You're right about the music, i've never understood why producers vandalise their documentaries with annoying and completely unnecessary music, usually horrible sounds masquerading as music. Oerhaps they are being blackmailed by the Musicians Union. But a bit of well informed comentary doesn't go amiss, what is its fully loaded take off run for instance? I don't see any big deal about operating from these sands with little or no cargo on board, flat as a pancake and as spacious as any airfield.

) regarding the upwash ahead of the wing. The engines being aligned to the local streamline.
Although I did speculate on an added benefit, that is the propeller thrust being diverted up and away from a sandy runway keeping dust and debris to a minimum.

We were all sitting on our mollie packs like sardines. Fun fact while inside the plane its hot as hell. They can't turn on the A/C until the cargo door is shut. It cools off pretty quick once they turn it on. But by that time you lost about 15 lbs wearing your uniform, plate carrier, helmet and everyone else body heat.

Don't know about the RAF, but the French Air Force likes it very much for strategic purposes (long range missions). Although for tactical purposes (shorter range missions), they would prefer a smaller and more flexible plane (hence the A200M project).
Since the missions and doctrines of the RAF and french air force are fairly similar, I assume the RAF might think the same, more or less
