A great solution, the only thing I would have added would be a small red (engaged) light on the outside of each door that comes on with the bathroom light. That way each tenant would know that the room is in use before trying the doors. They would also see at a glance when the room becomes available again.
How's this solution working out for you? I got a PIR sensor electrical plug to use on my Christmas tree and really enjoyed it until the forced-air heating started triggering it. What kind of false triggers have you experienced? Based on my experience with that PIR plug, for my Jack and Jill bathroom issue, I don't consider PIR alone will be adequate. I think it would be good to add to the poster that the doors unlock automatically if the power goes out.
The only issue is if someone happens to be in there longer than they anticipated with minimal movement and the locks unlock .. how long does the motion sensor allow ? Is this adjustable ?
Yes all motion sensors are adjustable and if that happens the lights will go off so the person in the shower will certainly know to wave their arms around to turn both the lock and lights back on!!
