I know people are going to say 'what does this have to do with Bitcoin?' but Maajid Nawaz is the man. Such a powerful speaker with a wild story and redemption arc. Thank you for having him on!

If people can't figure out why this has anything to do with Bitcoin, they haven't done the work yet. Hopefully for anyone asking themselves this exact question, Maajid's story helps inspire you to keep going. What's the thing Pete and others have been saying, something like "if you haven't put 100+ hours into it, you're probably not there yet"? Paraphrasing, of course!

This is one of the best shows you have ever done. I learned so much about the world and understood that humanity could be cruel if some people see it as necessary. When I watched the BBC production of "Seven Continents, One Planet," I thought the wild animals were cruel when they fought for their lives. But I think humans can be worse since they can be crueler, not even for fighting for their lives, but to people who think differently. A big Fan! Thank you very much.

It makes me happy that more and more heavily influential people who aren't thought of first as Bitcoiners are spending more time in orbit with people like Pete. It gives me hope that mega platform podcasters like Joe Rogan and Sam Harris are that much closer to being fully orange pilled.

Discovered Maajid on Rogan. Listened to the thing 3 times over as his stories and way of expressing himself were exciting and captivating.
    Followed on Twitter.
The war in Ukraine started. Maajid went on rampage about Ukraine arming nazis. Post after post, one hot take after another.
Called the guy out for not looking at the big picture, provided examples from similar situations in the past, other options for Ukraine, etc. Didnt curse or anything.
Insta block, no response. So much for open conversations, freedom of thought, lmao.
Listened more to his shows, tried to do some fact checking (as he always brags about his receipts).
Still impressed by the guy. No longer captivated.
Every story has a convenient angle for him. Even when no hard facts to back it up, he “just knows its like that”.
Thanks for having him on, Petey.

I appreciate the insertion (obviously very current considering the Trump raid being mentioned) of a relevant and current topic that helps understand how governments work and a likely path Bitcoin may take in the future under the guise of "regulation".

There was once a Chinese farmer who’s horse ran away, and all the people came around and said “how unfortunate that’s happened” and the farmer replied “maybe”. The next day the horse returned bringing 8 wild horses with him and all the people gathered around again and said “how furtunate that happened” and the farmer replied “maybe”. The morning after the farmers son tried to break in one of the horses and was thrown and broke his leg, all the people gathered and said “how unfortunate that happened” and the farmer replied once again “maybe” two days later there came a knock at the door from the government to subscribe his son into the army but was relieved since the boys leg was broken, after the boys narrow escape from war, all the people gathered around again and said “how fortunate these things happened” and the farmer looked them in the eye once again and said “maybe”

In an ideal world Tommy would have done as Majid suggested and challenge white supremacy in his old groups. However he was a little concerned by the industrial scale child abuse occurring in places like Oldham, Telford and other norther towns by Muslim men of Pakistani origin. It’s still going on now.
