I'm struggling with mine too, not starting anymore. It's taking very long to start

so i have a 2018 wr450f. i washed it yesterday only with a hose with a nozzle on it. nothing crazy. today i go to start it and it’s just clicking. the starter isn’t even cranking it just clicks very fast. have checked many things can’t figure it out

Hey mate, did you find out what was the cause having the exact same issue, with the same bike.

@@Untamed2061 so i started off first with checking the voltage on my battery. it was 12.6 so i figured my battery was good. after troubleshooting almost every relay, fuse and wire connection under the seat. even with a jump box on the battery it would not start. So my dad gave me the idea to disconnect the battery and just try to start the bike directly off the jump box. it fired right up first try. Dead cell in the battery. had never seen the voltage be good still with a battery that was completely done. just didn’t have any cranking amps. get your battery fully charged and load tested for sure if it’s more than a year or two old. replaced for $60 all good now.

What issue were you having? My 2020 wr250f cranks but it won't start. Could unplugging this switch or jumping it help me?

I was having intermittent spark so I bypassed the clutch safety switch. If your bike is getting fuel then I'd check for a blown fuse/make sure the ECU is getting power with a multi meter

@@brendanyendall4085 I've checked the fuses, they're ok. Ecu has power. No CEL. I think the plug is fouled. I'm going to get a new one and try unplugging this switch.

Yeah buddy; I came here 'cuz I thought he was gonna fix my issue, too. Lol. 2003 wr450f. Mine acts like it wants to E-Start, just won't. Starts 1st kick though. I bought a new battery, online, with triple the CCA...I'm going to bet that fixes my issue...just hasn't come in the mail yet.
Your wr250f, probably the same issue....battery losing it's ability to provide enough amperage. a Weak battery and a dead battery are 2 different things; but a Weak battery can still reach full charge; it just can't discharge enough power fast enough to spin your engine fast enough to get it to catch...
Your bike have an RPM gauge? My start will only spin her about 800 rpms, and she just won't start. When I kick, I kick hard enough to get her up to nearly 1100rpms and she starts right up, every time. So my guess is my battery (70 CCA, stock) doesn't have enough power anymore...so I upped it to 230 CCA because go big or go home.
