Tom started out mixing his own songs, then met Evan through his best friend Brandon Hart. This song is his response to youtube rappers that were making diss songs about him. Like Crypt and a few others. But he responded to them all without mentioning any names. He gave them no clout by not saying their names. #HOG
Deaththreats, Gravestones, AND Ghoststories, are all Tom MacDonald albums.
This song came out after the Dave/Mac Lethal beef. Tom said the whole thing took him to a really dark place and he would never do it again. So he wrote THIS song, as an answer to ALL the haters, big and small. 6 mins, ALL bars, NO Chorus/hook....this is THE song I point people to that say "Tom Can't Rap".

He had Evan help with "Ashes", on how to mix the guitars! He liked it so much he hired him full time!

Tom used to do his own mixing and mastering but it was time consuming.
Brandon introduced Tom to Evan Morgan. Tom was so impressed with Evan’s work that he has offloaded that task almost completely. Tom did mix and master “Angels” himself.

Tom mixed his own songs until his song "Ashes". This one has a lot rock elements. Since Tom didn't have that much experience with mixing that kind of music, he asked Evan to do it. Evan did a great job and it saved Tom a lot of time, so he continued to work with Evan.

He made multiple mentions to the mac lethal battle, including the finding Nemo line (ellen), specifically calling out the first song ( lethal injection ), the fast raps were directed at mac and others of his style, he even talked about corny bars, fast rappers have a lot to say and say nothing at all, and even more importantly even in the name (no response), he atleast in my opinion is a direct call out for the lack of response from mac and then his lack of responses to all of mac's buddies who tried to make dis tracks against him. He also mentioned the story arc, I believe that was another tie back to the battle, when he told mac that he was at his peak when he made his biggest mistake. This is the drop, or it could be also referring to the other rappers saying that they may get the same treatment.
I also think the battle was 100% planned. He's said it multiple times, I saw this happening before I even wrong the song, I dont remember the other ones, but there are many in different songs where he talks about his strategy. I think he baited a bunch of rappers, and when mac went after him on twitter it was exactly what Tom wanted.
In earnest I think he's done this a bunch of times, white boy baited the eff out of people, then he dropped house which was fantastic. He puts out this goofy playing around songs like canceled and then follows up with something crazy good like I dont care. This is all speculation and my opinion got nothing but love for Tom & Nova. #hangovergang #hogfam
