Would you actually end up with more trains though? (I was under the impression that Liverpool Street is a major constraining factor in any frequency upgrades?) Is there a reasonable length/time diversion around the crossing?
The road that passes this crossing has lots of traffic, meaning it would be a terrible idea to shut this 'stupid thing permanently'. That's because if they blocked off the crossing then traffic would have to find routs elsewhere, increasing journey time and conjunction on the other routes available. Also, it does not effect the trains at all. They only need to close it for 2 minutes to let a train pass, and raise them when there isn't Amy trains. This crossing hardly stays down for 2 minuets which means that when cars do get stuck, they will soon be on their way. There is also an underpass for pedestrians for people in a hurry
Ohh wow this is a great crossing.
50th like 👍🏻 halfway to 100 💯
The signal box has been converted into a cafe!
You don't seem to be adding your detailed descriptions!
I've noticed that they usually come later, so he's likely not had the time to add them yet...
Exams and stuff :(
They should just close this stupid thing permanently - we'd get more trains and better traffic flow.
No need
