The friend testified that his sentence was too harsh. I can’t even imagine the horror that poor Ashley went through. His sentence was not to harsh.

It didn’t take 9 years to sentence her. She got away with the crime for years and was recently charged/convicted. She opened her big mouth or she would have probably gotten away with it.
The trial was earlier this year. Thanks to COVID. She was probably out on bail until trial. Then free until sentencing. That's how it works, isn't it? Such a stupid thing to do. Hasn't she ever heard two can keep a secret if one of them is dead?

But Erika started opening her mouth about the crime and stopped bringing the kids to visit the dad in prison. So he finally ratted her out. However I don't remember seeing or hearing anything about her being involved. I am going to go see if I can find at least the highlights of the case. Thanks for the info

Life with parole eligibility after 30 years. Yes!! Thank you Your Honor. You chose a punishment that fit the crime. She has not shown any remorse, and she truly thought she would get away with murder. She will be a senior citizen when she comes out of prison, IF she even gets parole.

Life is actually 30 yrs min before having a chance at parole. Doesn’t mean she’ll get it but it’s a small possibility
Life is 15 year's in State prison, so she will come up for parole in 12 1/2years & then decided by parole board if she can come up every year or if they will put her off 5 or 10 years.

I have to be honest; I don’t get the sentencing in this instance. She was an accessory to this, and her then-husband carried out the beating and murder, but life for her with the possibility of parole in 30 years? Bo Pete Jeffrey’s live-in lover had knowledge of the horrible act he did, and even told him to get rid of the body, yet she walks away freely?

I believe the Judge handed down the right sentence in this case. Thirty (30) years to life with the possibility of parole. The Judge did give her a break with the possibility of parole.
