Fascinating times....in a year or two many went from arguing over different coloured football shirts to hugging over their shared love of music and dancing....thats a club anyone and everyone should be supporting...thanks for uploading friend.
For everyone thats walked with friends across muddy fields at 6am, sweating like its the tropics, talking nonsense and laughing, music still running through your head ❤
“ a threat to our youngsters” Lolz it was the most loving embracement of youthful expression that’s ever been or most likely will ever be! I was there and the only thing I regret is that I didn’t go to more of them! We never imagined it would come to an end!! X
For me as soon as 92 came in and the breakbeat/jungle consumed by all the major UK DJs was what killed the scene from us all as one together dancing to the same genre to jungle which is wasn’t as good to dance too and was much less atmosphere in the scene by mid 92 it wasn’t the same. Still some amazing events but for me 91 was the best year for the music and the whole scene. 🕊️🙌🕊️
The best of it was all over by 1992. The summer of love has been and gone. That 1988 burst through to 1991 was amazing. Small local freepartys where you know everyone still happen. Peace out!
This was my first proper rave , been going to clubs raving for about a year then travelled up to this from liverpool with a gang of us . A lad we knew from newcastle who lived in liverpool , geordie John 😂 told us about it. What a night , or the bits i can remember of it . I can remember the fariground rides outside and it being rammed all night in the tent haha. It was rocking all night till 6 or 8 in the morn. I can remember fierce ruling diva , rub it in getting played because that was one of my favourite tunes at the time. Think they might have been a PA on the night ???.
@@bobjary9382 OK Mr 4 subscribers 2 videos, whatever you think. I'm 55 and lived it to the max, I guarantee I know 100 times more about it than you do. There were some illegals after 1993, but a tiny amount compared to before the 1993 criminal justice act, and the whole act itself was designed to kill the illegal rave scene, which it did.
I never saw or did any drug pushing... It was all volentary! They should of kept 1992 as a genre and moved on with it instead of changing bpm every year up to 1996/97....the producers were too keen in moving the scene on...the only genre that made multiple years was happy hardcore....now many years later they bring all of this oldskool sound back again...its cool but it's just not the same.
Loved the scene, I was never that keen on that ultra-fast Hardcore. In the end, we stopped going and went to Dub nights instead. Once it slowed down "a lot" we returned. I think what we like became Psy Trance
@marccarter1350 psy trance was completely different, Goa was one places it was done but it was soon stopped due to the severe punishments for possession of drugs...its just a derivative of house...and not breaks. I liked up to 1993 and it got to moody and dark and the scene just wasn't the same.
@@Dee.J.Mogfry Last time i parted in Goa was 2005, there was a massive scene still then. Yep, it was better at the back end of the 1990's thou. :-) I mostly;y just train to Psy Trance these days at the gym lol
@marccarter1350 some of the psy trance is cool...its got more energy than normal trance... It's good to hear you go to the gym...at our age we need to be on it...
For me it was the people involved..Good people..This went to Labrynth and Spiral tribe and Exodus and so so many more so many more Rocket Innersense in Peckham the list is endless or should I say was endless!! Cant say this without Paradise club!!! And Elevation at the Roller!!! Where do you stop?? I know Labrynth at Tasco!!
Nowadays clubbing is so expensive, established djs are charging big fees, too many people fighting & stabbing which you didn't get in those raves when taking Ez, yes there were some dodgy drug dealers & criminal gangs wanted a piece of the action in the bigger cities but overall the music & the experience was more positive. Just kids wanting to party without much trouble. But the conservative media demonised them & the government wanted to shut them down primarily because they didn't get their cut in tax from the profits. Once the superclubs emerged they were happy despite drug taking still being rife which tells you all you need to know.
1992 is when I got into rave music, 92-94 was an amazing time!

Agreed, that was refreshing as f*** to hear!
Respect to superintendent Pape!!!
I can't help but notice how badly the music snippets in this docu are mixed. They should have hired a DJ to do that for them!

Fair play to the Police for being level headed and realistic about the situation
Nobody got stabbed or had acid thrown on them. Compared to today it was like policing a primary school... probably safer.
Nothing would kick my come down in than seeing the sun come up.

88-92, the glory days, before the 'criminal justice act' killed the scene.
Killed the scene?
The rave scene is still massive

Why's she so concerned about drug pushers? They aren't doing her any harm, are they?
I know, right! Plus, I see drugs being openly sold all over my town by pushers - they're called pub landlords and landladies!
