 8 that sold everything we owned in 2019 to travel full time with our kids. After being stationary for a while we have decided to live the RV lifestyle again. We are converting a #skoolie for full time travel 2024. Be sure to subscribe to follow along on our upcoming travels.
    Not a Black Hole, But a Solar Eclipse, But I am watching a solar eclipse, But I am watching the 2024 solar eclipse, But I am totality for the 2024 total solar eclipse But I am watching the great American eclipse, But I am making a video about the solar eclipse, But Not 2024 Total Solar Eclipse: Through the Eyes of NASA (Official Broadcast), But I don't know if this will work, or any other video like NASA, National Geographic, NOVA PBS Official, FV Family, Space Voyager, Facts Verse, The Weather Channel, Video From Space, Interstellar News, Mr. Beast, Chuck Cassidy, Isaac Turner, A Bus Life Story, Navigation Nowhere, Us Plus A Bus, Mobile Dwellings, or Jess & Jake would make. This is a real life journey of us building a custom rv to travel full time in 2024.

    Watching the eclipse was one of the best experiences of my life. Also, yes. Never, ever, look at the sun the without eye protection until totality.
    P.S.
    Or just wait until Alberto says you can look.😂

      Have you ever been able to watch one? It is hard to describe what it's like. Even pictures and videos don't completely show its magnitude. Thank you for watching!

    In 2017 the totality passed over a family member's house in Idaho so we went up to see it. This year it passed over another family member's house in Texas so we went down to see it (the clouds almost didn't cooperate but we managed to get a pretty good view in the end). The next one in 2045 will pass right over my parent's current house. It's an unreal experience. My two favorite parts were in 2017 the skies were perfectly clear and you could actually see the darkness coming toward you across the wide open area we were at. My other favorite part is just how weird the overall light gets once the sun starts getting covered. It's almost like looking through a set of polarized glasses.

    • @bigfamilyexpedition
      @bigfamilyexpedition  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That is so awesome that you had family at both locations. We were lucky enough to have clear skies both times. The change in lighting is something you almost can't explain to someone who hasn't seen it happen. We've already been talking about where to go for 2045 😂.

    Thanks for sharing your experience we were also right in the path of totality in 2017 it was perfect nothing for us this hear. Great transition putting your glasses at the camera nice job. Also really enjoyed seeing how dark you guys got. Wow nice job describing what all happens and gets everyone watching! Best wishes for us all in 2045!

It really is an incredible experience! I hope in 2045 we all get to enjoy it! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. We appreciate it.

    Hi Chrissy and Kenny! Jason and I were sure we were going to have a great view that day. The clouds rolled in, we couldn't see the eclipse. We did go from light, to darkness and back to light! Awesome experience. TY for sharing your view with us! Great video!

    It was good that you were able to view it without having to travel far. People travel great distances to be able to see the total solar eclipse. The family all seemed to be excited. Thanks for the video showing the eclipse. Just as well it wasn't a black hole, that made me laugh. The black hole swallowed the moon and the sun. I'm no scientist, but something tells me that wouldn't be good...or possible. ⚫🌚🌞

    • @bigfamilyexpedition
      @bigfamilyexpedition  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm no scientist either but I agree that a black hole would be bad. We now understand why people travel to watch them. I've always wanted to travel to New Zealand, so maybe that will be my excuse to go there, #eclipse2028 and vacation!

      @@bigfamilyexpedition As long as you don't go just to see it; what happens if the weather is awful. Here I am quoting something I read earlier: "A Dunedin astronomer is so excited by the prospect of witnessing a total solar eclipse on his doorstep, he bought his house 10 years ago with a view of it in mind..." 😲

    • @bigfamilyexpedition
      @bigfamilyexpedition  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@kiwiman627 Wow, buying a house, that is dedication! I would definitely want to see other stuff while we were there. I have wanted to go for a long time.
