    7-8. My TRX4 Defender was always in Dakar Rally mode. 😂Great news update. I'm excited to see some action in the 2.2 world again. Felt like the Wraith and class fell off the map about 2 years ago.

    Oh yeah I’m on the bottom end of that spectrum for sure. I’d easily say I’m a 2. I make my trucks as slow and smooth as possible. lol

    • @year1camaro
      @year1camaro 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      King Scott right? I dont even put fast strong servos in my trucks. I hate when the tires turn quickly with a lot of confidence. When i wheel my 1:1 trucks things happen slow and thats how i like my rc to act. As real as possible.

    I like scale. So I'm around a 2-3. But I like scale on 40's and 44's.
    So I'm definitely a 4.19 to 4.45 size tire.
    As for speed...most my rigs have 2-speeds AND Holmes power so they are fast too.

    Stuff the big block in it (Teken T8I 1600kv) send it. 3cell power/ speed out of a 2 cell. Don't get me wrong I crawl the hell out of it but I'm not afraid to tip it over, or powered self-recovery. The best is rock walls were throttle control is critical . 50-75 rpm is stoped 60-100rpm is inching forward 45-150rpm will peel the front tires off the wall into a full-on backflip some times 20' up hunting out a path. Slick rock around Yosemite is fun.

    A solid 5. Keeping ratios at near 50:1, 3s, and 17-2000kv range brushed motors.
    1st nation's people of the SW have this lore also. Asked a couple of buddies. And redcats home office is in PHX. Probably the inspiration. That being said, was thinking of getting more of a go fast, think this might hit a sweet spot for me. Don't dig the gap in the rear, but can be remedied.
    Good stuff as usual, my friend 👍🍻

    Out of 1-10, Plaid. Ever since I got into RC, I've focused solely on Off-Road racing, First around town and then at the local track. However, The rock racer 'genre' of the hobby interests me but I have no idea what is good or not in said category, Any suggestions for a cheap, Basic way of feeling my way in?

    Im more of a 6-7, I like to make things as scale as possible while still maintaining good performance. I end up getting bored with trucks that look really cool but can only crawl pebbles. Im picking up the wendigo to give it a whirl. Looks pretty good.

    I'm a 1 who doesn't care about body damage or rolling, although I try not to. Honestly, I have two modes; going out on the trail at Folsom I'm all about #1 , but when the sun sets at the lake and we are walking back in the dark, I'm all about #10... lights on full throttle no scale driving just get me to a beer.

    That's a tough question, i think i'd be around a 3 or 4, love slow scale driving and when you put all kinds of money in a hardbody build i really cringe at damage, When i wanna 'rock race' i go with my yeti, to bad the yeti gets so much hate cuz i freakin love mine and when you drive it as intended, it's a blast. as for the wendigo, that's a hard nopper, not for me!!

    4-6 depending on how many vertical feet the truck is likely to fall. I am pretty surprised by how much abuse the HPI Wheelyking/CrawlerKing can take, only have broken one plastic part despite the truck having fallen 30+ vertical feet off of rocks down in the Snake River Canyon. Actually surprised the GoPro that I attach to the HPI still works despite the amount of tumbles its taken with the truck.

  • @rcdabbler

    Probably down the middle, for me. If I’m going trailing in the mountains, it’s low&slow with a 2S, but around the house, or on nearby forestry roads, or ATV trails, it’s 3S and anything goes. I like the look of that Wendigo, as it resembles the old AX10 2.2 Deadbolt, which I still like to this day, and the ladder frame makes it all the better. I suspect they had this planned when they designed the Gen8 frame so large.

    A definite 1 for me, my axial Cherokee is painted to match my full size 2000 Cherokee so I drive them the same. I am totally into scale RC vehicles just not into rock crawling. Next builds are a fully caged with interior Class 5 1600 Baja Bug and a Jeepspeed Cherokee, so yes I do love speed.

    Thanks for the videos. I recently got into RC in preparation for some hobbies to do with my boy. I bought the Everest 10 to test the waters and love it but already want to expand and have around 4 different units I would eventually like to own.
    My 1st decision right now is between the Redcat Wendigo and the Losi Rock Rey. I am looking for a unit that would be fun to take camping and run on some trails, back yard bashing and maybe also some crawling. I am quite easy on everything I own and when J say bash I'm not jumping it 10 ft in the air etc.
    The Wendigo clearly does not crawl with current electronics but could potentially if I upgraded to Holmes sensored brushless. But that would also make this an expensive rig combined with myself living in Canada where they cost more.
    Alternatively the Losi seems to make it's way through some of the non extreme rocks from factory and also appears to handle quite well when running fast.
    What is your opinion on the matter?

  • @Jeepy84
    @Jeepy84 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a UDR and DMG Bomber when I'm feeling 11, and I have a bunch of hardbody rigs that put me in the 1-2 frame of mind. In the middle I have a class 2 and working on class 1 hardbodies that get sent into battle with personal best driving performance with necessary body damage already in my mind. I call it dynamic weathering, and occasionally take missing paint and hit it with the rust effects pens.

    I used to be more 8-9, but in the more recent years I've gone more towards 5-6, mainly depends on what truck I'm running, and that new redcat looks like a ladder frame competitor to the axial ridgecrest, 2.2 basher/crawler

  • @AUBREYTHOMAS1979
    @AUBREYTHOMAS1979 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm more like a 2.... Scale driving without trying to damage my body too much on purpose but not worried about getting trail rash on it at the same time. I don't like bashing my way up trails.... As a general rule if I don't drive my 1:1 like that I wouldn't drive my scale Willys like that.
    But..... I am building a 6th scale Willys into a Malaysian Rainforest Challenge style rig that is being built to drive like they do at that event. So if will be built to take the beating and do it with enough scale speed.
