      Hi and love your videos! I use Blink primer and it’s amazing. The color is black (not white) so it covers easier with the mascara and seems to lock in the curl.

    Another thing I do is in between mascara coats I brush on a brow or eyeshadow powder to make the color richer and deeper, and then I finish it with a final coat. This works great with clear mascara too so you can wear colors usually not available. Maybelline is part of the L'Oreal group which also owns Lancome. That conglomerate shares formulations between all the companies so the expensive mascaras are not all that different from the cheaper ones, and often the expensive formulations make their way down to the drug stores in different packaging with different names. I got the heated curler and the lash guard based on your recommendation and love them. I gave my mother and niece lash guards too 🙂

    I also have very straight lashes. Before I started lift/tinting and now extensions, my tricks were heated eyelash curler and waterproof mascara. Unlike you, I prefer separated, less chunky lashes. I always used maybelline waterproof. I like that you point out different ways to achieve different preferences. One other tip: I used the Shu Emura lash curler for YEARS but switched to the Tweezerman lash curler since it was recommended for deep-set eyes. HUGE DIFFERENCE in curling ALL the lashes evenly! Including those on the ends! So lash curlers are not just “good” or “ bad” but it depends on the lash types and eye shape!

    I used to put my eyelash curler in a jar of hot water. When it was time to do my lashes, it would be the perfect temp. Worked GREAT! But did eventually start rusting my curler. But hey, I tried!🤷‍♀️ and it DOES work.

      Put on your bra before you do your makeup. Stick the curler in your bra. By the time you get to your eyes = perfect temp. Works like a charm every time! 😊I used to use a dryer to warm it but it was a pain, plus easily runs the risk of overheating the metal.

    Thank you so much from another short and sparse lash girl! I bought my Shiseido lash curler back in the 90’s, and it still works great! Thanks for the reminder to clean that curler. I am horrible at remembering and am wondering if I am breeding new microbe species in there! I will try the hairdryer trick for sure.
    I’m having good results with a tubing mascara called Through Hell and High Water. It makes my lashes longer and thicker and is reasonably transfer resistant (but not waterproof) while also washing off easily with just soap and water.
    I used to have stick straight lashes throughout childhood through young adulthood. Then I hit middle age, and my lashes got curlier. They now swoop up. Am I the only one whose lashes got curly due to perimenopause?

I recently discovered a new product from the brand KISS called Falscara - have you heard of them? Apparently you apply an adhesive to your lashes ( using a mascara wand) and attach the lashes at the bottom rather that top. Hope that makes sense (lol) If you try this brand I would love your feedback. 😊💕

    Have you tried tubing mascara? Do you think this would be best mascara for thin lashes? My lashes are also thin. I use Maybelline Great Lash -regular not waterproof. This mascara lasts so long and each time I pull the wand out, it has a full brush of mascara which provides lots of volume. I have hooded eyes so best to keep lashes shorter. It’s also why I don’t curl my lashes which only makes them touch brow area. My lashes have a natural curl to them.

    Try coconut oil. I use waterproof mascara only and this works great for me. Good luck😊

      Sorry, this was meant for southern girl. Coconut oil works great for removing waterproof mascara. Put it on lashes and let it sit a moment. Rub it around and rinse away with washcloth, makeup eraser cloth or my favorite, Wonder cloth.

      Yes that does work well! It's a budget friendly option for getting rid of all waterproof makeup (and makeup in general).

    • @wot4me2
      @wot4me2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never heard of water resistant mascara, however, waterproof does pretty well at not pulling the curl out. It has a waxy base so isn't likely to straighten your lashes, just like being caught in the rain with curled hair.

    I have decent lashes but still challenging, especially in summer. I have tried waterproof, and I had a bad reaction. So in compromise, I use less mascara, and makeup in general during summer. I also use a primer, but only on the tips, to give extra length

      Hey! What happened when you used waterproof? I'm wondering if you were just allergic to that specific brand or mascara specifically.

      @@GlamGirlGabi my lashes fell out! It was awful. I know to be very careful with waterproof, and I do use a well known remover for all my makeup.

    I've never used false lashes but would love to try, just unsure about some things, like, will the glue you use irritate or cause my natural eyelashes to fall out gradually? And do you need to take them off every night when taking off your mascara?

    • @mikayla9146
      @mikayla9146 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I wore false lashes for about 5 years. Didn't ever have any issues with eyes nor losing natural lashes. I did take them off every night, not something to sleep in.

      @myheartwaves. No problem. As a beginner you should use a clear lash glue to start, not a black one. Ardell Demi whispi's are a really good, great price lash. Not too long, or fake looking. In fact, I think they look more realistic than loads of mascara. Watch some lash videos here on TH-cam for visual tips and tricks. :)

      Ardell Demi whispi's are my favourite lash. So flattering and not over the top. All the time and effort all the tips in this video would take, I can have my falsies both on in less than 2 minutes. One reason not to sleep in false lashes as it bends the tiny hairs in odd shapes and then they can't be re used. I can get at last 6 wears per lash set. I think the channel beauty broadcast has a really good video on false lash care as well as how to apply them for beginners.

      I did lash lifts for about 4 years and loved it…half the time. It’s great the first two weeks and then weeks of so-so while I wait to be able to go back for a lift, and the last week or two they were just yuck. I found that if I went in too often my lashes would get over-processed and go in crazy directions. Ultimately it was just not enough consistency to continue. Frankly I think a lift (and tint) is perfect for a beach vacation. For me, the waiting to go back in while my lashes got less and less nice was ultimately a deal breaker. I do, however, love not having to wear mascara so I’m getting extensions now. I’m sure there may be issues with them over time,but for now they look fab and getting them refreshed every two weeks sounds good to me! I used to assume I would dread having to go in for a refill but now it’s exactly what I want!

    I need Volumizing, Length, Lifting ALL of the above, in a mascara. 😆 Great video Gabi! Honestly, since menopause and formerly having lash extensions pulling my lashes out. It’s quicker for me just to pop on falsies. Whether I’m going out or staying in. I don’t feel “dressed” without my lashes. 🩷
