I got into raving in 2000 and instantly became hooked was only 16, fearless skibba n shabba to me were like god's but there was the myth the legend Stevie that I had been too late to witness was still the most talked about MC any time I heard someone had a cassette with Stevie on I needed to hear that borrow it and record my own one the skills he possessed was insane he could come with any style or flow singing spitting fast so clear an on point just to sit and imagine if he was here today how ridiculous and even better he could have become
First set I ever downloaded was Stevie Hyper D & Kenny Ken - Mach One '98 back in like 2000. There was no going back after that. That man had so much energy - He was blowing minds in my little town in Mississippi USA.
Yeah i went to that rave and he killed it i was hooked on jungle and later garage and grime... Back in 98 was a special time i wish i could go back to them days cuz the vibes especially at that party was something else...RIP Hyper D
Greatest Mc to ever do it. And had the pleasure to share sets with him. Proper Icon and hero of mine. With Skibba as a close second. R.I.P to both, changed the games completely. The James Bond line, was special! Whole up you han if you a double O Seven, whole up you han if you de pon a mission. Goated!
Stevie Hyper was a true G. His lyricism was high level. He leveled up the game and ensured that the rave was nice. Best of all, he understood the raver, he raved himself. Not like those that talk all over the best part of the tune, and he brought authentic hip hop reggae culture. Bad man for real. RIP Stevie you legend ❤
The blueprint was set in my opinion and I'd say with the hyper D and number 1 for me but combined with Skibadee (Rip), Fearless and Mc DET was a powerful combination..
Junglists are you ready ..... boooooowl lord AV mercy His death was a truly sad day for the UK as a whole but he touched a nation and everyone who's anyone will say Stevie is the boss
@piratechroniclesseries I watched HYPER Tuesday and it was packed with like minded people who loved and still loves The legend Stevie hyper d. It was emotional and eye opening for real. Rest in paradise Stevie hyper d.Gone but never forgotten 🙏✌️❤️🤝
I was at a rave when the Mc stopped the tunes and made the rave go so quiet it was ghostly.he announced that Stevie hyper d had passed away that night and there was over 10.000 people there and they had a minutes silence and you couldn't hear a pin drop. Rest in paradise stevie hyper d. Gone but never forgotten. GOAT.We will keep his legacy alive 💯
Wish i got to see stevie live. Started raving not long after. Still raving now. Grew up To hyper d. What a don. Rip. Up there wrecking dancefloors with ski right about now
He made it possible for mcs to shine.he was a djs nightmare at the time.he made it about him n chating through mixes a lot despite all his skills.Kenny ken even said it made djs think about the mc n how to compliment them instead of the other way around
I’ve had the pleasure to see hyper d live a few times, one was telepathy Michael sobell was a road block and I think the other was one nation or elevation at Wembley arena
Yh man I can remember being in Hmp onley in 96.97 I'm originally from Leicester. I was 17 at the time I can remember a lad from London bermondsey. Great lad called James Hazel Anyway he lent me a telepathy tape pack With stevie hyper d mc ing on fabio and grooverider What the fuck.that tap pack helped me through that sentence And just writing this just takes me back. One of the true pioneers of drum and bass God bless you and yours. Nicky
Not sure if I’m in this I was off my nut on anti biotics, ganja and stella when I went to a Memorial Day for him in 2019 and they were interviewing people to possibly put in the film if I am I am dreading to hear how much I waffle about my love for the man that I never met lol he is the Bob Marley of dnb end of
From a 60 year old mindset with a history of reggae sound system culture from the late 70's i have to say most of you so called MC'S chat pure foolishness! I been hardcore raves back in 91', Jungle 94' and so on and all i hear is Mc chatting over riddims all night. It's like you chat about anything plus half the time i can't even understand what the hell they chatting about to rahtid... Thank god they weren't prominent when Acid House / Detroit Techno was relevant in 88' times coz mans would a get ben up if you chatting over dem kind of riddim wid foolishness u understand... I remember i got a recording of a cassette tape from The Eclipse in Coventry in 91' and when i played it all i could hear was the MC chatting pure breeze all through the session and i just dash the damn tape in the bin.... all MC is rubbish, PERIOD!!
I just booked my tickets for: HYPER: The Stevie Hyper D Story Friday 29th November 2024 Peckhamplex 95a Rye Lane, London, SE15 4ST if i put a link to peckhamplex youtube deletes the post, but easy enough to search. boh \o/

A true originator 🫡 was an honour to see him nearly every weekend for 10 years
"Yes it's me, Hyper D, the master of ceremonies"
Peace and love and unity to everyone....
What a legend. I don’t think he would approve of the scene as it is now. His time was without a doubt in the 90’s.
Well he set the blueprint for all MCS as the example
@@piratechroniclesseries I agree 🫡

That is it.. and that's why many say he is the blueprint.
